Below you will find all other aspects of the Island:
Guide now contains ALL Machine building requirements and products as well as more Missions and a new section that gives details about all ingredients used in every Machine.
Below are screenshots of a newly unlocked Island. Thanks to Aloysius Villiers, my cousin, I can show all expansions before they have been unlocked, as well as the position of the Botanic Garden and the Mine. From left to right, the three unfinished areas above the actual expansions will be the site of the Helicopter Pad, the Botanic Garden and the Mine. All of these are unlocked automatically when you complete the expansion next to them.
Photograph above shows the land without any of the expansions having been unlocked. At the top centre of this photograph you will see the Mine and to the left of it, the site of the Botanic Garden (area with a few steps between two green hedges) and to the left of that, not in this photograph, is the site of the Helicopter Port. The first expansion is the one that has a cluster of Trees on it. These are four Oak Trees.
A photograph giving a view of the locked expansions. You can see all the Machines and the Warehouse as well as the expansion that has four Oak Trees on it, which is the first expansion you can unlock. The second expansion is NOT the one that is to the left of the first, but the one that is next to the unfinished Helicopter Pad. When you complete the second expansion, you automatically unlock the Helicopter Pad (and it will be complete!) as well as gaining your first Loom. It is the third expansion that will give you your Workshop. It is the building with the little red roof and is complete when you obtain it.
Another view of all expansions from a distance.
Above is a photograph of the Helicopter Pad, still locked as well as the first three expansions you can complete. The first is the one with the cluster of four Oak Trees. This is an easy expansion to unlock. There are no machines on this one, however. The second expansion is NOT the one directly above it, but rather the one that unlocks the Helicopter Pad. There is an unfinished Loom on this one and when unlocked, you will have automatic access to the Helicopter Pad.
Below, you will see the expansions from a distance with their extras... machines and so on. The fourth expansion will give you an unfinished Essential Oil Machine and the fifth will give you an unfinished Dehydrator. The sixth expansion has an unfinished Flavoured Bread Machine on it and it is this expansion that unlocks the Botanic Garden automatically. The last three expansions can be unlocked in any order you choose, but it is the 7th that has the Volcano from which you can collect Power every few hours and it is this expansion that unlocks the Mine automatically. The 8th expansion to the right of it has the unfinished Tea Master on it and the final expansion has an unfinished Warehouse on it.
The fifth expansion has an unfinished Essential Oil Machine on it and the sixth has an unfinished Flavoured Bread Machine. The

information about all aspects of the Island, including all Missions,
Expansions, Item Values and general strategy for Island gameplay. Market Item Requirements and prices are included as well.
Introduction to the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Island is a second farm in Family Farm Seaside with its own Crops, Trees, Animals, Machines and Decorations and its own rules. Although there is the ability to transport yourself and goods between the two farms, you cannot place Seaside items on the Island or Island items on the original Seaside Farm.
I probably should state
that I do not work for FunPlus. My guides are based on my own gameplay
experience. Sometimes I make errors, but I always try to correct them.
I log all my results and include them in my guides. This is the same
way I wrote guides for Harvest Moon and Rune Factory for many years. I
hope my Island guide will prove helpful to other farmers.
In order to unlock the Island to gain
access, you will need to complete a puzzle that consists of six
different pieces. Unlock each piece by completing the three specific
required tasks as follows:

Skip for 99 RC?
Note
that in some cases, I have not included the RC price for 'skipping' the
step because my farm had the requirement before the Island was offered.
When
you have collected all the Puzzle Pieces, the Island will be unlocked.
As soon as you arrive, you will be able to start new Missions that
involve both Felicia and her father.
Gameplay on the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Gameplay
on the
Island is very different from the original Seaside Farm although farming
in terms of growing Crops is the same. The biggest difference is that
of the 'Dev points' that are required to unlock new Crops, Animals,
Machines and Decorations. These points can be earned evidently by
completing Helicopter Orders or by completing specific Island Quests.
The
other main difference is in the way purchases
are limited to a specific number of Items of any type. For example,
you can purchase a total of four Hardware Stores. Some are limited to a
total of four, others to seven. The first has a coin price in many
cases but some of the others may have an RC price. This is true of most
of the Items on the
Island. Furthermore, new Items even with coin prices must be unlocked
by amassing a specific number of Dev. Points in most cases.
Travel to and from the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
When
you arrive at the Island, you may not know how to return to the Seaside
Farm. You transport goods back and forth by zeppelin but although
Felicia speaks of taking the zepplin herself, all you have to do is to
tap on the little Island Icon in the top right corner of your screen.
The same icon is used for travel to the Seaside Farm and to the Island
Farm from the Seaside Farm.
Displaying your Progress
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If
you wish to see your current total in terms of Dev Points, simply tap
on the Star in the upper left of the screen that shows your current
Level of Experience. You will see the name of your Farm the number of
XP Points you need to reach the next Level, number of Neighbours who
'Like' your Farm and finally, your current Dev Point total. 5000 is the
highest possible total for Dev Points in this game at present.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Seaside Items and Island Items
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
For
those of us who craved more space for our Decorations, Machines and
Trees, the Island offers NO solution whatsoever. It is impossible to
place Seaside Farm Items on the Island and impossible to place Island
Items on the Seaside Farm. We have two separate farms with very
different attributes and items rather than another Farm that can be used
for excess Seaside Items. I am a little disappointed by this
personally but hope they will offer another Seaside expansion soon as my
original Farm is densely overpopulated!
Arrival at the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Quest sequences begin immediately upon your arrival but you will have ability to purchase and use a few other items as well without earning Development Points that usually accompany any new option on the Island.
The Crops that will be available are: Cassava, Alfalfa, Flax, Cranberry and Daffodils.
Trees available from the start are the Oak and the Chestnut.
Animals are but one in the form of the Mohair Goat.
Machines are the Watermill, the Spinning Machine and the Loom.
Buildings are the Hardware Store and the Sawmill.
No Decorations from the Market will be unlocked although you will be able to earn Island Decorations from the time-restricted Quests.
To obtain any other items on the Island, you either need to complete Expansions or earn the required number of Development Points.
Quick Question and Answer Guide

Quick Questions and Answers for the Island
Tips for Quick Progress from the Start
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Island progress is based on huge amounts of production. Using Machines results in the Mastery needed to be able to make more products in those machines. Cutting Trees for Wood is necessary for many different uses. Animal products are needed for many different uses as well. Whenever you access your item, make as many items as possible and use as many of the Animals and Machines as possible.
The earliest expansions and completion of Machines can be made easier if you have the items required. The first expansion is almost effortless and gives you 4 Oak Trees but you can buy another one in the Market for 2000 Coins. If you purchase that tree immediately, you can begin to cut wood and process it into Wooden Cylinders in the Sawmill immediately. The requirements for the 1st expansion are that you purchase and place a Sawmill and collect 15 Mohair Yarn by feeding Mohair into the Spinning Machine. You will need 20000 Coins as well but this is a simple achievement. For the 2nd Expansion, you will need to use the Sawmill. You will need a total of 10 Wooden Cylinders to unlock the 2nd expansion. When you complete the 2nd expansion, you will have an unfinished Loom and a working Helicopter Pad. The Loom will require the following crafted materials to complete: 5 Lag Bolts, 3 Nails, 20 Nuts. It also requires 5 Warp Beams that you need to request from your neighbours. My point here is that the number of materials needed is significant, especially if you have only one Hardware Store. Purchasing a second is very helpful but requires 5 RC. If you begin to craft Lug Bolts, Nails and Nuts even before you make the expansion, you will be able to move forward faster in the Quests.
Incidentally, I have two Sawmills and two Hardware Stores simply because the products from both are required constantly in large quantities. For the purchase of a 2nd Sawmill, you have to pay 6 RC. For a 2nd Hardware Store, you need to pay 5 RC. If you can afford it, this investment is literally worth its weight in gold. (Later you can process Gold Ore from the mine in the Hardware Store.)
I actually wrote the total number of items required for all the Island Expansions in another section of this post. It is staggering. If you constantly produce items on the Island using all the available Machines and Buildings, you will progress faster, even though you do not earn Dev Points in so doing. You do earn regular XP of course.
Daffodils are the newest Island crop and at this point in time, they still have no use in terms of processing. They do not have any Dev Point requirement, however and are available from the start. Daffodil bulbs cost 120 Coins each and take only 4 hours to mature. You have to ship them to the mainland before you can sell them, but you can sell them for 128 Coins each. 8 Coins may not appear to be much profit, but if you grow them constantly and ship them constantly, it adds up. The fact that they are not needed for anything at present means that you can sell them all... Although other Crops may give greater profit, they will be needed for use in processing and the ones that give the most profit as Crops usually take the longest time to mature.
Early Crop values are:
Daffodils: 120 Coins, sell for 128 Coins
Flax: 70 Coins, sell for 73 Coins
Alfalfa: 39 Coins, sell for 40 Coins
Cassava: 148 Coins, sell for 156 Coins
Cranberry: 122 Coins, sell for 134 Coins
Garlic: 88 Coins, sell for 100 Coins
Garlic is not needed until you have a Flavoured Bread Machine but it takes 9 hours to mature so even though the profit is greater at 12 Coins, I believe Daffodils make more sense for a choice of Cash Crop.
Real progress on the Island only begins when you unlock the 2nd expansion with its Helicopter Pad. It is through the filling of Helicopter Orders as well as many of the future Quests that you earn the Dev Points needed for real advancement.
As soon as the Helicopter Pad is unlocked, you can begin to fill orders. You will see a total of 4 Orders on the screen, each of which consists of 2 different items that can be Seaside Items, Island Items or a combination of both. If you do not like any specific Order, you can delete it and a new one will take its place in 10 Minutes. You can pay RC to speed the arrival of a new Order when one is deleted. Filling an Order, however, instantly results in the arrival of a new Order on the Board. The value of these Orders in Dev Points decreases as you fill them. Only the first two on any given day are worth 10 Dev Points each. I have given the values of each Order in another section of this guide but for the most part, it is only the first 6 that are worth filling at all. You can fill 2 for 10 Dev Points each and 4 more for 5 Dev Points each on any given day. Try always to earn at least 20 Dev Points by filling two of the Orders. This constitutes one of the Daily Quests on your Daily Quest path as well so is useful in other ways apart from giving you Dev Points.
Note here that it is only when you have unlocked the Island that you will be able to reach the end of your Daily Quest path daily by completing the Island tasks that are situated between the Silver Treasure Chest and the Gold Treasure Chest. This allows you a total of three Treasure Chests each day, each of which will contain valuable Farm Aids, including Power, OP and now Lucky Tokens as well. The Gold Treasure Chest tends to contain the greatest number of items. One of the tasks requires use of the Mine and you will not have that option until you have completed one of the last three expansions on the Island. You still can obtain the Gold Treasure Chest each day but only if you complete every other quest on the path!
Transport is an enormous part of Island action. There are few items that can be sold if you do not transport them to the mainland first. The only exceptions are the Landmark Decorations that you will unlock when you have a total of 2500 Dev Points. Once you complete a Landmark Decoration, you can place it on the Island and then use the Sell option to sell it instantly. It can be a good source of income later but for now, you will be limited to items that you transport back to the Mainland as well as the Coins earned when any Helicopter Order is completed.
Try to keep your Zeppelins in use at all times. I am terrible where this is concerned. I find the process tedious for some reason and therefore do not earn as many Coins as I could on any given day. I tend to send items only when they are needed to fill an Order on the Daily Order Board on the mainland or a Helicopter Order on the Island. This is rather careless on my part but I no longer really NEED Coins for anything as I have all the expansions and Coin Decorations and so on. When you first unlock the Island, however, you need to begin to amass vast quantities of coins for future expansions. Transport of items such as Daffodils on a regular basis is worth the effort. Furthermore, once you unlock the Pie Machine, you will need to send huge quantities of Honey to the Island. It is used as an ingredient in more than one Machine. If you begin to send it even before you need it, you will find yourself in a better position later.
A list of all the Mainland items needed on the Island is given elsewhere in this post. It is useful to refer to i8t periodically.

