Note on 14 November: Felicia sent a message in game to the effect that the requirements for unlocking 2 Star and 3 Star Savannah were not correct and she returned up to 6 Bedding Rolls to players who had unlocked the areas using the original requirements.
The third area of the Wilderness Map now is available in the form of the Savannah. Guests give Kangaroo Pet Cards.
The Kangaroo requires 300 Kangaroo Cards and begins with 700 Stamina but only 80 Bargaining/Sales. It has four Skill Slots with a Chance for Motivation (Reduce Stamina by 2%), Advanced (Improve Selling ability by 8%), Friendliness (Increase Buyer Happiness by 1%) or Perseverance (Improve Selling ability by 3%). If you compare this with the Hippo, you will see that both Stamina and Sales begin at a slightly higher level (as the Hippo starts with 600 Stamina and 75 Sales) but the advantage to the Hippo is the fact that he/she can go into the Water to take the orders of the Water Guests. The Hippo has another advantage in his/her Advanced Skill which decreases bargaining cost by 50% but with decreased Happiness (if you actually care about the joy of these greedy guests.)
SAVANNAH GUEST GROUPS: If you want a Kangaroo, your only option is to invite the Savannah Guest Groups. Note, however, that neither 1 Star nor 2 Star Savannah Guest Groups give ANY Pink Paint. If you simply are trying to unlock new Pet Slots, you are better served by inviting 2 Star Mootopia Guests than any other Group. The 3 Star Savannah Group, as shown below in the Order Lists I logged, have rather brutal orders but is the best option really to obtain the Kangaroo Cards as well as Pink Paint.

Although I have included this information in the original post, perhaps it will be useful to include some brief strategy considerations here.
Strategy in Inviting Guest Groups

I did not think about this initially. I simply tried to unlock new areas and obtain new Pets. Now, however, I see that there are some considerations that can be important at EVERY stage.
First, be clear as to why you are inviting any specific group of Guests to your Farm. Initially, you may be forced to invite specific Guest groups in order to unlock a new Star Level or a new area of the Map. Once this is accomplished, however, you will have more choices.
The first question to ask is: Do I want Pet Cards or Pink Paint?
Pet Cards allow you to obtain new Pets but ONLY IF you have sufficient space in your Pet House for another Pet. In most cases, you will need Pink Paint to unlock a new Slot for a Pet. Initially, the game progresses rather naturally to some extent. The Guests you need to invite to unlock new areas will give Pink Paint as one of their Rewards. Telescopes, however, are a different matter. You need to send your Pets to open Chests on your Farm in order to collect the Telescopes needed to unlock new areas and new Star Levels on your Maps.
Thus, the items your Pets can obtain for you to unlock new Guest Groups, new areas of both Maps and new Pet Slots basically consist of Pink Paint and Telescopes. The contents of Pet Chests always are random to some extent, so try to set your Pets to open some on a daily basis if you have ambitions to unlock both Maps.
The second question to ask is: What Pets are best suited to the Guest Group I wish to invite?
The answer will depend on the actual Guests in the Group and may depend on the Level of your Active Pets as well. First, look at the Guest invitation requirement to see if the Guests require Water Paths. Look at the Guest Group to see HOW MANY of the Guests stay in the Water. For Guests that refuse to deal with Pets on land, you will need Turtles or Hippos. If you do not own sufficient Water Pets, you can borrow a Turtle or Hippo from a Buddy usually.
There is a third rather advanced consideration, however, in organising an Active Pet Group. If you have a new Pet who needs to advance in his/her Level, you may wish to include that Pet in your Active Pet Group but remember always the Stamina cost of the Guests you intend to invite. If they are 'Hard' Guests, your little inexperienced low level Pet may not be able to interact with the Guests at all! Some players choose instead to level up a new Pet simply by setting him or her to open Chests. I actually always try to include the new Pet in my Active Pet group for Guests whenever possible.
The other way to increase a Pet's Level is by completing Coffee House Orders for the little Pet Biscuits/Cookies. Each one will give 30 XP to a Pet who is not at maximum Level.
Guest Orders: Every Guest Group will give its own set of Orders but very often you will see the same items again and again from a specific Guest or Guest Group. I always include a few lists of actual Orders from every Guest Group. This post gives actual Orders for all three Star Levels of Savannah. My original post (link given above) is quite extensive in listing many different actual Orders from every other area and star level on both the Mootopia and Wilderness Maps.
Stamina Cost: If your Active Pet Group has less Stamina than the game feels is wise for a particular Guest Group, the game will declare this fact but do not despair. As long as your Pets have sufficient maximum Stamina to interact with the Guests you intend to invite, you can be successful if you are willing to monitor your Pets and feed them repeatedly to keep their Stamina high enough to bargain with the Guests you invite. Adding a Buddy Pet always helps as well in these situations but you cannot feed a Buddy Pet when his/her Stamina dwindles. When it is insufficient to take any Orders, set the Buddy Pet instead to open Chests or simply send him/her home!
