New Oil Press Machine and Oil Press Trip Mission

A new Machine in the form of an Oil Press has been released.  It has to be purchased through a special sale at present.  The pirce is equivalent to that of purchasing a stack of RC.  You will receive 6 RC when you complete the special Mission.  Once purchased, you must close your game and reopen it to have access to the special Mission asscoiated with it.  The Oil Press is complete when purchased, by the way.

There is a time limit on the sale offer, but I saw no time limit on the actual Mission/Quest sequence.  I do not know if the Machine ultimately will be offered in the Green Mystron Mystery Shop or as an incomplete Machine in the Market or if this is the only way to obtain it, but it may very well be featured in the upcoming time-restricted Mission released on Friday.  The fact that some of the tasks are labour-intensive may be a reason to buy and complete the Mission BEFORE Friday if you can afford to do so.  I do hope that Fun Plus will not be throwing so many RC items at us next month though.  The game is becoming more and more expensive to play.

Being a Good Neighbour
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I do not wish to devote an entire post to this as I have done so previously, but thought I would add a little note here.

There are many reasons to visit your Neighbours' farms on a daily basis and the game now offers additional rewards for doing so, including the points given in the Daily Quest trail.  You receive Coins and XP when you perform actions on Crops and/or Trees as well as a Cleaning Gift Box for most Cleanable Decorations.  A few only offer Coins but for the most part, you receive a Gift Box.   Here is where a new consideration in terms of your Neighbours may come into play.

Lately, there have been an increasing number of special sales with Cleanable Decorations that give out Yellow Mystrons for a specified number of days before they simply give out the usual coloured Gift Boxes.  If you buy and place these Decorations on your Farm, you will not receive the Yellow Mystrons UNLESS A NEIGHBOUR CLEANS THE DECORATION!  The Decoration may not be one that yields the coveted Blue or Gold Gift Box but it is very important to your Neighbour that you help him or her during that initial period when Yellow Mystrons are the Reward.  Please do look for those special Decorations and help your Neighbours.  I have some on my Farm and yet, day after day, my Neighbours choose different Decorations to clean.  I know that the crowded nature of my Farm may be partly to blame.  Sadly, this new Beauty Contest has forced me to place Decorations and items I had stored previously.  On the other hand, I have tried to place these special Decorations on the outer borders of my farm so that they can be seen easily.  When the Yellow Mystrons no longer are given, I will move them and put Decorations that give Blue Boxes in their place.

I am not speaking only for myself here, of course, but simply giving my farm as an example.  I have been trtying to clean the special Decorations that give Yellow Mystrons, in particular, the Boy Grass Hair Deer and the Bobo Bear's Fish BBQ, whenever i see them on a Neighbour's farm.

Obtaining Farm Aids in Family Farm Seaside

Once upon a time, in the early days of Seaside, it was difficult to obtain Farm Aids such as Fertiliser, Watering Cans and OP.  Later, with the advent of Cooking and Crafting and all sorts of other options, including the Mystery Shop, one needed far more, including Yellow Mystrons, Green Mystrons, Power, as well as Island items including Electric Saws.  One can purchase everything but Mystrons in the Market but there are other ways to obtain these valuable items.

First, there is the Dedicated Farm Bonus, accessed through a small treasure chest at the top of your screen.  Tap on this whenever it is full to obtain Coins and a Gift Bag.

There are the Daily Quests as well, with three different treasure Chests.  Each contains Farm Aids but the third, Gold Treasure Chest, obtained only when you complete every task but one, contains a Yellow Mystron.  A single Yellow Mystron may not have much purchasing power, but they do add up through time.

Visiting Neighbours is a very good way to earn Farm Aids.  Whenever you clean a Decoration, you will earn a Gift Box.    The Blue and Gold Gift Boxes usually contain the best items, but they all are worth the effort.  By visiting your Neighbours, you earn Coins and XP as well and the task of visiting 12 Neighbours in any given day is one of your Daily Tasks.