Strategies for Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Initially,
I
made a possible error when I unlocked the Island by purchasing and
using all
possible new Items immediately. This is a mistake insofar as all the
Quests are tutorials to teach you how to use the various Items and
options. For example, I harvested all my Oak Trees so when I reached
the Quest that required me to harvest Oak Trees, they no longer were
ready for harvest. And so on and so forth. Best not to do anything
initially at least in terms of harving Wood Trees, a harvest that cannot
be speeded with Watering Cans, until you are told to perform the task
in a Quest if you wish
to move
forward as quickly as possible. Once you have expanded to the
Helicopter, it does not really matter any longer as there will be enough
to do without anticipating future tasks for Quests.
There is one action,
however, that should be performed as often as possible in order to make
progress. Use your Machines as much as you can to obtain Mastery. It
is Mastery that unlocks the ability to make new Items where any Machine
is concerned. You will need 1 Star Mastery at least to complete
specific Quests as well on the Island.
At first I
thought that one could not choose which Neighbour's Farm to visit, but
in fact, one can. When you open the Neighbour Menu, look at the top
right. There is a new option to: Visit Island First. Unmark this
option if you wish to visit the Neighbour's original Seaside Farm
instead. There is one important reason why you may wish to visit the
oriiginal Farm rather than the Island at this point in time. Although
there are cleanable Decorations available in the Market for the Island,
they can be unlocked only when the Farmer has amassed a significant
number of Dev. Points. You therefore may find no cleanable Decorations
on the Island Farms where the same Farmer may have a large number of
cleanable Decorations as well as Cooking Stand Dishes on the original
Farm.
The two basic keys to making progress on the
Island are Dev. Points and Mastery. Mastery is earned by using specific
Machines or Crafting in a Craft Building. Dev. Points are earned by
completing Helicopter Orders and some Quests. Helicopter Orders are
very similar to the Daily Orders on the Seaside Farm, except for the
fact that each Helicopter Order requires time to complete and only one
can be completed at a time. They tend to take about 20 minutes each. Note that when the Dev Point total was increased to 6500, Landmark Decorations were introduced in the Market. These need to be built and the first of each type will increase your ability to earn more Dev Points through Helicopter Orders. Yes, it is absurdly complicated. Originally, the Landmark Decorations themselves gave additional Dev Points but now they simply increase your ability to earn more through the Helicopter Orders. A list of the Landmark Decorations and the items required to build them is given at the end of this guide.
When to Skip Tasks and when not to Skip Tasks
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There
are two reasons why I log all the Quests/Missions in Family Farm
Seaside. One is to allow other Farms the luxury of anticipating the
Items/Ingredients they may need in the near future. The other is to
allow other Farmers to judge whether or not it is worthwhile to use RC
to skip a task.
There are times when you may wish to
use RC to skip a task. If it is not expensive and if, having skipped
the task, you can complete the current Quest and immediately move
forward through the next, you may find it helpful to do so. After all,
Dev Points are earned primarily through completion of Missions on the
Island. There are other times when it does not make any sense
whatsoever. I have reached a situation in my game where it would not
make sense to skip any of the tasks in the current Missions because I
probably could not move forward even if I did.
Here
were the Tasks I needed to complete at one point in my game: Emergency
Procedure III and Expanding the House I. The first of these required
that I have a total of 1200 Dev Points, Buy a Dehydrator and Build a
Dehydrator. Note that you can obtain a Dehydrator instead by completing
one of the expansions and it will satisfy the task requirement.
Where
this Mission is concerned, I had completed the two tasks that are
centred on the Dehydrator. You cannot BUY a Dehydrator until you have
obtained a total of 1200 Dev Points but you can obtain the first one by
making an Island Expansion. I did this some times ago and had been
using my Dehydrator to make the 300 Raisins required for the next
Expansion.
In this case, i could skip the Dev Point
requirement by using 23 RC. Without knowing what the next Mission in
the sequence would require, I did not know if this would make sense or
not. Still, it probably would be better to earn a few more Dev Points
through Helicopter Orders before I even considered the option as the
price of skipping this task depended on the total earned. Players who
read this now have access to information about all the Missions as they
are included in a section of this Guide.
As it
transpired, the very next Mission required that you make 25 Raisins and
25 Dried Cranberry in the Dehydrator. As I needed to make a total of
300 Raisins for the next Island Expansion, it DID make sense to use RC
to skip the 1200 Dev Point task in order to move forward, allowing me to
make Raisins both for the Emergency Procedure IV Mission and at the
same time, add to the total made for the next Expansion.
The
other Mission I had to complete at that time was 'Expanding the House
I' which required a total of 1120 Dev Points and having 2 Red Sanders
Trees.
Here it absolutely did not make sense to skip
the tasks as you need a total of 1100 Dev Points to unlock the Sanders
Tree in the Market unless the next Mission is one that I can complete.
Until I knew what that one entailed or at least came close to that Dev
Point target, skipping the Dev Point total requirement for this mission
probably would be an unnecessary waste of RC. Mind you, the cost of
skipping the two tasks is fairly low, amounting to a total only of 4 RC.
The
next Mission in the sequence, Expand the House II required that I
expand to Plot 8, Finish 30 Helicopter Orders and Harvest 4 Red
Sandalwood.
The player who 'skipped' the tasks in the
previous Mission, not having 1120 Dev Points yet, will not be able to
complete THIS task, as the Red Sanders Tree is unlocked at 1100 Dev
Points and you need to harvest one four times. In my case, I had
expanded to Plot 8 previously and the idea of making a start on a task
that required a total of 30 Helicopter Orders to complete was positive.
I therefore did not regret 'skipping' the two tasks in Expand the House
I. Possibly, though, if I had known the tasks in the next Mission in
advance, I would have waited to earn the required Dev Points.
Unfortunately,
unless you can earn Dev Points through Mission completion, you will
earn them very slowly through the only other method which is completion
of Helicopter Orders. I believe that the greatest number that can be
earned in any given day (from midnight to midnight) is 78 Dev Points.
At a current Dev Point total of 975, it will ake me about a week to
reach 1120 Dev Points.
In this case, where one of the
current Missions requires the completion of a total of 30 Helicopter
Orders, it does make sense to complete as many as possible in a single
day, even when the Dev Point Reward decreases to the point where it
becomes totally insignificant.
Meanwhile, there is
another reason to complete Helicopter Orders apart from the Dev Point
Reward. Even when the Dev Point Reward diminishes to 1 Dev Point per
Order, you will earn Coins by completing the Order. I had a
considerable amount of Coins when I first unlocked the Island but it has
decreased very quickly. The Island is an expensive place. Every Nail
or Leg Bolt that you make in your Hardware Store has a Coin Price
attached to it. There is plenty or space to grow Crops but once
harvested, the only way to sell them is by transporting them to the
Seaside Farm. This requires the Zeppelin and with the need to transport
Items FROM the Seaside Farm for use in the various Machines on the
Island as well as Helicopter Orders, it is difficult to transport Island
items in bulk to replenish Coin totals. Best, of course, to use the
Island Items in Island Machines and then transport the Products... but
again, one has to balance the need to earn Coins from Island Products
with the need to obtain more Items from the Seaside Farm.
It
is important to remember that these are NOT time-restricted Missions.
You can take your time. When gameplay becomes too stressful or frantic,
it no longer is much fun. I tend to move too quickly for my own good
when I am writing a guide, spending more RC than is truly necessary.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Seaside Items Needed for Island Machines
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You
can begin to collect Seaside Items on the Island even before you are
able to use them in the Island Machines. As Zeppelins are limited and
transport of Items always takes time, it is good to know which Items you
will need in the future.
As a general rule, there are two
Items that should be transported regularly, at least until you have
earned 3 Star Mastery of the Pie Machine and Yogurt Machine. These are
Honey and Goat Milk, required ingredients in these Machines. Honey is
required to make any type of Pie and any type of Yogurt and Goat Milk is
required to make any type of Yogurt.
The
following Items will be needed on the Island in Machine Production to
complete Missions in the early stages of Island gameplay:
Honey (use in Pie Machine and in Yogurt Machine)
Wool (use in Loom and Spinning Machine)
Cotton (use in Loom)
Lavender (use in Essential Oil Machine)
Red Rose (use in Essential Oil Machine)
Blue Rose (use in Essential Oil Machine)
Love Fruit (use in Pie Machine)
Goat Milk (use in Yogurt Machine)
Grapes (use in Dehydrator)
Peacock Feathers (use in Hat Machine)
Goose Feathers (Use in Hat Machine)
Note
that some of these Items, like Honey and Goat Milk, are necessary
ingredients if you wish to use the Machine at all and that others, like
the Lavender and Love Fruit, are used to make particular types of Items
in an Island Machine. There are other Items that are used in Island
Machines that may not be involved in early Quests but which must be
transported from the Seaside Farm in order to be used in Island
Machines. Many ARE required for advanced Missions. These include the following:
Daisy (use in Essential Oil Machine)
Tulip (use in Essential Oil Machine)
Lily (use in Essential Oil Machine and in Flower Basket Machine)
Sunflower (use in Essential Oil Machine)
White Rose (use in Flower Basket Machine)
Jasmine (use in Flower Basket Machine)
Pink Rose (use in Flower Basket Machine)
Angora Hair (ise in Loom)
Alpaca Hair (use in Loom)
Horse Hair (use in Loom and in Hat Machine)
Jackfruit (use in Dehydrator and Flavoured Bread Machine)
Strawberry (use in Pie Machine, Dehydrator and Flavoured Bread Machine)
Lemon (use in Dehydrator and Tea Master)
Banana (use in Pie Machine and in Dehydrator)
Pineapple (use in Yogurt and Pizza Machine)
Apricot (use in Pie Machine)
Blueberry (use in Pie Machine and use in Yogurt)
Chocolate (use in Pie Machine and Yogurt Machine)
Peach (use in Pie Machine and in Yogurt Machine)
Blackberry (use in Yogurt Machine)
Pear (use in Pie Machine)
Pumpkin (use in Pie Machine)
Watermelon (use in Yogurt Machine
Peacock Feathers (use in Hat Machine)
Ketchup (use in Hot Dog Machine)
Beef Salami (use in Hot Dog Machine)
Pork Sausage (use in Hot Dog Machine)
Venison Sausage (use in Hot Dog Machine)
Peacock Feathers (use in Hat Machine)
Goose Feathers (use in Hat Machine)
Ostrich Feathers (use in Hat Machine)
Cheddar Cheese (use in Pizza Machine)
Red Bell Pepper (use in Pizza Machine)
Mushroom (use in Pizza Machine)
Onion (use in Pizza Machine)
Ice Cube (use in Tea Master)
Elderberry (use in Tea Master)
Maple Sugar (use in Tea Master)
Items Needed for Expansions:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You
will need large quantities of specific Items to complete required Tasks
for Island Expansions. Here are all of the Items you will need to
complete all current Island Expansions:
15 Mohair Yarn
Feed Alfalfa to the Angora Goat, then process the Mohair in the Spinning Machine
10 Wooden Cylinders
Harvest Oak Tree for Oak Wood, then process in the Sawmill
30 Cassava Flour
Harvest Cassava, then process in Watermill
50 Linen
Harvest Flax, then process in Loom
50 Angora Hair Yarn
Feed Carrots to Angora Rabbit on Seaside Farm, transport Angora Hair to Island, then process in Spinning Machine
75 Woolen Cloth
Feed Wheat to any Seaside Sheep, transport to Island, then process in Loom (need 1 Star Mastery)
20 Wooden Planks
Harvest Cedar Tree for Cedar Wood, then process in the Sawmill
40 Camomile Aroma Bottles
Harvest Camomile, craft Wooden Aroma Bottles in the Workshop using Wool
Yarn (x 2) and Cedar Wood, transport both Camomile and Wooden Aroma
Bottles to the Seaside, craft Camomile Aroma Bottles in Beauty Shop,
then transport finished Camomile Aroma Bottles back to the Island (Each
Camomile Aroma Bottle is made using 1 Wooden Aroma Bottle, 1 Camomile
Essential Oil and 1 Distilled Water, harvested from Water Fountain or
requested from neighbours)
150 Love Fruit Pies
Transport
Love Fruit and Honey to the Island and make Love Fruit Pies in the Pie
Machine using Love Fruit, Cassava Flour (made in Watermill) and Honey
300 Raisins
Transport Grapes from the Seaside Farm and process them in the Dehydrator
300 Peacock Hats
Transport Peacock Feathers from the Seaside, feed Camel Cactus to
produce Camel Hair and make Peacock Hats in the Hat Machine using Camel
Hair and Peacock Feathers
500 Zucchini Bread
Harvest
Zucchini, make Dried Zucchini in the Dehydrator, harvest Chestnuts from
the Chestnut Tree and process in Watermill to make Chestnut Flour, then
add Chestnut Flour and Dried Zucchini to the Flavoured Bread Machine
500 Violet Essential Oil
Harvest Violets and process in the Essential Oil Machine (requires 3 Star Mastery)
200 Strawberry Pies
Transport Strawberries from Seaside, then make Strawberry Pies in the
Pie Machine using Strawberries, Honey and Cassava Flour (process Cassava
in the Watermill) (Strawberry Pies require 3 Star Mastery to make in
the Pie Machine
220 Make-Up Boxes
Transport Starfish
Mirros from Seaside and craft Make-up Boxes using Wooden Plank made in
the Sawmill from Cedar Wood and Starfish Mirror (Each Starfish Mirror
requires 2 Lavender Bouquets made with Lavender in the Flower Packing
Machine, 1 Dried Starfish made by processing Starfish in the Seafood
House and 1 Glass, a Free Gift)
60 Coral Dressing Tables
Transport Coral Rose Mirrors from the Seaside and craft Coral Bressing
Tables in the Workshop using Coral Rose Mirror and Wooden Panel made in
the Sawmill using Red Sandalwood cut from the Red Sanders Tree (Each
Coral Rose Mirror is made using 2 Red Rose Bouquets made with Red Rose
in the Flower Packing Machine, 1 Polished Coral Twig, a Bonus item from
Coral processed in the Seafood House, and 1 Glass, a Free Gift)
800 Stetsons
Feed Carrots to Horse on Seaside Farm, transport Horse Hair to the
Island and craft Stetsons in the Hat Machine using Horse Hair (requires 3
Star Mastery)
There
is no doubt that many of the Seaside Items will be required again and again for Missions at
some point and could be included in Helicopter Orders at ANY point in
time.
Note that your ability to use any Ingredient will
depend upon your Mastery Level of the Machine you are using. It would
be practical therefore to transport the ingredients that require the
least Mastery first and only transport those that require 3 Star Mastery
later.
Honey, being a required ingredient in two
Machines that you will obtain early in your Island progress, should be
transported as often as possible. I sometimes prefer to transport a
small amount frequently instead of loading the zeppelin with a large
amount, simply because that gives me more options. When a zeppelin is
on a 24 hour trip, for example, you will be unable to use it until that
time period has elapsed, where a zeppelin that is on a transport trip
that will take only a couple of hours will be free to transport
something else after that time period.

