On Easter, Felicia sent two gifts, which you should be able to find in Messages. They consist of an Easter Gift and an Infinity Egg. The Easter Egg gift contains a variety of farm aids. The Infinity Egg is an April Fool's prank. The developers always do something for April Fool's Day and it is different every year. This year, it is an Infinity Gift bag. Tap on 'Use' again and again until the Infinity Bag becomes an Infinity Bag Avatar. You need to transfer the Infinity Bag from your Gift Box then in order to have it in your Avatar menu.
AS OF 27 March, you should find a message from Felicia containing Compensation for recent issues that consists of 1 Brick Roast Duck Oven, 1 Rainbow Rain, and 1 RC. The Brick Roast Duck Oven given in the Message is the same one you would earn by completing the Collection Mission. It is NOT temporary, despite some chat rumours about that. At this point in time, therefore, it is the only permanent Collectable of which you can have two. The Princess of China Quest and Manchurian Headdress Collection Mission have been extended until 6 April as well. (Note from Felicia stated 30 March but that made no sense.)
As of 26 March, this post contains both the new Easter Rush Activity Stage activity and the current timed Quest/Collection Mission. On Friday last, a new timed Quest was released with a Collection Mission. The amount of OP required if you use Batch Production is tremendous so I suggest that players obtain the OP reduction boost from the Circus Monkey for this one.

Duck Eggs, White Chocolate, Easter Biscuit Set and Dipping Noodles with Seafood (Stove House) to obtain Easter Eggs to trade for Rewards. You can produce any of these for the 'Christmas Socks', obviously a misnomer... and then trade those for Rewards. The 'Christmas Socks' actually are Easter Eggs.
The Easter Biscuit Set Recipe from the Kitchen is 1 Carrot Cupcake and 1 Spring Tart
The Dipping Noodles with Seafood is a Stove House Recipe that can be purchased in the Market for 9 RC if you do not have it. It gives the highest number of 'Christmas Socks' (eg. Easter Eggs) in the form of 30 of these.

Claim your Easter Eggs by tapping on the Gold Chest and when you do so, you will receive little rewards in the form of random types of Mystrons and Coins.
In other words, in this sort of Activity, you can produce ANY or ALL of the four items that can be traded. You will complete it fastest if you make the Stove House Recipe, but a player can opt to harvest White Chocolate or Duck Eggs instead or make the Easter Biscuit Set kitchen recipe or a combination of all of these.

Note that the Sakura Standing Flower Decoration is a Theme item in the current Farm Beauty Contest.
To obtain a Reward, simply tap on the icon of this Reward on the graph to the left of the Easter Rush menu.
The Mary the Cow Easter Egg Decoration, claimed with a total of 1200 Easter Eggs is the FINAL Reward. If you continue to make the items designated, you can open more Chests to receive coins and random Mystrons, but you cannot obtain the real Rewards on the graph more than once.
The following includes the current Collection Mission and traditional Quest sequence.
Dipping Noodles with Seafood Recipe:
Ingredients: 2 Beef, 1 Soft Dough, 2 Eggs, 1 Smoked Mackerel and 3 Power
This is a simple dish. Place all ingredients in the Pot and set the timer for 13 seconds, then tap Finish when the Bronze Star activates.
Originally a Collection Mission Reward, it now is available in the Stove House section of the Market.

The Collection Mission Reward is a Collectable in the form of a Brick Roast Duck Oven. The premium Tree required to complete this Mission is a Rainbow Tree. The Crop needed for this is the Pitaya and you will need to collect Peacock Feathers from the Peacock and Pineapple Jam from the Jam Machine. Do not complete the Peacock Feather collection until you reach the task that requires Peacock Feathers in Princess of China 5.
WARNING: One of the tasks requires that you fish 8 times with the Bone Hook. If you have unlocked the Fishing College and use Nets, you will not be able to use the Bone Hook or indeed any fishing rod until the time on the net expires. You can use OP to speed the Net, but it can be rather expensive to do so. I therefore suggest that players with the Fishery refrain from casting a Net until they have completed the Quest task.
Another tip: Do NOT tend your flowers in the Botanic Garden as you will need to use Spades 3 times as one of the tasks.
N.B. The game has become enormous. Very often, updates are available on one system or device before they become available on others. This morning, I found the Quest first on Kindle. Do not be dismayed if you do not have it yet on your device... it will appear!