Keeping Cleanable Decorations on your own Farm is another way to earn Items.  Again, the Decorations that give the Blue and Gold Gift Boxes tend to be the most valuable, but any Gift Box will contain some Rewards.  Note that the actual contents of any of these Boxes or Bags is random, apart from the Special Mission Gift Box that always contains a set group of items.

One more way to earn Farm Aids is through the Cooking Stand Contest.  This is not always current, as there is a little hiatus between the end of one Contest and the beginning of the next, but you usually find a Contest in progress.  Whenever you visit a Neighbour, look for his/her Cooking Stand.  If there is the icon of a Roast Turkey above it, tap on it to obtain a special Gift Bag that will contain a random assortment of Farm Aids.  This benefits your Neighbour as well, as completion of any Contest depends on your Neighbours' participation in 'eating' at your Stand.  The final Reward of any Cooking Stand Contest is a Cleanable Decoration that yields the coveted Blue Gift Box.

Sometimes you can obtain a special item when you fish.  These are associated with specific catches.  They are not terribly significant but should be mentioned.

Farm Aids can be earned by completing Achievements.   Final Achievements give 1 or 2 RC even.

If you have access to the Island and have unlocked the Mine, you can obtain Farm Aids randomly when you ask a Neighbour to help with an explosion.  There is a special pink bomb that appears randomly and gives Farm Aids instead of the usual Ores and other Mine items when the Explosion occurs.

In this context, one should mention the Mystery Shop or Store.  You will find an icon on the top left when you access the Market that will take you to the Mystery Shop.  It now has been expanded to include four different screens.  They are: Coins, Green Mystrons, Blue Mystrons and Yellow Mystrons.

The Coin Shop can be refreshed to allow you to purchase more items once you have purchased as many as you want from the current screen.  Note that the items that appear will be different depending on the Farm you currently are visiting.  It is only when you are on your Island Farm that you will see any of the Flowers for the Flower Garden, for example,   i find it helpful to access the Coin Shop only when I am on the Island because Seaside items and Island Items then will appear in the Coin Shop.

The actual Items that appear in the Green, Blue and Yellow Mystrons screens change on a daily basis.  New players may find it most helpful to purchase Cleanable Decorations when they appear in the Yellow Mystrons Shop, although I like some of the non-cleanable Decorations so much that I purchase them instead.  Earning 100 Yellow Mystrons, the price for any item, can be a slow process.  From time to time, special Sales are offered that include a Decoration that will yield Yellow Mystrons when cleaned for a scecific number of days, after which it will yield an ordinary Cleaning Gift Box.

Completing the Weekly Activity, accessed through the Magic Bunny, will give you 10 Yellow Mystrons.  Yellow Mystrons allow you to obtain Decorations that were given as Rewards for time-restricted Quests, although Final Rewards are not included.

Another method by which to obtain Yellow Mystrons, albeit slowly, is to complete ALL of your Daily Quests but one.  There are three different treasure chests, all containing Farm Aids that can be opened when you obtain specific point totals by completing specific tasks, such as using your Machines, Fishing, completing Helicopter Orders and so on.  When you have obtained a total of 300 Points in any given day, you will be able to open the final Gold Treasure Chest.  I have noticed that it always appears to contain 1 Yellow Mystron.  As I wrote previously, it is a SLOW way to earn these, but one still does increase the total as well as obtaining other valuable aids.

It is the Blue Mystron Shop that allows one to purchase Final Reward Decorations that you missed, but you will not be able to earn these until you have obtained ALL the Rewards from your Daily Order Board.  There is a specific chain of Rewards that includes all the special Sheep... once you have completed all of these, you will begin to earn Blue Mystrons.

Green Mystrons often are the Rewards for registering a specific item in your Gallery.  Gallery Registration gives other Farm Aids, including Organic Fertiliser, Super Fertiliser, Watering Cans, Super Watering Cans, Power and OP.

Finally, if you play on certain systems, there is a floating Balloon that travels across your screen, inciting you to watch an advertisement.  if you do so, you will receive 15 Green Mystrons.