Helicopter Order Items
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Although
the Items required to complete Helicopter Orders, like the Daily Orders
on Seaside, probably are generated randomly to some extent, I have
found that the same Items appear again and again. There are a total of
four Orders on the Helicopter Order Board and each consists of two
different Items. For the most part, only one of the four will consist
of Island Items. The Items required tend to be Machine Products or
Cooked Dishes. As the same Items do appear to be repeated frequently, I
suggest that players, when shipping a required Item from Seaside to the
Island to fill a Helicopter Order, may wish to send double the amount
required, so as to have the Item on stock for a future Order as well.
Note
that the time of transport will depend on the type of item being
shipped. Crops take 1 minute per Crop to ship and Items harvested from
Trees take 2 minutes per Fruit. Animal Products take 4 minutes per
item while Machine products take 5 minutes per item and Cooked Dishes
take 8 minutes per item. Collectables likewise take 8 minutes per
item. Raw seafood take 6 minutes per item and finally, processed
Seafood as well as Beauty Shop items take 10 minutes per item to ship.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Helicopter Orders and Dev Points
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Helicopter Orders will give you Dev Points as well until you have achieved the new Dev Point Total of 6500 Dev Points. At this point, it will begin to give you 1 Helicopter Bag instead. These contain farm aids of a fairly low value although, if you save your Helicopter Bags unopened until you have 100 of them and then open them all at once, you will receive 1 RC as well as the farm aids. This information is courtesy of a member of my Family Farm Seaside Freyashawk Group, Olga Dzhus.