St. Patrick 's Day Farm Beauty Contest
St. Patrick's Day, once a strictly Irish festival, now is celebrated throughout the world. It is a popular festival and actually represents an appeal to Spring to evict Winter from the landscape. Clover is a symbol of fertility and life as is the colour green. Originally, the 'wearing of the green' was a political stand on the part of the Irish people for freedom and self-determination but in fact, the symbolism is ancient and universal. Note, however, that at one time, the 'wearing of the green' in Ireland actually was prohibited by law and could be punished by death, so there are many still who wear green on St. Patrick's Day as a tribute to those who had the courage to do so in the face of that prohibition before Ireland attained its independence.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
The current Farm Beauty Contest is given the title of 'St. Patrick's Day' and many of the theme decorations are based on popular Irish stereotypes. As usual, the NEW premium decorations offered in the special sales at the top right of the screen are worth more in terms of votes for Theme than any others as follows:

3 Votes daily from each of the three characters who vote for Theme if you have not achieved maximum votes for theme; thus a possible 9 votes per day for theme for this decoration alone

Green Base

The Green Base is a theme decoration but, unlike other Bases that were theme decorations in previous contests, it does not count until it is completed. Once completed and registered, however, it should be able to boost your Votes for Theme by 9 Votes each day if you are not at maximum!
The Green Base itself was given by Felicia with the first material in a Message in the game (6 Branch). The second material was given in the highlighted Order on the Daily Order Board until 9 March (6 White Rock). The third material was found in the Bronze and Silver Chests in the Daily Quest Path through 16 March. (12 Clover Plant). The fourth and final material is found RANDOMLY in the special Easter Cooking Bags you receive when you eat from a Neighbour's Cooking Stand until 22 March. You can use Batch Cleaning to obtain these Bags incidentally.
The Stackable Decorations for this new base are as follows:
Position 1: Dwarf in a Pot or Clover Wood Barrel
Position 2: Dwarf with Beer or Teddy Bear in a T-Shirt
Position 3: Rainbow Arch or Spring Vine
Position 4: Spring Grass. We will receive the Spring Grass Decoration at the end of March from the Calendar.
OBTAINING THE REWARD DECORATION

You need a total of 4000 Votes by the end of the Contest to receive the significant reward which is the Decoration. Almost any farmer should be able to maximise the Votes of the 4 Characters to obtain this even without a single vote from a Neighbour. You basically need a total of 200 Votes per day.
VOTE CATEGORY CHANGES

There are two significant changes in this Contest. The first is the addition of Pets as a Vote category for Grandma in the form of 'pets with fancy equipment'. The second is a decrease in the totals for the Levels required for Dad's Vote for 'high level farm'.
Pet Category

The total number of Votes that can be given by Grandma for Pets is 12. Equipment (the collars, scarves and bow ties and so on) that you forge in the Factory each count for 1 Vote. Apparel counts for the other Votes and it does not matter if it is premium Apparel or Temporary Apparel or even duplicate Apparel. All will count equally. Furthermore, players discovered originally that if they invited a Buddy Pet with equipment and 2 pieces of Apparel onto your Farm before you take your 'snapshot', that Buddy Pet would count unless you had maximum votes for Pets.
In other words, to gain 12 Votes from Grandma each day for the Pet Category, you need a total of 4 Pets, each wearing a piece of equipment and 2 pieces of apparel.
Note that as of 19 March, the situation here has changed. My cousin borrowed a Pet who had equipment and two pieces of apparel and this did not boost her Pet Vote from Grandma... need to explore this further now. It is possible that the rules have changed or the Buddy Pet vote may have been a glitch.
High Level Farms

This has changed a few times through the years but I only know for certain that Freyashawk at Level 117 received 15/18 votes for 'high level farm' from Dad. This was NOT the case in the other Farm Beauty Contests. At Level 145, another player received 18/18 but I believe the actual level requirement for maximum votes in this category is much lower.
Basic Rules

