Activity Stage Big Dipper Mission

There is a new option in Family Farm Seaside called the Activity Stage.  You will find this on the left side of your farm beyond the Building Area, further north.    You will find all the other new options and Island items in the next post.  Here is a link:

New Update Island Options and Missions

This post deals solely with the Big Dipper Mission on the Activity Stage.  Felicia is calling it The Starry Sky Activity and giving 15 Yellow Mystrons in the Message Box for it.

This consists of an outline of the Big Dipper with a number of steps.  As you complete the steps, the outline begins to light up.

Your Wand is shown at the lower right of the screen.  If it has not been used since reset, you will be able to use it without cost.  Tap the outline of the first star to activate the first part of the Sweet or Salty Mission.  The game will ask you to confirm that you wish to activate the Mission and that, once activated, you have only two hours to complete the three tasks that are associated with it.  (All tasks given below).  When all three tasks are completed, you will be taken automatically to this screen again and the Wand will touch the Star to make it shine.  The little icon shown at the top left of this screen is the Moon Bunny Decoration Reward for completing the Mission.  As Stars in the Big Dipper are lit, the circle round the little icon will turn green progressively to display your progress.

As previously indicated, you have to touch the first star in the Big Dipper outline to activate the first part of the Mission.  The game will ask you to confirm that you wish to activate it, as you will have only 2 hours to complete any step or part.  To reactivate the Wand before reset, you will have to pay 2 RC.

WARNING: One of our administrators, Melissa Elder, kindly deliberately failed to complete all three tasks in one part of the Mission within the 2 hour period to see what would occur at reactivation.  You are forced to perform ALL THREE TASKS AGAIN!  The game does not 'remember' the tasks you completed previously in that part of the Quest.

It is similar to the old Bird Base Decoration Missions, once called Time Machine Missions in that you must tap on the star in the Big Dipper to activate the Wand... at the end, when you have earned the little Moon Bunny Decoration, you must tap on that to send it to your Gift Box.

Steps when activated last only two hours.  If not completed within that time, you must reactivate. From this instruction from the game, I would suggest that players make certain they complete all three tasks within the two hour period... do not leave anything undone or you will be forced to reactivate the Wand to complete the specific part of the Quest completely.

Like many of the newer options in the game, this one requires almost constant attention if you wish to succeed with it.  Like the Boat Orders that give you a limited amount of time to fill a crate, you must complete all three tasks within any step within a 2 hour period or you will be forced to use another precious Wand.  The fact that the entire Mission is limited to an 8 day period means you have to pay RC to speed the process or activate and complete one part of the Mission EVERY SINGLE DAY.

N.B.:  The Clock for the Mission itself will run down whether or not you even visit the Activity Stage.  The 2 hour timer, however, runs down only after you activate any part of the Mission, in this case, any Star in the Big Dipper.

Note from Freyashawk:  A thousand, thousand thanks to all who voted for Freyashawk's Harvest Moon FDC Farm in the last Farm Beauty Contest.  Thanks to your votes, the farm placed 6th worldwide.  Your votes remind me that my work on this site is appreciated.  If you use the site, please consider voting in the Contests for Harvest Moon FDC once your Buddies and Neighbours have the Decoration Reward.

Big Dipper Mission
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(China Mid-Autumn Festival)

The Big Dipper Mission will be available evidently only for the next 7 and a half days now.  It originally probably was an 8 day time frame that began at reset.

You have to touch the first star in the Big Dipper outline to activate the first part of the Mission.  The game will ask you to confirm that you wish to activate it, as you will have only 2 hours to complete any step or part.  To reactivate the Wand before reset, you will have to pay 2 RC.

The subject of the Sweet or Salty Mission is Mooncakes, a traditional delicacy served during the Mid-Autumn Festival in China.