Materials to Build Machines on Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Unlike
some of the Machines you buy on the original Seaside Farm, almost ALL
the Machines you buy or obtain through Farm Expansions on the Island
will be incomplete. Each will have its own specific Materials List. In
almost every case, one of the Materials can be requested from your
Neighbours but the others must be made in the Hardware Store. Even the
Machines that require RC to purchase will be incomplete upon purchase
and you will find that the number of Materials needed is significant.
You will need some of the same Materials if you wish to build new
Zeppelins as well.
Note please that materials that you can craft on the Island all have their own Dev Point requirements. If you have not been able to unlock an item needed to complete an Island machine, look in the Mystery Shops. For example, the Screwdriver costs 1 RC if you cannot craft it but you can find it randomly in the Coin Mystery Shop for 6900 Coins.
Although you can own more
than one of every type of Machine or Building on the Island, the
Hardware Store is one of the very few where I feel the farmer truly
benefits from owning two. Even the Machines that are available
initially requires quite a few Nails, Lag Bolts and Nuts. For example,
to build a Loom, you will need the following Materials:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Loom Materials List
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
5 Warp Beams (Request from Neighbour or buy for 1 RC each)
5 Lag Bolts (Craft or purchase for 1 RC each)
3 Nails (Craft or purchase for 1 RC each)
20 Nuts (Craft or purchase for 1 RC each)
This
is nothing compared to the Materials List for some of the Machines.
Furthermore, the Materials that you craft in your Hardware Store can be
sold for a fair amount of Coin if you transport them to the Seaside
Farm, although personally I think you should ssve them all for use in
building projects.
Here are some more Materials Lists:

Warehouse
xxxxxxxxxx
It
is the Island Warehouse and not the Seaside Farm Warehouse that can be
registered in your Gallery. The Island Warehouse will not be found in
the Market. In an unfinished state, you will find it on the final
Island Expansion, Plot 12. When you have completed the Expansion, you
will be able to build your Warehouse.
The first step is
to hire three employees. You can do this either by inviting three
Neighbours to work for you or by paying 5 RC for each employee as
follows:
Warehouse Manager: Invite or pay 5 RC
Warehouse Guard I: Invite of pay 5 RC
Warehouse Guard II: Invite or pay 5 RC
Note
that, should your invitations be accepted, you will not see this when
you access your Gifts. You will discover only when you tap on the
Warehouse whether or not your Neighbours have accepted the three
positions. I do believe that there is no difference between the three
in terms of requests but I cannot be certain as I tapped on 'Invite' for
all three positions, asking a few Neighbours to accept each.
Once
you have your three employees, your Warehouse will be complete, with a
storage capacity of 10 items. It is organised in the same way your
original Seaside Warehouse is organised with a tab for each type of
Item.
You can increase the capacity of your Island
Warehouse in the same way you can increase the capacity of the original
Seaside Warehouse by obtaining the required materials. To increase
storage capacity to 20, you will need the following:
Tile x 20 (Request as Free Gift or pay 1 RC for each)
Nut x 15 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Lag Bolt x 15 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Nail x 15 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Unfortunately,
you cannot transfer Seaside Items stored in your Warehouse there to the
Island Warehouse. At this point in time, it is unlikely that many
Farmers will need even the 10 slots in their Island Warehouse!
In many cases, such as the Zeppelin project, you will find that you need MORE Materials when you attempt to build another one.
Zeppelin Materials List
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Here are Zeppelin Material requirements:
You
will begin with two Zeppelins. To add a third, you must build it or
pay a total of 99 RC to skip the requirements for materials. Materials
are:
20 Rope (Request from Neighbours as Free Gift or pay 1 RC each)
25 Nuts ( Craft or pay 1 RC each)
25 Lag Bolts (Craft or pay 1 RC each)
25 Nails (Craft or pay 1 RC each)
Whjen you have completed the third zeppelin, you will be able to build another using the following Materials:
Rope x 35 (Request from Neigbhours or pay 1 RC for each)
Nail x 50 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Lag Bolt x 50 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Cart x 2 (2 RC each)
Skip all for instant completion with 139 RC
When the 4th Zeppelin is complete, you will have the option to build a fifth as follows:
Rope x 50 (Request from Neighbours or pay 1 RC for each)
Wrench x 40 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Nail x 50 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Zeppelin Shell Cloth x 2 (6 RC each)
Note that you will be unable to craft some of the Items, such as the Wrench, until you have gained Dev Points on the Island.
Hardware Store Crafting
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Here is a list of the Materials you can make in the Hardware Store with the value and price of each:
Crosscut Saw: 0 Coins
Cost of crafting: 25 Coins
Nut: 110 Coins
Cost of crafting: 100 Coins
Lag Bolt: 675 Coins
Cost of crafting: 650 Coins
5 Minutes to complete
Nail: 1256 Coins
Cost of crafting: 1200 Coins
12 Minutes to complete
Wrench: 7220 Coins
Cost of crafting: 7000 Coins
1 Hour to complete
Screwdriver: 13800 Coins
Cost of crafting: 13500 Coins
1 1/2 hours to complete
Tip:
If you decide that you wish to buy some of the Materials needed to
complete a Machine or Building project, buy the ones that have the
greatest Coin price and take the longest to complete. After all, if
each Material costs 1 RC, it is better to obtain the most for your
premium cash! In other words, if Wrenches are needed, those are the
Materials you should buy with RC instead of paying RC to buy Nails! The
more expensive the Material, the longer it takes to craft as well,
providing another reason to use your RC to purchase the most expensive
Materials.
OP and Batch Production on Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
At
this point in time, there is no option for Batch Production on the
Island. You can use OP to speed the completion of a product being made
in a Machine or a Building such as the Hardware Store but it is an
expensive affair. Where the OP needed to complete a product on the
original Seaside Farm would be 10 OP, it is 30 OP if you wish to
complete a product in a Machine on the Island. Where any Hardware Store
product is concrned, the cost of speeding the process depends on the
actual Item being crafted. The more expensive the cost of the Item, the
longer it takes to craft and the more OP it willr require to speed
completion.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Seaside Trees and Island Trees
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
On
the Seaside Farm, so far all Trees have been the sort that one can
harvest forever for products. Trees can take different times to
mature. Some can be harvested every four hours while others take
longer. Watering Cans can be used to speed the process where every Tree
on the Seaside Farm is concerned.
On the Seaside Farm,
however, there is a category of Item known as Collectibles. These
Items produce their products every few hours. Again, the time for
harvest can vary but the essential difference between Trees and
Collectibles is that you cannot speed the process.
The
reason I mention this is because there are two types of Trees on the
Island and one resembles the Collectibles on Seaside in terms of
harvests. The Fruit Trees on the Island are like Trees on the Seaside
Farm. Each has a different harvest time, but this can be accelerated
through the use of Watering Cans. The first such Tree on the Island is
the Chestnut Tree. The next is the Tea Tree.
The
category that resembles the Collectibles in terms of harvests is the
Wood Tree. These include the Oak Tree and the Cedar Tree. Each Wood
Tree has a different harvest time but you CANNOT speed the process
through use of Farm Aids. The most you can do is to double the harvest
by purchasing an Electric Saw for 1 RC instead of using the basic Saw
that you can craft in your Hardware Building. The Electric Saw when
purchased can be used three times. Each time it is used, you will
obtain two pieces of Wood instead of one. This can be very useful when
you are waiting for Wood of a specific type to complete a Quest or
Mission.
There is another difference between Fruit
Trees and Wood Trees. Fruit Trees, once purchased, are like the Seaside
Trees. You can continue to harvest them forever. Wood Trees, on the
other hand, can be harvested only a limited number of times. Once you
make the last harvest, the Tree will disappear and you will be forced to
buy another if you wish to continue to harvest Wood. When you purchase
any Wood Tree, you will see the number of Harvests it will yield if you
tap on the 'i' as well as frequency of harvest.
With
respect to Island Items, another difference is that every Item is
limited with respect to the total number you can have on your Farm. You
will see that total written beneath the portrait of the Itemm in the
Market.
Cutring Wood Trees
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There
are two different tools that can be used to harvest a Wood Tree. One
is the Crosscut Saw, costing 25 Coins to produce in your Hardware
Store. If you use the Crosscut Saw, you will harvest a single piece
from any Wood Tree. If, however, you choose to purchase the Electric
Saw for 1 RC, you will have three uses before it vanishes giving you two
pieces of Wood for any harvest.
Sometimes it makes
sense actually to purchase the Electric Saw if you can afford to do so
as the harvest of any Wood Tree cannot be speeded by use of Watering
Cans or anything else. If you need the Wood quickly, use the Electric
Saw to double your harvest.
You cannot speed the harvest of any Wood Tree. In this sense, it resembles the Collectables in the game.
Choose Your Machine!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
in
the course of unlocking new options and new Machines by earning Dev
Points, you will find that you need a tremendous number of Nuts, Lag
Bolts and Nails. I made the error of trying to complete a third
Zeppelin, when in fact I should have saved my production for the
upcoming Pie Machine. I unlocked the Essential Oil Machine when I
expanded my Farm, and then switched from attempting to complete the 3rd
Zeppelin to the project of the Essential Oil Machine. That was another
waste of valuable materials, although one day I will complete that
machine. The problem with the Essential Oil Machine at the time was that one has to
have unlocked the Wrench, a required Material and I then did not have enough
Dev Point yet for that. My advice, therefore, is to make and SAVE your
Materials for the Pie Machine. Completing of the Pie Machine is one of
the Father's fairly early Quests and no materials require Dev Points.
Many
Machines operate in tandem in the sense that you need a Product from
one in order to make any Product in the other one. For example, the
Flavoured Bread Machine requires Chestnut Flour made in your Watermill
and the Pie Machine requires Cassava Flour, made in the Watermill as
well. This is one reason why you should operate your Machines as often
as possible.
The one Machine I do not feel is necessary
at all at this point is the Hot Dog Machine. The only ingredient made
on the Island is the Barley Flour. Other than that, the Machine
requires Ketchup produced on the Seaside Farm as well as one of four
types of Sausage produced on the Seaside Farm. It is an expensive
Machine and, like all Machines on the Island, unfinished when you
purchase it. I would suggest that you wait until you have completed all
other Machines before you buy the Hot Dog Machine. It is a luxury
item, at least at this stage.
When Not to use RC to Skip Tasks
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
RC
always can be used to skip tasks in Family Farm Seaside but on the
Island, it can be an expensive waste of resources, especially when the
task in question requires that you make a specific number of an Item
using a Machine. The Missions/Quests have been devised carefully to
work with Mastery Levels I have found. If a Mission or Quest requires
that you make 20 of a specific Product in a Machine, doing so will take
you closer to the Mastery Level for that Machine that is needed in the
next Quest or Mission. If you use RC to skip the Task, you will earn
Dev Points by completing the Quest but you will not be any closer to
achieving the Mastery Level needed in the next Quest!
Making Money on the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You
cannot sell Items directly from your Barn on the Island. You will make
money in the form of Coins by completing Quests and each Helicopter
Order that you fill will have a specific coin value, but in general, you
have to transport Island Items to the Seaside Farm if you wish to sell
them. Remember that growing Crops will earn XP for you but not Dev
Points. The main reason for growing Crops on the Island is for use
either to feed Animals or to use in Machines.
Tip:
Your Machines should run constantly if at all possible. If you need a
specific number of Products for a Quest and you run out of the necessary
Ingredient/s, simply switch to a different Product for that Machine
until you can obtain the necessary Ingredient/s to complete the Quest.
That way, you will continue to earn Mastery points while you wait.
Mastery Points
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
All
Machines on the Island operate according to Mastery. There are three
levels of Mastery for any Machine. When you have produced a total of 80
Items in any Machine, you will receive 1 Star Mastery, unlocking at
least one new Item. When you have made a total of 600 Items in any
Machine, you will earn 2 Star Mastery, unlocking at least one more new
Item. When you have made a total of 1800 Items in any Machine, you will
earn 3 Star Mastery for that Machine, unlocking at least one more
Item. 3 Star Mastery is the final level of Mastery. Tap on the icon
that represents that type of Product currently being made in any Machine
to open a screen that will display the three Mastery Stars at the top.
You will see how close they are to being filled as well as the precise
number of Points earned.