I have written other posts on being a good Neighbour.  Here, however, I will mention the value of having Neighbours visit your farm to clean your Decorations.  Three factors are important here:  you really need to visit your own farm as soon as possible after the daily Rewards from Neighbours' cleaning activities appear.  That may be a different time for every time zone.  On the East Coast of the States, for example, it occurs near 8.00 p.m. I believe.  Another factor is that you really should take advantage of the fertilising activities of your Neighbours by harvesting all ripe Crops and Trees as often as possible.  It is discouraging for a Neighbour to visit a Farm where there is NOTHING to do!    I fear that there are Irises on my own farm that I never harvest, because they were a temporary Crop that I cannot replant and they are my favourite of all the Crops, but I do try to harvest everything else as often as possible.  I also keep a number of Decorations that yield the Blue Gift Boxes always on my farm even though it reduces planting space.

As discussed in another post, there are different ways to access your Neighbour List.  One is by Recent Helpers, which probably is the most fair of all.  Another, however, is by 'Fertilisable' which shows Farms that have plots and trees that still can be fertilised.  Another one, for those who want Island Gift Boxes, is to visit only the Island on every Neighbour's Farm.  You can change the option whenever you like to reflect your current mood or needs.  Timing can be important here as well.  If you visit your Neighbours who live in the same time zone too soon after the daily cut off point, you may find that there are icons of megaphones instead of cleaning brushes on top of all their Cleanable Decorations because they have not had time to collect any of them yet!  If you visit popular Neighbours too late in the current day, you may find that there are no good Cleanable Decorations left to clean.  In any event, Neighbour Visits, whether they are yours or your Neighbours', offer a multitude of Rewards, as well as allowing armchair travel to see how other people organise their farms.  There are some gorgeous farms out there!

Island Hopping
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Recently, I became aware of a problem with the game in terms of the Cooking Stand Contests and Island visits.  It is unfortunate that, whenever you choose 'Island First' when visiting Neighbours, you will not have access to the Cooking Stand, as this is located either on the main farm or the Building Plots outside the main farm.

There are advantages to choosing 'Island First' because the Purple Island Gift Boxes appear to contain the most Farm Aids, including Fertilisers, Super Fertilisers, Watering Cans, Super Watering Cans and the tools used to cut trees on the Island.  In their own fashion, they are equal therefore to the Blue Gift Boxes on the main Farm.  They do appear to grant a fair amount of OP as well randomly.

Cooking Gift Bags, however, are very useful and your Neighbours need visits to the Cooking Stand during a Contest in order to fill their quotas.  What this means, therefore is that a Neighbour who wants both an Island Gift Box and a Cooking Gift Bag essentially has to make TWO visits to the Neighbour's land... one being to the Island Farm and the other being to the Seaside Farm.  Perhaps this will be remedied by the developers soon and they will allow a link to the Building Plots area at least from the Island.

Note that there is a limit to the number of Cleanings of Decorations as well as the number of Cooking Gift Bags that any Farmer can collect in a day.  The limit to the Gift Boxes is very high at 300 and I do not think this varies at all.  Originally, I thought that the number of Cooking Gift Bags depended on the Farmer's Experience Level but I discovered this was not the case at all.  It is your Club Membership that determines many options now in the game.  I discovered this when I purchased a sale item for my second farm and my Club Membership Level increased to Level 9.  An announcement appeared to the effect that I now would have +9 more Power, 10 additional Cooking Bags from Neighbour Visits, 14 more opportunities to use OP instantly to complete Zeppelin Transport (something I have not used much at all), 800 additional Bait and the ability to refresh Daily Orders 6 times if I wished.  Note here that you are not GIVEN 800 Bait, but simply can HAVE 800 more than previously.  This allows easier use of the Boost with the more expensive Fishing Hooks.

A final note:  The Purple Island Gift Boxes tend to be obtained from time-limited Quest Rewards.  Cleanable Island Decorations purchased in the Market or constructed do not give these valuable Gift Boxes.

New Gallery and Registrations

Last updated on 8 April 2015 but please note that ALL items can be found on my Gallery Registration Page and that this post is not complete any longer.

On 18 December, a new Farm was released in Seaside in the form of an Island that must be unlocked by completing six separate Quests, each of which constitutes a sixth part of a Puzzle.  When completed, the Island is available.  With the Island comes a veritable host of new Items to register in the form of Animals, Trees, Machines, Decorations and even Buildings.   These items have been included now in the Gallery List.