(Mooncakes)

(A photo of the completed Big Dipper in the Activity Stage... see the little shining icon at the top to the left of the Big Dipper title?  That is the final Reward icon for the Moon Bunny Deco.  You must tap on that to send the Moon Bunny to your Gift Box.  From there, it can be placed on your farm.)

(Final Reward: Moon Bunny Decoration on Harvest Moon FDC Farm)

Sweet or Salty? I
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  The Chinese mid-Autumn Festival is approaching.  I'm reading an article about the Mid-Autumn Festival's 'battle' between the North and the South of China.  Do you wish to read the article with me?

Harvest 20 Clover
  Skip for 5 RC

Produce 20 bottles of Milk
  Skip for 10 RC

Collect 5 jars of Honey
  Skip for 5 RC

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  Before this, I knew only that Mooncakes were very popular and available in China only during this Festival!

(On Seaside, we make them all the time!)

When you complete this part, you will be taken automatically to the Activity Stage where the magic wand will activate one Star in the Big Dipper Constellation.  The Wand will be exhausted now until reset, but you can activate it using 2 RC if you wish to push on with the Mission.

Sweet or Salty? II
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  Ah, it's not really a battle but rather a discussion of the different types of Mooncakes made in different provinces in China.  According to old custom, each province has a different flavour preference where Mooncakes are concerned.

Harvest 8 Oranges
  Skip for 8 RC

Produce 8 Jars of Orange Jam
  Skip for 8 RC

Prepare 8 Orange Smoothies
  Skip for 8 RC
Each requires 1 Condensed Milk and 1 Orange Jam

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  I think it is very common for people to have different tastes in food.  Grandma and I have difference preferences where Pumpkin Soup is concerned as well!

BEFORE YOU ACTIVATE THE NEXT STAR, Plant 20 Rye and wait until they are ready to harvest before you use your Wand!

Sweet or Salty III
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  People from the North traditionally have a sweet tooth and will choose from the old traditional flavours of red bean paste, date paste and lotus seed paste.  New flavours such as chocolate and cream cheese have been introduced and are popular now as well.

Harvest 20 Rye
  Skip for 5 RC

Produce 20 sacks of Rye Flour
  Skip for 5 RC
(You can use Gold Finger to collect)

Prepare 6 Pepernoten
  Skip for 6 RC
Each requires 1 Cinnamon and 2 Rye Flour

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  I bet the Cream Cheese one must taste the best!

Sweet or Salty IV
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl: People from the Southern province of Guangzhou like to fill their Mooncakes with lotus seed paste and salty egg yolk.  It may sound strange but the flavour is amazing because soft salty egg yolk lightens the sweet taste of the lotus paste.

Prepare 10 Mooncake Dough
  Skip for 10 RC
Each requires 2 Wheat Flour and 2 Honey

Prepare 5 Sausage Mooncake
  Skip for 5 RC
Each requires 1 Sliced Sausage and 1 Mooncake Dough
Each Sliced Sausage requires 2 Beef Salami and 1 Turkey Sausage

Prepare 5 Ice Cream Mooncake
  Skip for 5 RC
Each requires 1 Grape Ice Cream and 1 Mooncake Dough
N.B.  Make Grape Ice Cream in Ice Cream Machine

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  I heard this is really popular in China!

Sweet or Salty V
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  There is a new flavour rising in popularity called 'Flower Mooncakes' that originated in the South West of China.  They add Ham to make the Mooncakes both sweet and salty.  The Northern people cannot accept this new flavour, however!

Produce 20 Beef
  Skip for 5 RC
  40 OP for Batch Production

Produce 20 Beef Salami
  Skip for 5 RC

Prepare 6 Bowls of Bean Stew
  Skip for 6 RC
Each requires 1 Beef Salami and 3 Green Beans

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  I wonder how they created this combination!

Sweet and Salty VI
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  This is a popular topic of discussion among the Chinese.  People from different provinces wish to prove that THEIR flavours are the best, the most tasty of all, but because of the different food cultures that exist, they may never have even heard of many of the new flavours others are trying!