Reward: 1750 Coins, 265 XP, 15 Dev Points
For
these tasks, you can choose any items you wish but depending on how
many expansions you have completed, you may find it useful to transport
items needed for expansions.
Seaside Items always
needed on Island include Honey and Goat Milk, two required ingredients
in Island Machines. Grapes, Blueberries, Daisies, Red Roses, Blue
Roses. Wool, Alpaca Hair, Angora Hair, Cotton Bolls Pineapple, Apricot,
Peach, Banana, Plum and Chocolate are ingredients used to make specific
items in Island Machines.
Island Items needed on
Seaside Farm: Wooden Aroma Bottles are used in the Beauty Shop on
Seaside. There really are not that many Island Items that are required
for use or even that are possible to use on Seaside at this point, but
if you need Coins and you have valuable Island Items that you wish to
sell, the only way to do that is by shipping them to the Seaside Farm.
Generally speaking, Machine Products are worth far more than the raw
ingredients used to make them.
If you are beginning to
feel the pinch financially where your Coin total is concerned, transport
the more valuable Items, such as the various Pies from the Island to
the Seaside Farm. Note, however, that any Machine Product takes far
longer to transport than simple Crops. If, therefore you simply wish to
complete this Mission as quickly as possible, transport Crops in both
directions.

Island
Expansions are required tasks in specific Quests and often unlock a new
Machine or other Item. Note that, whenever there is a specific total
for an Item requirement for an expansion, you will be unable to count a
partial completion. In other words, if the expansion requires 50 Linen,
45 Linen will NOT decrease the RC price to skip completion of the Item
production.

Congratulations! Now you have your own personal heliport! Let's see what we can do with it!
Complete Heliport Orders to gain Dev Points
Another feature of the Helicopter Orders is that one only can fill a certain number per day with a 10 Dev Point reward. After completing 2 Orders in any given day (from midnight to midnight), the Reward decreases to 5 Dev Points per Order. You then can complete a total of 5 Orders at 5 Dev Points each. After that, the Reward is reduced to 3 Dev Points for 5 more Orders then 2 Dev Points for 5 Orders and finally to 1 Dev Point for another 5 Orders.
Note that the same Orders that carried a lower Dev Point Reward BEFORE Midnight will remain on the Board after midnight with the full 10 Dev Point Reward. Judge for yourself whether or not it is worthwhile to continue or better to wait until the next day. In other words, the most you can earn from completing ALL Helicopter Orders in a single day that runs from midnight to midnight is 78 Dev Points.
Dev Points are earned by completing Quests/Missions as well. As you progress through the Missions, you will find the the Dev Point Rewards will increase gradually.

Have 500 Violet Essential Oil to buy expansion
Skip for 50 RC
This
expansion has a smouldering Volcano on the land that produces Power
every three hours! Received 6 Power in my first harvest.
Note
that Zucchini as a Crop is unlocked when you have earned a total of
1440 Dev Points. Although the Flavoured Bread Machine in which it is
made is unlocked at 2160 Dev Points, you will have your first Flavoured
Bread Machine from the previous expansion. Violets as a Crop are
unlocked only when you reach 2960 Dev Points and Violet Essential Oil
cannot be made until you have 3 Star Mastery of the Essential Oil
Machine.
What this means in essence is that you should
not be in any hurry to purchase the 7th Island Expansion if you have not
earned the requisite number of Dev Points to unlock Zucchini and
Violets. 100 RC is a hefty price to pay to skip the two Machine Product
tasks.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Island Market
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
On
the original Seaside Farm, it is simply a Player's General Experience
Level that will unlock new Items in the Market. Whether it is a Crop,
Tree, Animal, Machine or Decoration, there is no limit to the number you
can purchase or place on your Farm. The only Limits that exist are
with respect to certain Crafting Buildings such as the Beauty Shop,
Kitchen and Cooking Stand as well as your Warehouse where Items can be
stored.
The Market on the Island is very different.
For a start, it is not Experience per se but Dev. Points that unlock new
Crops, Trees, Animals, Machines and even Decorations. Dev Points,
unlike XP, can be earned only by performing specific actions. One of
these is to fill Helicopter Orders. The other is to perform specific
Quests that carry a Dev Point Reward.
Another
difference is the Limit in the number of any Tree, Animal or Machine
that one can own at any given point in time. When you go to the Market,
you will see the total number of any given Item that you can own. This
includes Trees as well as Animals and Machines. There is no limit to
the number of any Decoration you can purchase, however.
The
Limit to the number of any type of Tree you can own has another aspect
to it in that Trees that yield Wood have a limited number of Harvests,
rather logically. When you have completed the last harvest, the Tree
will vanish and you will be able to buy another in the Market.
Prices
for any Animal, Tree or Machine tend to depend upon the number you have
purchased. In many cases, the first will have a Coin price, but if you
purchase any more, you will be forced to pay RC.
For
example, the first Camel costs 50,000 Coins. You will need a total of
350 Dev Points before you can purchase your first Camel. One you have
done this, you can buy three more, but each of these will cost you 6 RC.
It
is interesting to note here that sometimes you will find that an
Expansion will give you a new Item that you have not unlocked yet. An
example of this is the Essential Oil Machine. Although you need to have
720 Dev Points to unlock the Essential Oil Machine in the Market,
simply completing the farm Expansion where the first Essential Oil
Machine is located will give you THAT Machine. You will not be able to
buy any more, however, until you have reached 720 Dev Points.
900 Dev Points
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
At
900 Dev Points, you will be able to buy your first Bamboo Tree as well
as a Yogurt Machine for 100000 Coins. The Yoghurt Machine will be
incomplete and you will need the following to complete it:
Tap x 10 (Request from Neighbour or pay 1 RC for each)
Nail x 10 (Craft or buy for 1 RC each)
Lag Bolt x 20 (Craft or buy for 1 RC each)
Wrench x 4 (Craft or buy for 1 RC each)
Or complete instantly for 43 RC
The Yogurt Machine is a three ingredient Machine. The two ingredients
that never change are Honey and Goat Milk. It is the third ingredient
that determines the type of Yogurt produced.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Island Market
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The
Island Market operates differently from the original Seaside Farm
Market. Although Crops will have a specific cost that never changes,
most of the Island Items in the Market have a price that will change
depending upon the number you have purchased. Generally speaking,
additional purchases of any item will be more expensive than the first
and ultimately you may be forced to pay RC to increase your total.
Furthermore, there is a limit to the number of any specific Animal, Tree
or Machine that you can own.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
New Island Trees:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There
are both Fruit Trees and Wood Trees in the Market. Fruit Trees once
purchased and placed will remain on your Farm forever. Wood Trees, on
the other hand, each have a specific number of possible Harvests. Once
these are made, the Tree will vanish from the land and you will have to
purchase another if you wish to be able to continue to harvest that type
of Wood. Tools are needed for the harvest of any Wood Tree as well.