It is your current photograph of your Farm or 'snapshot' that determines the Votes from the 4 Characters in the game every day. In previous Contests, a Theme decoration often would be counted if it had been placed on the Farm, even if it had not been registered yet. I think now it is a good idea to register all theme items as quickly as possible.
Balance and variety always is the key in these contests. You need a variety of Crops, Animals, Trees, Machines and Theme Decorations on your farm to maximise the votes from the 4 Characters. If you design your Farm for maximum votes from the 4 Characters, you should not need ANY Votes from your Neighbours to obtain the Theme Decoration Reward that requires a total of 4000 Votes by the end of the Contest.
Duplicates never have counted where Crops, Trees, Animals, Machines and Decorations are concerned. I doubt that has changed. The only change really is that duplicates of Pet Equipment and Apparel DO count.
Crops

Have at least 16 different Crops on your Farm to obtain maximum Votes from Darryl for 'variety of Crops'. You may need less but Crops are easy to plant. They do not have to be mature when you take the photo to count.
Trees

Try to have 16 different types of Trees ON YOUR FARM when you take the photograph. Trees in the Tree Nursery will not be counted. Again, you may need fewer than 16 types but it does not hurt to be safe to obtain maximum votes from Grandma for 'enough Trees'.
Animals

Beehives and Butterfly Houses as well as the Bat House are considered Animals so every different TYPE of Beehive or Butterfly House counts but duplicates of any type of Animal do NOT Count. You should not need a total of 16 different types of Animal to obtain maximum votes from Felicia for Animals but again, if you have 16, use them.
Machines

In Contests in the past, you only needed a total of 12 different machines to obtain maximum Votes from Dad for Machines but this may have changed. Players claimed that the Salad Machine gave 2 Votes instead of 1, but never confirmed that. In any case, duplicates do not count and if you can cram 16 onto your Farm before you take the photo, better to be safe than sorry.

'Beautiful Paths' is the term for your Landscape Point total. As three of the four Characters vote for this Category, it is a very good idea to have Paths on your Farm and place as many Decorations as possible within their 'sphere of influence'. I have covered the details of Paths and Landscaping elsewhere on this site. The better the Path, the more points you receive when Decorations are placed next to it or near it. The Macaron Path, Pebble Path and Snow Path each are worth 50 Landscape Points. The Snow Path no longer is available but the other two can be purchased in the Paths Menu for 1 RC each. The Wooden Path is worth 35 Landscape Points and costs 50000 Coins. Next best is the Forest Path worth 25 Landscape Points with a price of 15000 Coins. If you have Buddies, however, they can send Forest Paths and Stone and Flower Paths to you. To send, go to the Special Gifts Buddy Menu. You can send a Stone and Flower Path to a Buddy for 4000 Coins and a Forest Path for 12000 Coins. You actually can send a Macaron Path to a Buddy for 1 RC. There are Buddy Level requirements for sending some of the Special Gifts.
Remember that Landscape Point total is the total of the value of ALL the Paths PLUS the Decorations that are close enough to those Paths to boost Points.
In the past, you needed less than 2300 Landscape Points to achieve maximum... not certain what the current requirement is but here are some farmers who have less than that and their results in the current contest:

Fishery and Fishing College

When you reach Level 8 in the Resort, you can make an expansion that will unlock the Fishery/Fishing College. Your pier on Seaside will change, offering new Fishing gear as well as the old Rods. You now will see new icons that represent the Floats and the Nets.
On Seaside, you will see the same pier until you tap on it to fish. You then will be able to choose the new options if you wish.
It is in the Sea Resort, where the Fishing College is located, that you will see a larger menu. You will be able to learn Fishing Skills, much like the Research Laboratory options on the original farm.
Note that the pier on the Island still is of no use whatsoever. It is the pier on the original Seaside Farm that gives you access to the expanded fishing.
There are three different Skills and it is the same procedure as you find in the Sea Resort Attractions in that each upgrade gives more Benefits. There are three levels for each.