Fish 3 times with the Squid Hook
  Skip for 3 RC

Process 3 Scallops in the Seafood House
  Skip for 3 RC
Task completes when Scallop enters slot in Seafood House

Produce 5 Smoked Yellow Croakers
  Skip for 5 RC

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  I wonder what other flavours can be described?

Sweet or Salty VII
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darryl:  To me, it does not matter if they are sweet or salty.  I liked the sweet Mooncakes I tried before and now I wish to know what the salty ones taste like.

Craft 6 Clay Facial Masks in the Beauty Shop
  Skip for 6 RC
Each requires 2 Algae Powder, 1 Batter and 1 Distilled Water
Task completes as soon as item enters slot.  Each takes 5 minutes to complete (so you can clear slots for other items)

Craft 3 Milk Facial Masks in the Beauty Shop
  Skip for 3 RC
Each requires 1 Clay Facial Mask, 2 Buffalo Milk and 1 Condensed Milk
Task completes as soon as slots filled but item takes 15 minutes to make

Craft 3 Rose Facial Masks in the Beauty Shop
  Skip for 3 RC
Each requires 1 Clay Facial Mask, 2 Blue Roses and 2 Red Roses
Task completes as soon as slots filled but item takes 15 minutes to make

Reward: 1500 Coins, 150 XP

Darryl:  Anyway, I wish you a very happy Mid-Autumn Festival, dear Farmer!

Final Reward: Moon Bunny Decoration

Wand Activations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you wish to reactivate your Wand before reset, you simply tap on the Wand in the lower right of the Activity Stage Screen.  The game will ask if you wish to activate and wish to pay 2 RC for the privilege.

Mission Icon on Game Screen
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Once activated, you should see an icon for the Mission on the left side of your screen in the same way that you see any icon for any timed Quest.  If, however, you have other active Quests, you may not see this one.  If that occurs, simply go back to the Activity Stage and tap on the Star that you are trying to complete... the task screen will appear again!

New Update with Island Items and more

Below you will find all new Island Items with information about Dev Point requirements, materials needed to build the new Machines and Landmark Decorations as well as any current uses for the new Products.  The Activity Stage Mission has its own post.  Other Facebook Groups are welcome to post a link to this in their groups, but please give Freyashawk credit for any information you use from my site. Thank you!

There are new untimed Misisons linked to the latest update to the game as well as new Island Animals, Machines and a new Island Tree in the form of the Rubber Tree.  There are new Eagle Landmark Decorations as well that increase your Dev Point total.  I originally listed the Missions first but now am giving Update information first here.  There is a new building in the form of the Activity Stage as well that offers time-restricted Missions.  You must distinguish between the new Missions like 'Farm Foresight' and the Activity Stage 'Sweet or Salty?' Big Dipper Mission.

Please be aware that there is NO urgency to the new Missions that automatically appear on the left side of your screen.  'Farm Foresight' is the first of these.  You may see them only if you completed all the other untimed ordinary Missions.  You do not receive special Rewards.  You receive only Coins and XP.  They will not appear in the Lighthouse because they never expire.

One aspect of the new untimed Missions is different from most others: you need a completed Salad Machine for some of the tasks.  If you do not have one, you may wish to buy and complete one.  You can find the materials in the Purple Mystron Shop.

The Activity Stage Missions on the other hand will expire after 8 days from the date of their release. You have only two hours to complete any part of the Mission once you use your Wand to activate it. You receive only one Wand activation per day, but if you wish to complete the Quest faster, you can buy a new activation for 2 RC.  Activity Stage Missions do carry special rewards beyond the usual Coins and XP.  The Big Dipper 'Sweet or Salty?' Mid-Autumn Festival Mission gives a cute little Moon Bunny Decoration.  Please see my specific post about the Activity Stage Mission for photographs and all other details.