If you wish to register an Island Item, YOU MUST BE ON THE ISLAND AND ACCESS THE GALLERY FROM THERE.  You cannot register Island Items from the original Seaside Farm.

The Gallery building is located in the Northwest Corner of the Farm and items are divided into six different categories:

As of the middle of January,  this List is up to date, but note that new Items constantly will be added as they are released.  Decorations and Collections Sets probably will show the greatest number of additions as any new time-restricted Quest usually has Decorations as Rewards.

Note that the Cetegory that will display time-restricted Registration items is the Collections Category.  These are items that include Rewards for time-restricted Quests or Missions.  The Items themselves can be registered individually at any point in time, but some Collections that include these items must be completed within a specific number of days.

Now, there is another matter that is worth mentioning here.  Many players who missed Missions would like to have the final Reward or Collections Reward from those past missions.  They now may appear randomly for 23 hours in the Mystery Shop with a purchase price of 100 Yellow Mystrons.  The Yellow Mystrons can be earned in a variety of ways, but primarily through Circus Contests, aka Activities.  If you complete any activity, you should earn 10 Yellow Mystrons.

If you access your Gallery, you should see descriptions of every Decoration when you tap on any Decoration.  Many now state:  'can be bought in Mystery Shop with Yellow Mystrons' but others will state that they were the 'final Reward' for a specific Quest or Collections Mission.  Do note, however, that the latter CAN show up in the Mystery Shop randomly.  I have seen the Scout Sun for sale and that was a final Reward.  This means that you should not despair if you do not see the item you need immediately... save your Yellow Mystrons and access the Mystery Shop daily!

So far, I have seen the following items in the Mystry Shop, some repeatedly:  Matrioshka, Scout Sun, Yacht, Garden Lantern, Grandma's Bike.  I will keep a record from this point onward and try to post the Items I see.

Note that the Collection Sets differ from other categories in the sense that some are time-restricted.  You need to look at the Gallery to see which Collection Sets must be registered immediately.  For example, Picnic Time, Summer Holiday Forest Mystery, Teahouse and Animal Trio all have time limits.   Some of these are Items that had to be obtained as Rewards for completing time-restricted Quests.  I do believe that the time for registration of Forest Mystery has passed.  I registered it immediately so cannot confirm that it has expired but I do know that Teahouse will expire in 12 days, two days after the expiration of the Quest itself.

Registration of any Item takes time.  A different amount of time is needed for each Item.  The Rewards for registration are linked to the Item type, although different amounts can be given for each.  For example, if you register any Tree, you will obtain Watering Cans, but depending on the actual Tree registered, you may gain either 2 Watering Cans or 5 Watering Cans.   In some cases, Super Watering Cans take the place of the ordinary Watering Cans.  Medals are given as well and, in the case of Tree Registration, can vary from 1 Medal to 15 Medals.

Only one Item can be registered at a time.  In order to register any Item, it must be placed on your Farm.  You go to the Gallery to find the Item you wish to register, then tap on 'Register'.  You will be taken to the Item and you then must tap on the actual Item itself to begin the registration process.  It can take a few minutes or it can take longer.  Every item has its own registration time.

Once registered, you will see 'Completed' with the actual date of registration beneath the icon of the Item.  Items can appear in more than one category if they are part of a 'Collection'.  For example, the Forest Mystery Collection includes the Quince Tree, the Haystack and the Shelter.  The Rewards for completing a Collection are the greatest.  For the Forest Mystery Collection, you will receive 5 Medals, 88 Green Mystron and 1 RC.  Some Collections, particularly those related to time-restricted Missions, must be completed within a specific number of days.

Felicia's Cooking Stand, Letter Decorations and Loyal Player Rewards

There are a couple of new options in Family Farm Seaside.  Personally,, I am not certain that they are positive.  Among them are new 'Letters' of different colours, new Loyal Player Gift Bags and finally, Felicia's Cooking Stand.  The Cooking Stand is connected with a new single Quest that appears to have no time limit.