THE SKILLS DO AFFECT YOUR RESULTS IF YOU USE A FLOAT AND NET. THIS IS ANOTHER SITUATION, LIKE THE SEA RESORT ATTRACTIONS WHERE THE ORDER IN WHICH YOU PERFORM TASKS AND YOUR TIMING CAN BE SIGNIFICANT.
For example, the Nutritional Feed Skill affects only the FIRST HARVEST of the day. It will give you 30% more items for your FIRST harvest of the day only if not upgraded and if upgraded, 40% more. So you need to choose your first cast of a Net and use of a Float each day carefully to maximum your benefit.
The Boost given by the Attractive Bait Skill can allow you to catch a fair number of a specific item. This can be more useful now than ever with all of the Shops in the Sea Resort as well as seafood items required for Sashimi and Sea Resort upgrades and expansions. You can use this again and again throughout the day, although a cast with the best Net, the Manila Hemp Net takes 6 hours to complete.
N.B. I have listed the amount of Bait required for each Float and Net as well as the time required and number of fish you will catch. Unfortunately, I obtained the Fishing Skills and upgrades BEFORE I logged some of this information, so in some cases, you will see the number of fish WITH the Fishing Skill.
If you tap on the little 'i' (Information icon) next to any Float, you will see a list of all the items that you can catch using that Float.
Float Boost

BOOST IS AVAILABLE ONLY FOR RODS AND FLOATS. IT APPEARS THAT THE FLOAT GOES INTO THE NET... TAP ON THE FLOAT AND CHOOSE 'BOOST' FOR ANY ITEM THAT CAN BE CAUGHT USING THAT FLOAT. THE FLOAT DETERMINES THE LIST OF ITEMS THAT CAN BE CAUGHT. THE NET DETERMINES QUANTITY.
Furthermore, I believe the Float Boost is linked to the Attractive Bait Skill so if you do not unlock that, you will not be able to use it with the Floats. You still can use Boost with the Rods with ordinary bait, no matter what!
One catch: you need to use the fish bait dishes made in the Kitchen if you wish to use the Boost with any Float. I have given all those recipes at the end of this post but here are the ones you need:

Promises to Keep Quest and Stickers Collection Mission
Problem with Game Update: If you play both on IOS and Android, you may lose access to your farm until Android has the update, whether or not you are logged into Game Centre or Facebook... one hopes this is a temporary situation.
St. Patrick's Day Farm Beauty Contest: Please note there is a new category for Grandma in the form of 'Pets with Fancy Equipment' and that the system by which Dad gives Votes for 'high level' farm has changed.
I did confirm today that as 12 is maximum number, you need 4 Pets fully equipped both with collars/scarves or whatever and 2 pieces of apparel each. A Buddy Pet is counted, so it would be your four active Pets probably or three active Pets and a Buddy Pet. Not that maths has any bearing on votes where the Farm Beauty Contests are concerned, but 4 x 3= 12. Four Pets wearing 1 piece of equipment and 2 pieces of apparel each would equal 12 and this is confirmed with 12/12 votes from Grandma.
Note that duplicate apparel will count so in this respect, the votes for Pets is not like the votes for Machines or Trees or Animals.
Further, the 'high level' requirement for Dad's vote has changed. At Level 117, received 15 out of 18 votes for a High Level Farm and this leads me to believe that your Sea Resort Level may now count as well as this same Farm has Level 7 Sea Resort. On the other hand, ONLY the original farm is involved in the Farm Beauty Contest until now, so perhaps they simply changed the vote count for high level again. The developers tend to be cryptic where the Farm Beauty Contest requirements are concerned, but I will endeavour to see what is required for maximum votes for 'high level' farm now.
The Spring Vine from the Fortune Hunt Activity is a theme item. It now can be registered and is stackable but not cleanable.
Another change, whether intended or not, is that the Green Base, given by Felicia and which we cannot complete yet, does NOT count in the current Farm Beauty Contest while incomplete. In previous contests, the Base that was listed as a theme item counted even when it could not be registered yet as not completed.
I will try to create a specific post for this Beauty Contest.
Third Material for Green Base:

You will find the third material for the Green Base when you open the Iron and Silver Chests in the Daily Quest Path each day. You therefore can obtain 2 Clover Plants each day for the Green Base.
I need to be more careful when I write late at night. The Sea Plane does NOT count towards the Helicopter task in the Daily Quests path. It is the Order Board that counts as well for this, curiously enough.