Buildings
xxxxxxxx
Workshop
xxxxxxxxx
The
Workshop is a fully finished Building that will be unlocked when you
complete the 3rd Expansion on the Island. It requires Power to use,
however.
The default Item that you can make without any
Mastery is a Wooden Chair. To make it, you need 4 Wooden Cylinders and
1 Wooden Plank.
Here are the items you can make with their requirements and ingredients:
Wooden Chair: 1745 Coins
Ingredients: Wood Cylinder x 4, Cedar Wood
Scarecrow Toy: 779 Coins
Ingredients: Mohair Yarn x 2, Cedar Wood
Oil Painting Frame: 676 Coins
Requires 150 Dev. Points
Ingredients:
Wood Aroma Bottle: 819 Coins
Requires150 Dev Points
Make-Up Box: 1090 Coins
Requires 600 Dev Points
Coral Dressing Table: 4248 Coins
Requires 1100 Dev Points
Flower Table: 5602 Coins
Requires 1500 /Dev Points
Dev Points
xxxxxxxxxx
You
will see that many of the Items only become available when the Farmer
has amassed a specific quantity of 'Dev' points. Dev Points are gained
via the Heliport, which requires the 2nd farm expansion.
The Heliport has Orders that are similar somewhat to the Daily Order Board on the original Seaside Farm.
For example, on my Island, I see the following today:
Mohair x 2, Oak Wood x 2: 654 Coins, 10 Dev Points
Flax x 3, Cassava Flour x 2: 645 Coins, 10 Dev Points
Nut x 2, Egg x 2: 476 Coins, 10 Dev Points
Sugar Cube, Chestnut: 391 Coins, 10 Dev Points
Note
that the Orders include two Items that must be transported FROM the
Seaside Farm in the form of the Eggs and the Sugar Cube.
Each
Order must be transported by helicopter which means that it takes time
before another Order can be filled, unlike the Daily Order Board. If
you do not like an Order or feel you cannot complete it, you can delete
it to load a different Order in its place. Whenever an Order is filled,
moreover, a new one will load in its place.
Another
feature of the Helicopter Orders is that one only can fill a
certain number per day with a 10 Dev Point reward. After completing 2
Orders in any given day (from midnight to midnight), the
Reward decreases to 5 Dev Points per Order. You then can complete a
total of 5 Orders at 5 Dev Points each. After that, the Reward is
reduced to 3 Dev Points for 5 more Orders then 2 Dev Points for 5 Orders
and finally to 1 Dev Point for another 5 Orders.
Note that the
same Orders that carried a lower Dev Point Reward BEFORE Midnight will
remain on the Board after midnight with the full 10 Dev Point Reward.
Judge for yourself whether
or not it is worthwhile to continue or better to wait until the next
day. In other words, the most you can earn from completing ALL
Helicopter Orders in a single day that runs from midnight to midnight is
78 Dev Points.
Dev Points are earned by completing
Quests/Missions as well. As you progress through the Missions, you will
find the the Dev Point Rewards will increase gradually.
You will see in the photographs how later Orders carried Rewards of only 5 Dev Points as compared to the original 10.
Finally,
it appears that the Orders each take 20 Minutes to complete.
Zeppelin Transport
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You
will begin with two Zeppelins. To add a third, you must build it or
pay a total of 99 RC to skip the requirements for materials. Materials
are:
20 Rope (Request from Neighbours as Free Gift or pay 1 RC each)
25 Nuts ( Craft or pay 1 RC each)
25 Lag Bolts (Craft or pay 1 RC each)
25 Nails (Craft or pay 1 RC each)
The
Zeppelins are very important in Seaside as transporting Items from one
Farm to the other is the only way to complete many of the Helicopter
Orders as well as some of the Quests.
Rope x 50 (Request from Neighbours or pay 1 RC for each)
Wrench x 40 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Nail x 50 (Craft or pay 1 RC for each)
Zeppelin Shell Cloth x 2 (6 RC each)
Unlocking New Options in Machines
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
New
Machines are unlocked by obtaining specific totals in terms of Dev
Points by filling Helicopter Orders but within any Machine, there
usually is more than one possible product to be made. When you first
acquire a new Machine, however, you will be able to make only one
product. For example, with respect to the Spinning Machine, you can
make only Mohair Yarn. To unlock new products, you must make
sufficient Mohair Yarn to earn a Star. One Star will unlock Angora Hair
Yarn and Wool Yarn. Two Stars will unlock Camel Hair Yarn and Alpaca
Hair Yarn. Three stars will unlock Horse Hair Yarn.
Remember
that you cannot place original Seaside Items on the Island. You
therefore must TRANSPORT any Animal Products that you wish to use in the
Spinning Machine if you wish to make them into Yarn.
Unlocking New Options Early
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Even
though progress for the most part on the Island is based upon Mastery
and Dev. Points, there are tasks that can be completed by using RC
instead of fulfilling the actual requirement. Among these are some of
the Island Expansions. If you do not mind spending RC like water, you
can skip tasks that you are unable to complete and go ahead with an
Expansion but really, this can be counterproductive as all things tend
to work together and there is no point in unlocking a new Machine that
is placed on Expansion land if you cannot make the items required to use
it. There is plenty of land in the early stages for Crops, Machines,
Trees and the only Animal that does not require Dev. Points. The
Expansions usually do unlock new Options and it is a good idea to unlock
the Helicopter Pad on the 2nd Expansion as early as possible, but
beyond that, the Expansions can wait.
For example, to
purchase the 4th Expansion, you need to produce 75 Wool Cloth and 20
Wooden Planks. Wool Cloth requires 2nd Star Mastery of the Loom to
produce. The Wooden Planks are made in the Sawmill from Cedar Wood.
The Cedar Tree requires Dev. Points to unlock. Why skip those two tasks
for a total of 35 RC? Best to move forward naturally until you have
been able to unlock the required Items.
Another example
of the reason why one should exercise patience is the Essential Oil
Machine. An expansion when unlocked will give the Player his/her first
Essential Oil Machine but one of the Materials required to complete it
will remain locked if the Player makes the expansion too early in the
game. The Wrench requires a total of 500 Dev Points to unlock in the
Hardware Store. You can opt to use RC to purchase the 5 Wrenches
required but there is another consideration here. Two of the Materials
required to complete the Essential Oil Machine are needed for almost
EVERY Machine. These are the Nails and the Lag Bolts.
In
my opinion, it is more important to complete the Pie Machine. The Pie
Machine requires a total of 5 Nails and 8 Lag Bolts as well as 25 Nuts
and 5 Feed Trays. The Feed Trays can be requested from Neighbours but
the other Materials must be crafted in the Hardware Store. One can use
RC to purchase them instead but that is a waste of RC really. As the
purchase and completion of a Pie Machine constitutes one of the Father's
Quests and his Quests carry Dev Points Rewards, it is far more
important to complete the Pie Machine than the Essential Oil Machine at a
point in the game where one has not earned a total of 500 Dev Points.
Spending RC on the Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The
Island is different from the original Seaside Farm in many ways, not
the least of which is the price of Items that have been unlocked.
First, there is a limit to the number of each Item that can be purchased
and the price changes according to the number purchased. In many
cases, the first Item of any type either carries a Coin price or is
located on an Expansion. In the latter case, one obtains the Item
automatically when the Expansion is purchased.
It is
the second Item of any type that usually carries an RC price. You need
to ask yourself if you really need a second Machine or Animal or
Building when it carries a premium cash price. Obviously, you can
produce twice as fast with a second Machine or Animal but is that really
necessary? Every player is different and some can afford to purchase
more premium cash than others. In my own experience, however, I
realised after purchasing a second Machine or Building on the Island
that I did not really need it and it could not even be used to advantage
unless I actually spent ALL MY TIME on the Island instead of in the
real world! For you see, at this point in time, there is no Batch
Production on the Island. OP is very expensive as well and one earns a
limitied amount by obtaining Gift Boxes. I find that it is best to
conserve the OP and Power in my Gift Box for the time-restricted Quests
and Missions.

pertains only to the Island Warehouse as any attempt to Register the

All Island Machine Ingredients
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If
you are wondering where to find the Items used in any of the Island
Machines, this section should be extremely useful. Some of the
information is repeated in other sections of the guide, but it is here
that you will discover whether an Item is made on the Seaside Farm and
therefore must be transported by zeppelin before it can be used in the
Machine or whather it is a 'native' Island Item.

The Mining Option
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If you have unlocked the Island, you now have a mining option. In
order to do any mining, you mst have equipment. There is a wide variety
of equipment, all of which must be crafted. The Items you receive
whenever you set off an explosion depend upon the equipment used.
Mining is a timed Event similar to Fishing. Once you set off an
Explosive at 100%, your percentage will decrease and it is only over the
course of time that you will regain the percentages lost. You still
can set off more Explosions, however.
The most inexpensive and
easiest equipment to use is a Pickaxe. The following Items can be obtained with pickaxe mining: Nitre
(High Chance), Claystone (High Chance), Iron Ore (Rare Chance)
With Dynamite, you can obtain the following:
Nitre (High Chance), Quartz (High Chance), Silver Ore (Rare Chance)
Bomb: Nitre (High Chance), Copper Ore (High Chance), Gold Ore (Rare Chance)
Barrel Bomb: Iron Ore (High Chance), Nitre (High Chance), Silver Ore (Low Chance), Gold Ore (Rare Chance)
You
can set off up to three different explosives at a time. One is by
choosing a Neighbour with access to the Island. Drag your chosen
Explosive or Pickaxe into each of the other two Bomb-shaped Icons, then tap
'Boom'.
Do always choose a Neighbour. It appears that the Neighbour will use a random explosive. In one case, my Neighbour used a stick of Dynamite and in another, a Bomb.
If
you have played CastleVille Legends, you will see that Mining is
similar to the various expeditions you can take in that game where your
choice of characters determines the chance of obtaining specific Items.
Begin with a Pickaxe, then craft Gunpowder or Dynamite from the Nitre you obtain and escalate from there.
What
will occur after the explosion is that a number of items will fly out
of the Mine's opening. Tap on each one until the screen is cleared of
them and you then will see your actual Explosion Reward which will
consist of a number of different items, depending on the explosives
used.