As far as the new Island items are concerned, you obviously need access to the Island to be able to explore them.  Moreover, you will need a fairly high Dev Point total for most of them.

Note that the total maximum number of Dev Points has increased, although so far there is no reason to obtain the new maximum.  The three Eagle Landmark Decorations have been added to the game to allow you to increase your Dev Point totals by performing more Helicopter Orders.

Note from Freyashawk: Ultimately I will move the untimed Quests to a page that will give all the new untimed Quests now and in future, and I will incorporate the new Island items into my Island Page.  Until then, however, this will be the comprehensive guide for the latest update, apart from the Starry Sky Activity Stage Quest which you will find in a separate post.

New Update
xxxxxxxxxx

Changes include the following:

Free Rainbow Rain
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Each time you increase your Farm's level, you should receive 1 Rainbow Rain.  Note, however, that if you do not use the Rainbow Rain in the centre top of the screen BEFORE your level increase, you lose that one!  So keep an eye on your XP total when you are close to reaching the next level.

Tree Nursery
xxxxxxxxxxx

Tree Nursery no longer requires individual farm aids.  It actually WORKS now.  You can harvest Trees that are in the Nursery when the harvest time activates... no need to spend extra farm aids like Watering Cans or Super Watering Cans to get anything from this building apart from storage... you can place your Trees in the Tree Nursery and harvest as often as you would if they were on your Farm without any other action.  A little basket will appear above the Tree Nursery now when any Trees are ready for harvest.  Simply tap on it to harvest automatically.

Clean Tickets/Green Tickets
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You only can have 300 'active' Green Tickets on any given day.  Extras you amassed before the update will be found in your Gift Box now.  Unfortunately, any NEW Green Tickets you receive from Log in Rewards or open Pet Chests will be lost if they would increase your total beyond 300... so use the Green Tickets if you can BEFORE claiming rewards.  I find this change annoying personally... it is small-minded.

Buddy Point Changes
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Buddy Points for each Level upgrade have changed as follows:

To reach Level 2: 450 Points
To reach Level 3: 1500 Points
To reach Level 4: 4000 Points
To reach Level 5: 8000 Points
To reach Level 6: 10000 Points
To reach Level 7: 12000 Points
To reach Level 8: 15000 Points

You now receive Buddy Gift Bags from visits that are linked to your Buddy Levels instead of simply receiving the ordinary reward you would receive from any Neighbour visit.

For example, a Level 5 bag contained: 750 Coins, 12 OP, 1 Power, 2 Super Watering Cans, 5 Watering Cans

Level 1 Bag contained: 400 Coins, 8 OP and 1 Red Mystron

NOTE:  You can visit Buddies using Batch visits but you will NOT receive the little Buddy Gift Bags when you do... you only receive the usual Gift Boxes, XP and so on.

Activity Stage
xxxxxxxxxxxx

There is a new Activity Stage on the left side of your screen near the Gallery.  It will be devoted to new timed Missions.  The first is the Big Dipper 'Sweet or Salty' Mission.  A Wand that you need to activate is used to tap on a step in an outline to allow you to begin.  Three tasks to each part of any Mission and you have only 2 hours to complete any part.  Only one Wand is given each day at reset but if you wish to move faster through any Quest, you can purchase a new activation of the Wand for 2 RC.  Please see my Big Dipper Activity Stage post for all tasks and Rewards.

New Items for Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There are Dev Point requirements for all of these but as Harvest Moon FDC has full Dev Points, they did not show up for me.   The following includes all materials needed to build the machines as well as prices, and all products, including all ingredients needed to make them.  It includes Dev Point requirements for ALL the new Island items, including the Rubber Tree.

Many thanks to Aloysius of Dolceacqua Farm for sharing Dev Point requirements for unlocking all new items.

The good news for players is that there finally is a USE for the beautiful Daffodils we have been growing and harvesting for years.  You can use them, once you have sufficient mastery, to make Daffodil Flip Flops.