St. Patrick's Day Farm Beauty Contest: Please note there is a new category for Grandma in the form of 'Pets with Fancy Equipment' and that the system by which Dad gives Votes for 'high level' farm has changed.
I did confirm today that as 12 is maximum number, you need 4 Pets fully equipped both with collars/scarves or whatever and 2 pieces of apparel each. A Buddy Pet is counted, so it would be your four active Pets probably or three active Pets and a Buddy Pet. Not that maths has any bearing on votes where the Farm Beauty Contests are concerned, but 4 x 3= 12. Four Pets wearing 1 piece of equipment and 2 pieces of apparel each would equal 12 and this is confirmed with 12/12 votes from Grandma.
Note that duplicate apparel will count so in this respect, the votes for Pets is not like the votes for Machines or Trees or Animals.
Further, the 'high level' requirement for Dad's vote has changed. At Level 117, received 15 out of 18 votes for a High Level Farm and this leads me to believe that your Sea Resort Level may now count as well as this same Farm has Level 7 Sea Resort. On the other hand, ONLY the original farm is involved in the Farm Beauty Contest until now, so perhaps they simply changed the vote count for high level again. The developers tend to be cryptic where the Farm Beauty Contest requirements are concerned, but I will endeavour to see what is required for maximum votes for 'high level' farm now.
The Spring Vine from the Fortune Hunt Activity is a theme item. It now can be registered and is stackable but not cleanable.
Another change, whether intended or not, is that the Green Base, given by Felicia and which we cannot complete yet, does NOT count in the current Farm Beauty Contest while incomplete. In previous contests, the Base that was listed as a theme item counted even when it could not be registered yet as not completed.
I will try to create a specific post for this Beauty Contest.
Third Material for Green Base:

You will find the third material for the Green Base when you open the Iron and Silver Chests in the Daily Quest Path each day. You therefore can obtain 2 Clover Plants each day for the Green Base.
I need to be more careful when I write late at night. The Sea Plane does NOT count towards the Helicopter task in the Daily Quests path. It is the Order Board that counts as well for this, curiously enough.

The premium Tree required here is the Gooseberry Bush. The reward is a Stove House Recipe and you will need it fairly early in the traditional Quest sequence.

Register all three before the Quest expires to claim an additional reward in the form of a Clam Friendship Flower as well as the regular rewards (not time-limited) of 88 Green Mystrons and 1 RC.

Fortune Hunt Activity Stage Board Game and Green Base
A new Activity Stage activity has been activated. You will receive 6 free casts of the die daily. Earn more by landing on squares with various tasks. You can purchase an additional three casts of the die for 1 RC. This activity will last almost 9 days.
The rewards are as follows:
1 time round board: 30 Green Mystrons
5 times round board: 10 Yellow Mystrons (in a bag)
12 times round board: Duck Deco
24 times round board: Little Bear Deco
30 times round Board: Spring Vine (not yet added to Gallery, however, for registration)
Note that the only new Reward is the final one.
If you are not familiar with this activity, it is performed by completing the following actions:
Tap the die in the centre of the Board to send the Lab into action. When he lands on a square with a scroll, perform the task indicated to obtain additional casts of the die. There are squares with other rewards as well, such as Mystrons and other items.
The Chest at the bottom right of the screen contains all the Rewards. When it emerges a little from the sand, tap on it to claim whatever Reward you have earned. Rewards are earned by completing an entire lap on the Board.

There is a new Base in the form of the Green Base. Claim the Base itself and six materials from Felicia's Message, then proceed to build it over time. This is a system that veteran players will know well but newer farmers may not have experienced. Essentially, the ability to collect the Materials is time-limited... Until the 9th of March, you will be able to collect the second Material from the Order Board... after that, they will release the third material and that will be linked to another aspect of the game and finally, you will be able to collect the fourth material, linked to yet another aspect of the game. Often one material is linked to Fishing.
The materials are as follows:
6 Branch (Collect with Base from Felicia's Message)
6 White Rock (Collect from Order Board highlighted Order until 9 March)
12 Clover Plant
12 Square Lawn