Botanic Garden
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Botanic Garden is situated on the Island. It is directly to the right of the Helicopter Port and unlccked automatically when you unlock the expansion that is next to it. I believe that would be the 5th Expansion. There is a total of 12 places for flowerpots in the garden and four places for Neighbour flowerpots. Only two of your own places will be unlocked at the start. Tools that can be used on flowerpots include trowels called 'spades' and trimmers. These can be used at specific intervals only. One cannot purchase any of the possible upgrades for the Garden, whether in the form of more places for flowerpots or to unlock the 'Glasshouse'. You only can unlock new options by growing flowers and engaging in other Garden actions.
Other tools apart from the Spade and Trimmer that will be unlocked at higher levels include Insecticide, a UV Light and Music.
You only can use Music on a Level 3 Flower.
Your Garden Level is displayed on a pillar with a five-petal flower or five-point star on top of it. After planting a second flower and using 1 Trowel/Spade on each of the flowers, my Level remained Level 1 but I had earned 3 out of the 8 points needed to ascend to Level 2. Each Level upgrade requires more points.
Your Botanic Garden Level has nothing whatsoever to do with your general Experience Level. You raise it only by tending your Garden. Initially the Greenhouse when unlocked had a limited number fo plots for your own Friendship Flowers and you had to unlock the remainder by increasing your Level. When the developers began to issue special sale Friendship Flowers, however, I do believe all farmers were given the total of 5 Greenhouse slots.
There are three little stalls to the right of the Pillar. The first is the Mystery Shop. The second is a Flower Book akin to your Fish Book, listing all possible Flowers and your own mastery of them. The third is a help stall, indicated by a question mark.
Once a flowerpot is placed, tending the flower is time-based. The icon of the Tool that is needed to tend the Flower will appear above the flowerpot and, provided you have the Tool ins question, all that is needed is a tap of a finger. It appears that the actual Tool that is needed is random, although certain tools such as the UV Light and Insecticide require a specific level of Garden experience and a specific Flower Level. As previously indicated, Music is reserved for the level 3 Flowers.
The Flower Book contains the following:
Ordinary Flower Chapter:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Venus Flytrap
Viola Tricolour
Chrysanthemum
Epiphyllum
All ordinary Flowers can be purchased from the Shop. You need to access the Shop regularly to see what is available on any given day at any given time. Remember that you can refresh the list of Items offered for Coin purchase.
Each Flower has a different growing time and the time that must elapse before another Tool can be used is different in each case. The Chrysanthemum is one of the slowest-growing flowrs. The Viola Tricolour appears to be one of the fastest. You need not grow two of the same type of Flower in order to complete the requirement to grow 2 Level 2 Flowers for the Mission. Obviously you do not need two of the same type to create a hybrid. As the Mystery Shop Coin Menu will change each time you refresh, you can choose to wait until the flower you want appears, even when you have an empty space in your garden.

Mystery Shop
xxxxxxxxxxxx
The new Mystery Shop offers the opportunity to buy new Flowers for the Garden, more implements for the Garden, as well as items from both the original Seaside Farm and the Island Farm, provided always that you have unlocked the Island and the Garden. If not, you will not see the Items from the Garden or the Island Items. On my second farm initially, I had unlocked the Island but not made the expansion that allowed the Garden to appear. I therefore saw only regular Island Items and Seaside Items in the Mystery Shop. Note, however, that Crops and products you may not have unlocked yet WILL appear in the Mystery Shop from time to time, as well as a multitude of Sea creatures. For players like me who dislike the fishing option, it is great to be able to buy seafood supplies in the shop now.
The Mystery Shop moreover, in terms of the new Coin option is on a timer that allows the player to refresh up to four times, depending on the amount of time that has passed.
Be advised that you can have only a limit of 99 tools of any kind for the Garden. When you have 99 Spades, you cannot purchase more until you have used some of them.
Seeds for flowers cannot be stored. If you do not have a spot to plant the seed, you cannot purchase it.
Greeenhouse
xxxxxxxxx
The Greenhouse is where your own Friendship Flowers are located, both the real Friendship Flowers and those that you have purchased in a special sale. You can keep purchased Friendship Flowers in your Gift Box, however, if you wish to keep a slot or two open for a real Freindship Flower.
When a Friendship Flower has been created in your garden, it immediately will go into the Greenhouse. You then need to open the Greenhouse to tap on the flower in order to find a Neighbour to tend it. When you have chosen the Neighbour, you then need to visit his/her Island farm to place your flower on an empty Neighbour Plot by tapping on the plot.
There is a new option in Seaside that allows you to place a special welcome pink or red ribbon round your Neighbour plots to let your Neighbours know that you would welcome Friendship Flowers. Although most farmers do welcome the chance to tend them, there are farmers who would rather not have the burden of what can be considerable labour, especially if the flower is Level 2. Thus the new option.
If you find that your Neighbour is not tending your Flower, you should be able to take it back and place it on another farm. If you do this, however, all growth progress will be lost to the flower. It is not a step to be taken hastily. Some farmers have more access to the internet and the game than others. It may not be neglect but lack of access that makes one farmer slower to grow your Flowers than another.
More about Friendship Flowers
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
As discussed previously, the Botanic Garden is on the Island and is tied to one of the Island expansions. It has begun to feature in the time-restricted Missions so if you have access to the Island but have not made that particular expansion, you may wish to do so.
There are three different types of flowers basically. There are the ordinary Flowers that you buy in the Mystery Shop, grow on your side of the Botanic Garden and then crossbreed with another mature Flower os the same Level after it has grown to maturity itself. These flowers all can be found in your Flower Book in the first three categories or chapters.
The second type of Flower is what call the real Friendship Flower. All types appear in your Book in the final chapter for Friendship Flowers. They can be produced only through crossbreeding and are a random result. Usually, you will find that a Level 3 Flower crossbred with another Level 3 Flower is the one most likely to produce a Friendship Flower although it can occur with two Level 2 Flowers as well. The Friendship Flower you obtain in this situation would be a level 1 Flower.
It is when a real Friendship Flower is sent to a Neighbour, brought to maturity and crossbred that you may receive a level 2 Friendship Flower. Again, this is a random result. Too many times, you will tend to the Friendship Flower a neighbour has entrusted to you only to obtain an ordinary Flower when you finally are able to crossbreed it.
Finally, there is the type of Friendship Flower that you obtain through purchase in a sale. These so far have been of two varieties: the Ice Cream Flower and the Macaron Flower. The Ice Cream Flower gives higher RC when crossbred than the Macaron but the Macaron has two separate Decorations associated with it. When you have opened your 8th Gift Bag from a Macaron Flower, you receive the Spoon Shovel Decoration. When you open the 10th, you receive the Macaron Flower Decoration. Both can be registered in the Gallery.
The Friendship Flowers that appear in sales are not included in your Flower Book and no one I know ever received a Friendship Flower or even rare Flower from crossbreeding one. The real purpose of these is to share RC with a friend and to earn XP towards the upgrade of your Botanic Garden.
Note that the Colourful Plumeria is tied to this type of Friendship Flower. It only appears in the Mystery Shop when the sales are running and no one I know ever received a rare flower from crossbreeding the Colourful Plumeria with another flower. The purpose of this type is speed... it matures faster even than the Epiphyllum or Tricolour Violet. It appears to be related to both of these actually as the flowers you receive when you crossbreed the Plumeria tend to be one or the other of these.
I remember when the fishing option first was released in Seaside. We logged all the results of the position in which the bait was cast to try to discern the nature of the catch. Utterly useless: results are random. I firmly believe it is the same for the Botanic Garden. We could log our results until the proverbial cows come home and still not have any way to make certain that we obtain specific flowers in crossbreeding. I do hope that the developers will modify the incidence of obtaining the Level 2 Friendship Flowers when Level 1 Friendship Flowers such as the Cupcake Flower, Doughnut Flower and Lollipop Flowers are crossbred. Even more time and energy goes into the tending of the level 2 Friendship Flowers and when one ultimately obtains only a common Flower after crossbreeding one, it is too depressing for words. Not to mention how upset I am not to be able to send a rare Friendship Flower back to its owner after crossbreeding finally occurs. I really think that this aspect of the game needs to be changed in our favour.
There are different probabilities, however. Apart from the possible result of a Friendship Flwoer when two ordinary Flowers are crossbred, there is a possibility of obtaining a flower tyat is rare. The rare types are the Jagger Lips, the Lily, the Rafflesia and the Rose.
In my own experience, the Lily appears to be associated with the Epiphyllum and Viola Tricolour while the Jagger Lips appears to be associated with the Venus Flytrip and possibly the Chrysanthemum. I personally believe that although all the rare types are described as having a 'rare chance' of appearing in the Flower Book, it is the Rafflesia and the Rose that are the rarest of all. No one I know ever has obtained one so far...
Here I am descending to the realm of pure speculation. Is it possible that one only can obtain the Rafflesia or the Rose by crossbreeding two OTHER rare flowers such as the Jagger Lips and the Lily? Time will tell...
It is possible that the appearance of the Rafflesia and Rose, although random, may be more likely if you are at the highest level of Experience in the Botanic Garden. On the other hand, the Jagger Lips was a result on my lower level Rosewood Farm long before Freyashawk obtained it on the higher level Harvest Moon Farm. The Botanical Garden is at a higher level there, in other words, than Rosewood's Botanical Garden. So perhaps it is entirely random after all. It does seem odd though that none of the farmers to whom I have spoken have had either Rafflesia or Rose.
A little note here about the nature of the Rafflesia. It is famous in the Animal Crossing series of games as a terrible weed that occurs if you neglect your village shamelessly and fail to pull your regular weeds... In the Rune Factory series, it is a 'boss' monster you must defeat. In Seaside, it is a rare flower.
I have used the basic designation for the rare flowers rather than using the Level names. In other words, there are Super Lilies and Mega Lilies, Super Jagger Lips and Mega Jagger Lips...
Finally, your ability to send Friendship Flowers out to Foster Care depends partly on your experience Level in the Botanic Garden. Initially it began with two slots but when they released the sales with the Macaron Friendship Flower, they expanded the number of slots even for low level Botanic Farmers to four. When you purchase a Sale flower, you can keep it in your Gift Box until needed. I recommend this actually as I had a situation where a real Friendship Flower from a neighbour matured but I did not have any free slots in my Glasshouse. I was uncertain if this would affect my chances to produce a Level 2 Friendship Flower as it would have nowhere to go. I therefore had to wait until one of my existing Friendship Flowers on Neighbours' Garden plots matured in order to clear a space in the Greenhouse for the hypothetical Friendship Flower.
There is a question here as well. Where should you send your Friendship flowers for foster care? Well, there is a little reciprocal rule that is unofficial. Where sale flowers are concerned, when some one sends one to you, it is good manners to send one to that farmer if you have any. Where real Friendship Flowers are concerned, should you be fortunate enough to breed a Level 2 type, you really ought to send it back to the farmer who sent it to you for fostering in the first place.
Although there are many farmers who request Friendship Flowers, there are others who do not bother much with the garden. The speed with which a flower matures depends partly upon the frequency with which you tend it. I have a post in my Family Farm Seaside Freyashawk Group where farmers can post their Friendship flower requests and status. Remember that any Friendship Flower has to be crossbred with a normal Flower when it matures, so keeping Level 1 mature flowers in the Garden is one factor that makes some farmers more desirable 'foster parents' than others.
Note that, if you feel that a farmer is not tending the Friendship Flower you placed in his/her garden, there is an option to take it back and re-foster it somewhere else. Any progress made in its growth will be lost of course if you do so but if you see that the farmer truly is inactive, it is good to know that you can rescue your flower from oblivion.
Garden Strategies
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It is your Farm, your Island and your Botanic Garden. How you choose to allocate your resources there is your business, but there are a couple of consideration that may or may not make a difference. First of all, there is a Quest sequence that is associated with the Botanic Garden. Quest sequences on the Island give Dev Points and these are critical if you wish to have access to all options, including the Pizza Machine.
You do have a limited number of plots in your Garden and a limited number of slots in your Glasshouse. You will reach a point ultimately where you may be forced to make some difficult choices. Do you opt for the Friendship Flower strategy by keeping as many mature Level 1 Flowers in your Garden as possible or do you concentrate on your own Flower Book and the business of raising Level 2 and then Level 3 Flowers. With the sales, I found that I was selling every Level 2 Flower that was obtained through crossbreeding instantly without tending it at all, thereby losing potential income and the ability to add another result to my book in the interest of replacing it with another Level 1 Flower for potential crossbreeding with a Macaron Flower from a Neighbour. That was the choice I made but other players may make a very different decision.
Level 1 Flowers ar ethe quickest to mature and each type has a different growth rate. Level 2 Flowers take longer but the slowest are the Level 3 Flowers. As you increase your Garden experience level, you will unlock new plots but it takes time. The Botanic Garden really is a cosmic lesson in patience.
Landmark Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Landmark Decorations were introduced in the Decorations section of the Island Market at the same time that the Pizza Machine was released and the Island Dev Point total was increased to 6500. At the start, one was able to earn Dev Point by completing one of each type of Landmark Decoration. Later, however, all that creating the first of any type did was to increase your ABILITY to earn more Dev Points through Helicopter Orders. Very absurdly complex. Be that as it may, you MUST make one of each type of Landmark Decoration if you wish to be able to achieve the total of 6500 Dev Points on the Island.
Note that, once placed, these can be sold instantly by choosing the Sell option in the Menu. You will be asked to confirm the sale but you will not need to transport the item to the Seaside Farm.