New Dev Point Total
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The original maximum number of Dev Points that could be achieved was 6500 Dev Points.  Now, that has been increased to 7250.  To reach the 6500 total, you have to build the available Landmark Decorations and then complete sufficient Helicopter Orders.  To reach the new 7250 Dev Point total, the same holds true.  Build the three new Eagle Landmark Decorations and then complete Helicopter Orders until you reach the maximum.  At this point in time, there is no new option that requires 7250 Dev Points but many players like to reach the maximum, irrespective of any practical benefit.

22 September 2017

Little Camper Quest and Marshmallow Collection

A new 11 day Quest has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission that gives a Stove House Recipe in the form of the Stuffed Potatoes Recipe.

NOTE:  Please refresh frequently until I have completed the task lists!  I always publish these as works in progress...  so you may find that Crop Lists and Batch Production Lists are incomplete until all Tasks have been entered...  I work as quickly as possible but have other tasks in the real world, especially on Friday!

This is the work of Freyashawk and you are more than welcome to post a link to this post in your Facebook Group but please always have the grace to give me credit for it.  I spend RC and farm aids to go through the Quests as fast as possible so that other farmers can plan ahead on their farms.

If you find my site helpful, please send as many votes as possible to Freyashawk's farm, Harvest Moon FDC in the Farm Beauty Contest.  It is the best way of showing appreciation for my efforts.

Crop List
xxxxxxxx

40 Corn
40 Cucumbers
40 Cane

Batch Production List
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxzxxx

Note: For the most part, Seaside Batch Production for Animal Products and 1 Ingredient items such as Cheese require 80 OP for 40 Products and 100 OP for 50 Products.  Island Batch Production is more costly.

40 Buffalo Milk
40 Eggs
40 Buffalo Milk Cheese
40 Sugar
40 Rice Flour
50 Turkey
20 Apple Juice
50 Tulip Bouquets
8 Chestnut Flour (Island)
8 Dried Jackfruit (Island)
8 Jackfruit Bread (Island)

Other Tips
xxxxxxxxx

You will need to transport 8 Jackfruit to the Island as a task but you always can make certain you have enough Jackfruit on the Island beforehand to start the Batch Production for making 8 Dried Jackfruit and 8 Jackfruit Bread, two other tasks.

One task requires that you complete all the Orders on the Daily Order Board so if you have not done that prior to the start of the Quest today, wait until the task activates to do it.  Otherwise, you can refresh the Order Board if you are too impatient to wait for reset.

Another task requires that you tend 6 Flowers in the Botanic Garden so you may wish to hold off on that until the task activates, depending again on your level of impatience.

Premium Trees
xxxxxxxxxxxx

Among others:

Licorice Tree (needed for Collection Mission and task recipes) (Registration for Collection Set)

Jackfruit Tree (harvest as task, ingredients in Recipes for tasks as well as Island Machines)
Avocado Tree (ingredients in task Recipes and harvest as task) (Registration for Collection Set)
Chinese Toon Tree (Ingredients in task Recipes and harvest as task)

You always can obtain fruits from Trees from your neighbours but when the Tree is required for a Collection Mission or as part of a Collection Set or one of the tasks in a Quest is to harvest it a specific number of times, it is best to obtain the Tree one way or another and register it.  Every Tree will be required again at some point!

Helpful Tips for New Farmers

Introduction
xxxxxxxxxx

I have written a number of posts like this over the years but the game has changed and expanded so radically that perhaps another is needed.

Family Farm Seaside began as a simple farming game for mobile devices.  Although it was based on the original Family Farm for laptops/computers, it originally had few complications.  A farmer planted and harvested crops, harvested trees, bought and produced various items using Animals and Machines and added neighbours in order to receive free gifts and visits.  Visits to and from neighbours gave rewards that included Coins and XP.  XP allows you to advance in the game by raising your game level.  Initially, however, farmers only unlocked new Crops, Trees, Animals and Machines when levels increased.

