70s Boogie Night Time-Restricted Quest and Disco Ball Collections Mission

A new time-restricted Quest has been released in Family Farm Seaside.  It is a double-pronged Quest, as usual, with a Collections Mission and a traditional Quest sequence.  The theme, as Felicia herself will announce at the outset, is a 'disco-themed party'.  Thus, the Collections consist of four different colours of Disco Balls and the traditional Quest sequence is entitled:  70s Boogie Night.

The Collections Mission is as follows:

Collect Colourful Disco Balls when making farm products:

70 Green Disco Balls from Spinach
50 Yellow Disco Balls from Rye Flour
30 Blue Disco Balls from Blueberry Jam
10 Pink Disco Balls from Sakura Tree

Rewards:  Jukebox Decoration and Nutmeg Tree

N.B.  The Nutmeg Tree can be purchased in the Market for 8 RC.

Strategies for Mission
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As always, the way to stay 'ahead of the game' is to make all possible items that you will need in advance if possible.  One item is Cheese Salad.  If you have been participating in the Cooking Stand events, you should have plenty of Cheese Salad on hand in your Barn unless you sold it.  I think it never is a good idea to sell ANYTHING unless you are strapped for cash.  Another item that you will need in some quantity is the Blueberry which can be requested as a Free Gift from Neighbours as well as grown in your field.  If you study the quest tasks, you will see that you will need a total of 40 items from Neighbour requests.  If you have 300 or more Neighbours, this should not be a problem, but if you have substantially less, it might be best to grow the Blueberries yourself and save your Requests for the Items needed for the Quest.

Another item that you will need is the Pearl that is a random result from processing a Scallop in the Seafood House.  If you have not obtained at least 10, go fishing for Scallops as early as possible.

Note of caution:  I have the old Brick Mill and I wasted over 150 Rye in Batch Production, receiving not a single Disco Ball for my pains.  It was only when I switched to the other Mill that I began to receive Disco Balls from Rye Flour.

As always, the farmer who has all the 'staple' ingredients in his/her Barn will find completion of the tasks easier than the farmer who has little or nothing stored. Eggs in particular are needed in quantity for this Quest sequence.  Make Wheat Bread in advance for the Cheese Burgers and make certain that you have at least 120 Grapes stored for use in the Grape Juice and the Wine.  Wheat Flour can be requested as a Free Gift.  I usually try to request Wheat Flour, Cheddar Cheese and Milk whenever possible.  In this case, however, one of the tasks require that you produce the Cheddar Cheese yourself.

40 Buffalo Milk and 40 Butter will be required to make 20 Sour Cream  You will need Buffalo Milk Cheese for the Herb Cream Cheese that is an Ingredient in Cream Corn if you do not have 20 Cream Corn stored in your Barn to sell for another task.  Power always is in short supply where these timed quests are concerned.  The more cooked Ingredients that can be made in advance, the better.  Unfortunately, the Cooking Stand tasks are 'live' at the moment and the Daily Orders usually required a Cooked Dish as well, so you may have to prioritise.  Take a deep breath: you do have plenty of time to complete these timed Quests as well as the Cooking Stand tasks.  As far as the Daily Orders are concerned, I would suggest skipping the Cooked Dish tasks if you do not have the items in your Barn.

30 Black Bread will be required to make the Kvass for one of the tasks.  Make this in advance if you can.  Machines and Animals can be set to batch production but this requires OP.  Fortunately, OP is not as difficult to obtain in quantity as Power.  Now, with the addition of the Registration option, you can earn both Power and OP as well as Super Watering Cans, Super Fertiliser and even RC.    As always, the cleaning Gift Boxes that can be obtained by cleaning Decorations on Neighbours' Farms or by having Neighbours clean your Decorations are a source of these farm aids as well.

Don't forget to register the Quest items.  There is a new Collection as well as individual registration.

Family Dinner Time-Restricted Quest and Wine Glasses Collections Mission

(Screenshot shows my farm with the three Rewards from this Mission:  The Vanilla Garden and Cornucopia Decoration from the Wine Glass Collections Mission and the Autumn Arch Decoration from the traditional Family Dinner Quest sequence)

A new time-restricted Quest has been released in Seaside in the form of a dual Mission consisting of a Collections Mission for Wine Glasses of four different colours and a traditional Quest sequence entitled 'Family Dinner'.