New Items as of October 2017
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Below you will find all new Island Items with information about Dev Point requirements, materials needed to build the new Machines and Landmark Decorations as well as any current uses for the new Products. The Activity Stage Mission has its own post. Other Facebook Groups are welcome to post a link to this in their groups, but please give Freyashawk credit for any information you use from my site. Thank you!
There are new untimed Misisons linked to the latest update to the game as well as new Island Animals, Machines and a new Island Tree in the form of the Rubber Tree. There are new Eagle Landmark Decorations as well that increase your Dev Point total. I originally listed the Missions first but now am giving Update information first here. There is a new building in the form of the Activity Stage as well that offers time-restricted Missions. You must distinguish between the new Missions like 'Farm Foresight' and the Activity Stage 'Sweet or Salty?' Big Dipper Mission.
Please be aware that there is NO urgency to the new Missions that automatically appear on the left side of your screen. 'Farm Foresight' is the first of these. You may see them only if you completed all the other untimed ordinary Missions. You do not receive special Rewards. You receive only Coins and XP. They will not appear in the Lighthouse because they never expire.
One aspect of the new untimed Missions is different from most others: you need a completed Salad Machine for some of the tasks. If you do not have one, you may wish to buy and complete one. You can find the materials in the Purple Mystron Shop.
The Activity Stage Missions on the other hand will expire after 8 days from the date of their release. You have only two hours to complete any part of the Mission once you use your Wand to activate it. You receive only one Wand activation per day, but if you wish to complete the Quest faster, you can buy a new activation for 2 RC. Activity Stage Missions do carry special rewards beyond the usual Coins and XP. The Big Dipper 'Sweet or Salty?' Mid-Autumn Festival Mission gives a cute little Moon Bunny Decoration. Please see my specific post about the Activity Stage Mission for photographs and all other details.
As far as the new Island items are concerned, you obviously need access to the Island to be able to explore them. Moreover, you will need a fairly high Dev Point total for most of them.
Note that the total maximum number of Dev Points has increased, although so far there is no reason to obtain the new maximum. The three Eagle Landmark Decorations have been added to the game to allow you to increase your Dev Point totals by performing more Helicopter Orders.
Note from Freyashawk: Ultimately I will move the untimed Quests to a page that will give all the new untimed Quests now and in future, and I will incorporate the new Island items into my Island Page. Until then, however, this will be the comprehensive guide for the latest update, apart from the Starry Sky Activity Stage Quest which you will find in a separate post.
New Update
xxxxxxxxxx
Changes include the following:
Free Rainbow Rain
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Each time you increase your Farm's level, you should receive 1 Rainbow Rain. Note, however, that if you do not use the Rainbow Rain in the centre top of the screen BEFORE your level increase, you lose that one! So keep an eye on your XP total when you are close to reaching the next level.
Tree Nursery
xxxxxxxxxxx
Tree Nursery no longer requires individual farm aids. It actually WORKS now. You can harvest Trees that are in the Nursery when the harvest time activates... no need to spend extra farm aids like Watering Cans or Super Watering Cans to get anything from this building apart from storage... you can place your Trees in the Tree Nursery and harvest as often as you would if they were on your Farm without any other action. A little basket will appear above the Tree Nursery now when any Trees are ready for harvest. Simply tap on it to harvest automatically.
Clean Tickets/Green Tickets
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You only can have 300 'active' Green Tickets on any given day. Extras you amassed before the update will be found in your Gift Box now. Unfortunately, any NEW Green Tickets you receive from Log in Rewards or open Pet Chests will be lost if they would increase your total beyond 300... so use the Green Tickets if you can BEFORE claiming rewards. I find this change annoying personally... it is small-minded.
Buddy Point Changes
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Buddy Points for each Level upgrade have changed as follows:
To reach Level 2: 450 Points
To reach Level 3: 1500 Points
To reach Level 4: 4000 Points
To reach Level 5: 8000 Points
To reach Level 6: 10000 Points
To reach Level 7: 12000 Points
To reach Level 8: 15000 Points
You now receive Buddy Gift Bags from visits that are linked to your Buddy Levels instead of simply receiving the ordinary reward you would receive from any Neighbour visit.
For example, a Level 5 bag contained: 750 Coins, 12 OP, 1 Power, 2 Super Watering Cans, 5 Watering Cans
Level 1 Bag contained: 400 Coins, 8 OP and 1 Red Mystron
NOTE: You can visit Buddies using Batch visits but you will NOT receive the little Buddy Gift Bags when you do... you only receive the usual Gift Boxes, XP and so on.
Activity Stage
xxxxxxxxxxxx
There is a new Activity Stage on the left side of your screen near the Gallery. It will be devoted to new timed Missions. The first is the Big Dipper 'Sweet or Salty' Mission. A Wand that you need to activate is used to tap on a step in an outline to allow you to begin. Three tasks to each part of any Mission and you have only 2 hours to complete any part. Only one Wand is given each day at reset but if you wish to move faster through any Quest, you can purchase a new activation of the Wand for 2 RC. Please see my Big Dipper Activity Stage post for all tasks and Rewards.
New Items for Island
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There are Dev Point requirements for all of these but as Harvest Moon FDC has full Dev Points, they did not show up for me. The following includes all materials needed to build the machines as well as prices, and all products, including all ingredients needed to make them. It includes Dev Point requirements for ALL the new Island items, including the Rubber Tree.
Many thanks to Aloysius of Dolceacqua Farm for sharing Dev Point requirements for unlocking all new items.
The good news for players is that there finally is a USE for the beautiful Daffodils we have been growing and harvesting for years. You can use them, once you have sufficient mastery, to make Daffodil Flip Flops.
New Dev Point Total
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The original maximum number of Dev Points that could be achieved was 6500 Dev Points. Now, that has been increased to 7250. To reach the 6500 total, you have to build the available Landmark Decorations and then complete sufficient Helicopter Orders. To reach the new 7250 Dev Point total, the same holds true. Build the three new Eagle Landmark Decorations and then complete Helicopter Orders until you reach the maximum. At this point in time, there is no new option that requires 7250 Dev Points but many players like to reach the maximum, irrespective of any practical benefit.
New Island Tree
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There is a new Tree in the form of the Rubber Tree. This is NOT a Wood Tree, so you do not cut it. Use the Farm Aids to speed production if you wish.