Fishing then was added to the game but you had to be at Level 22 to unlock the Pier.  The next new option was an entirely new farm in the form of the Island, unlocked at Level 28.  Farm Beauty Contests initially had no level requirements but now are unlocked only at Level 30.  As your level increases, new permanent Missions appear on the left side of your screen, both on the original Seaside Farm and on the Island.  These permanent Missions are designed as tutorials for the game.

At some point fairly early in the history of the game, they added the Cooking Stand and the Order Board.  The Order Board gives daily Orders that, when filled, give the player rewards that include Blue Mystrons.  The Mystrons were another addition to the game.  Now you have Mystrons in five different colours, each associated with a specific Mystery Mystron Shop.

The Cooking Stand is a time-restricted option that lasts about five weeks.  There are four separate rounds, each of which requires four different Dishes.  You need to place and sell a total of 200 Dishes to complete any Round.  The next Round begins at a set time.  Neighbours who 'eat' at your Cooking Stand receive Rewards in the form of Cooking Bags.  These Bags contain Farm Aids ordinarily. Once in awhile, the game offers a special type of Cooking Bag that contains a material that must be used to complete a time-limited Base or Factory item.

There are time-restricted Missions as well.  They now have a total of 16 parts.  The second half usually requires a higher level than the first.  If you have not unlocked the Mission yet, you may be able to access it later from the Lighthouse.

The concept of cleaning a Neighbour's Decorations was not part of the original game but has been in effect for a few years now.  Visiting a neighbour's farm to fertilise, harvest Crops, eat at the Cooking Stand and clean Decorations is one of the best ways to raise your Level as well as a method by which you obtain Gift Boxes that contain useful farm aids.  Recently, the concept of 'Batch Cleaning' was introduced using Green Tickets.  Using Green Tickets, a Pet can visit up to 20 Neighbours at a time to perform the ordinary Neighbours actions.  You can visit your Buddies as well but there are a few special Buddy actions your Pet cannot perform including the tending of a Buddy Tree and feeding or borrowing a Buddy's Pet.

The simple farming game of the past is almost unrecognisable.  Among other things, players now have Pets who live in a Pet House and service Guests who arrive in groups when invited according to two Maps, each of which has 4 separate regions and 3 levels of Guests.  By completing the Guest orders, you earn Pet Cards that can be exchanged ultimately for new Pets.  At this point in time, there are 11 Pet Slots that you can unlock and use either for Pets that you earn or premium Pets that are sold occasionally in special offers.  The premium Pets have better stats than the ones you earn but are quite costly,

Another Pet function is that of opening the Chests that now appear randomly on your Paths.  Chests contain Farm Aids as well as the Green Tickets that are used for Batch Visits.

The Cooking Stand was the first building for Neighbour interactions with Dishes you prepared on your Farm but now there is a Flea Market/E-Mart where players can buy and sell almost every item in the game.  This has revolutionised the game to some extent.  In the past, the only way to obtain premium items was through purchase of the Tree, Animal, Machine or 'Collectable' that produced it. Now you can request specific items from your Neighbours or find them in the global Flea Market.

With the introduction of the Pet House and Guest Centre, the function of the various Paths, including Water, changed.  They became linked to 'Landscape Points' and the way to maximise these is by placing Decorations with charm value within the sphere of influence of any Path.  Different Paths have different degrees of influence in terms of Landscape Points.  The best are the Macaron Path and the time-restricted Snow Path, each worth 50 Points.  Placing a Base with stackable Decorations on it is the best way to maximise your Landscape Points.