The Cooking Stand is found in the Buildings section of the Market for 500 Coins.  There are two problems with it:  it, like the other Craft Buildings, such as the Kitchen, is absolutely ENORMOUS.  it takes up a lot of space and furthermore, cannot be sold or stored.  Very vexing to be certain.  I daresay that one will need it, however, and so I purchased it and placed it, making it virtually impossible now for me to have any Machines or Animals on my Farm...  If the developers EVER read this post, I beg them to offer us another farm expansion.  This is becoming ridiculous.  I have all the expansions and my Warehouse is upgraded to the point where a new upgrade would cost a veritable fortune.  I need an expansion and I daresay I am not the only farmer who feels this way.

The Cooking Stand Mission is a single one and is as follows:

Felicia's Cooking Stand I

Place a Cooking Stand on your Farm

Prepare 5 Honey Syrup

Reward: 100 Coins, 10 XP

Once you have placed the Cooking Stand, you need to fill it with cooked dishes that Neighbours are supposed to buy from you.  The business of purchasing Dishes from the Cooking Stand is very similar to that of cleaning Decorations.  If there are any Dishes to be purchased, you will see the icon of a Roast Turkey floating over the Cooking Stand on your Neighbour's Farm.  Now there will be an icon at the top of your screen as well that shows how many Dishes you have purchased.  You are allowed a total of 10 on any given day I believe in the same way that you can clean a total of 300 Decorations on any given day (chance should be so lucky!)

So far on this, the first day of the Cooking Stand option, I have found only three Neighbours with Dishes available for me to collect.  I have visited at least 40 of my Neighbours.  Sadly, I have found only 2 Decorations to clean as well.  Again, if the developers were to offer another Expansion for our Farms, it would allow more Decorations to be placed!

If any Neighbours visit my Farm, they should find plenty of Cleanable Decorations as well as Cooked Dishes!  I do place as many cleanable Decorations on my Farm as possible although I do not have the space to include all of them.

As each Dish displayed in your Cooking Stand is sold, you will be able to replace it with another.   The Cooked Dish Gift Bags appear to include the same sort of items that the Cleaning Gift Bags have: sometimes you will receive OP or Power, but mainly you will receive Coins.   Recently, however, the developers have made it possible for these Gift Bags to contain multiple Rewards.

If no Neighbours purchase your Dishes, you can purchase them yourself for 1 RC each.  The game operates in 'Rounds'.  Round 1 features four different Dishes.  The Dishes that you can set out for sale in Round 1 are Cheese Salad., Light Muffin, Spicy Fish and Chocolate Pave.   You can set out a total of six of each of these.   If you have these Dishes in your Barn, you can place them immediately.  If not, you need to make them before you can place them.   Each one when sold will give you 1 Red Mystron.   These are added to make the Player eligible for Rewards in the Bingo game evidently.

Meanwhile, Yellow Mystrons are used to purchase the green hedge Letters that are decorations to be placed on your farm.  I do not see any option to purchase Yellow Mystron and am not certain how to obtain more than the initial 15 I had.   I have no idea where the Letters will go on MY Farm!  I am not quite certain what effect, if any, the Letters have.  I do know that they are connected somehow to the Japanese Tanabata Festival as you can write Messages to the Cowherd of the Weaver Girl if you wish or to any of your Neighbours.

Meanwhile, the entire Cooking Stand business appears to be a Bingo Game of sorts.  As you sell Dishes, you will unlock new Dishes and there is a graph that is like a Bingo Card where you need a full row filled in order to earn a Reward or Prize.  More about this as I investigate further.  The actual 'card' has the following Rewards:

Vertical Rewards:  100 Green Mystron, 50 Fertiliser, 6 Power, 1 RC
Horizontal Rewards: 25 Super Fertiliser, 25 Watering Cans, 150 OP, Thunderstorn
in the corner, where Horizontal and Vertical intersect, there is a Mini-Beach Decoration.

There is a countdown for this which is a total of 7 Weeks.  I am not certain what will happen to the Cooking Stand after that period expires.  Perhaps a new Card will be issued... who knows?