Guest Centre:  Invite one or more groups of Guests in the various Star Levels to earn Pet Cards, Coins and other Rewards

Neighbour/Buddy Visits
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Visit your Buddies and Neighbours: Use Green Tickets for Batch Visits as well as visiting Neighbours individually if you have time

Use your Pets to open Chests on your Paths.  The number of Chests that appear will depend on the number of active Pets you have outside the Pet House and you need to claim an open Chest to generate another.  The maximum number of Chests that can appear on any given day is 40.

Flea Market/E Mart
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Flea Market/E Mart:  Fill all slots in your Flea Market and sell a specific number to obtain a Market Bag containing Farm Aids each day.  This is where new players often become confused.  If you are selling the items in order to obtain the Market Bag, you need to sell to DIFFERENT farmers.  If you do not limit purchases by indicating a restriction in the box in the top right of the market Stand, one farmer can take everything...  Players become irate often with a farmer who buys everything that is on offer so try to limit your purchase to one item even if you could buy more.

There are two very different functions here.  One is earning Coins by selling items to others.  If that is what you wish to do, you should stock your stand with as many items as possible but still limit purchases to one per farmer unless some one sends a specific request to you for an item.  There is

Island Tasks
xxxxxxxxxx

The Island is very different from the original Seaside Farm.  I have written posts about the Island that are fairly comprehensive.  The main point in dealing with the Island is to obtain all possible Crops, Trees, Animals and Machines when they are unlocked and use the Machines to obtain Mastery.  It is Mastery rather than game level that unlocks new products with respect to any Island Machine.  You can use Batch Production on the Island now but it is far more costly than Batch Production on the original Seaside Farm.

Development Points or Dev Points and Island expansions are the other keys to unlocking new options on the Island.

Options that are unlocked through farm Expansions include the Helicopter Pad, the Botanic Garden and the Mine.  Expansions are made in a specific order until you reach the last three plots when you will be able to choose which one to unlock first.

The Boat Pier is another.  It is here that you can send our your Boats with Orders and fetch Neighbour and Buddy Boats to fill Orders.

Being a Good Neighbour
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The first point I would like to make here for ALL farmers is that this is a game.  It is not a job and should not be burdensome.  People play games now for all sorts of different reasons.  Mobile games are becoming more and more popular but your access to the game may depend partly on your life and other real obligations as well as the device on which you play.  A farmer who plays on Kindle may have less access than one who plays on a mobile phone.  Be understanding and patient with your neighbours.

Neighbours once were simply other farmers who played and who could respond to a request for free gifts once each day as well as visiting your farm to perform a limited number of actions.  Now, Neighbours are vital to success and the reason I formed my Facebook group initially (Family Farm Seaside Freyashawk) was to give players access to a good Neighbour list.

The concept of the Buddy as a sort of Super-Neighbour was added to the game a couple of years ago. You can have a maximum of 15 Buddies.  They perform all the usual Neighbour functions as well as having added options, such as the ability to tend special Buddy Trees and to feed and borrow a Pet from you.  The latter can be quite important if you pursue the Pet option to any extent as Guest Lists often include a Guest who will not emerge from the water.  If you do not have a Turtle or Hippo of your own to bargain with such a Guest, you can borrow one from a Buddy, provided your Buddy Level is sufficient to do so.

Buddies have access to the Share Box as well once you reach Level 2 with any Buddy.  This is a menu where you can place items you have won in the Lucky Wheel.  The Decorations offered each month usually are Theme Decorations for the current Farm Beauty Contest.  You can buy them from your own Lucky Wheel if the arrow lands on one but often it is easier to find them in Buddy Share Boxes.

This is a post in progress... will expand upon these options as time permits.

The post about the current timed Mission, the current Farm Beauty Contest and your Farm Birthday can be found below this one.

Here is a link as well:

Farm B & B Quest, School Musical Beauty Contest

I rather wish they had not revived this option but this is yet another of the 'temporary' Guest Groups that usually are associated with special seasonal festivals like Christmas or Easter.  This one is associated with the autumn return to School.