Collections Mission:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Collect Wine Glasses

70 Green Wine Glasses from Chardonnay
50 Blue Wine Glasses from Peacock Feathers
30 Red Wine Glasses from Orange Jam
10 Brown Wine Glasses from Walnut

Rewards: Cornucopia Decoration and Vanilla Garden (produces Vanilla every four hours)

Note that you cannot purchase the Vanilla Garden in the Market at this point in time.  Like other 'Collectables', however, it no doubt will become available for players after the expiration of this Quest so that the farmers that did not participate in the Mission can make the items that require Vanilla as an Ingredient.

Please note as well that the traditional Quest has been created to dovetail with the Collections Mission in terms of some of the tasks, unlike some of the previous time-restricted Quests.  In the very first task group, you need to harvest 40 Peacock Feathers, one of the Items that produces Wine Glasses.  You will need to harvest 40 Chardonnay for Family Dinner II.  You need to harvest Walnuts in Family Dinner IV.  Walnuts randomly produce the Brown Wine Glasses needed to complete the Collections Mission.  Cleverly done, these tasks make timing important in terms of completion of the Collections Mission.  Complete it too quickly and you will have to harvest more of one of the required Items.  Complete it too slowly and you will not have the Vanilla Garden required in Family Dinner VI.  It really is admirable how the developers planned this one.  In the past, so many tasks had nothing whatsoever to do with the Collections Mission or anything else.  Here you will find that many of the Items produced to satisfy task requirements are used in Cooked Dishes that are needed to complete other tasks.  In short, DO NOT SELL ANYTHING!  You probably will need it later...

The traditional Quest sequence is as follows:

Prepare 30 bowls of Bean Stew with Crumbly
  Skip for 30 RC

Produce 10 Cherry Chocolates
  Skip for 10 RC

Felicia:  Grandma said the dinner was delicious and she loved the chocolates!  It was really nice to spend some time with the whole family!

Reward: 120 Coins, 16 XP

N.B.  This last group of tasks is perhaps the most arduous in a way as it requires a great deal of Power to complete.  Cream Casserole is the third and final Recipe in the new group of Recipes and the Ingredients are two Recipe Dishes: Candied Sweet Potatoes and Creamed Corn.  Although you should have 20 bowls of Creamed Corn and 10 plates of Candied Sweet Potatoes in your Barn from previous Tasks in this Quest Sequence, you will need a total of 20 Cream Casserole.  That means you need to make 10 more plates of Candied Sweet Potatoes.  That will require 10 Power, but more than that, 10 more Vanilla.  Your new Vanilla Garden produces a single Vanilla every four hours, provided you collect instantly...  the time of production obviously runs from the time of collection!

Although the total amount of Power needed for the 20 bowls of Cream Casserole should be 30 Power (10 Power + 20 Power), provided you did not sell the Ingredients, there is another Dish requirement in this last step in the form of the Bean Stew with Crumbly.  Here the Power requirements are far greater.  Making Crumbly only requires Ingredients that are produced on your farm in the form of Oat Flour (x 2) and Eggs (x2) but you need 30 Crumbly here as well as 30 Bean Stew.  Bean Stew requires only Items made on youf farm in the form of Beef Salami and Green Bean, but again you will need a total of 30 Power to make the Bean Stew.  Finally, you will need another 30 Power to combine these two Recipe Dishes to make the Bean Stew with Crumbly.

What this means is that you will need a minimum of 120 Power to complete the final task group in this Quest sequence!  Make as much of the Crumbly and Bean Stew in advance as you can.

Finally, although I usually advise players against the use of RC to skip steps or tasks in any Quest, in this case, given the slow delivery of Vanilla and the fact that each Venilla will cost 1 RC if you choose to purchase it, you may find it more useful to 'skip' some of the Corn Casserole rather than purchasing the amount of Vanilla you still lack in view of the Power cost of each Corn Casserole.

For example, if you have no Vanilla remaining in your Barn but still need to make 8 more Corn Casserole to complete the Quest, you have a choice either to spend 8 RC on Vanilla or to spend 8 RC to 'skip' the task.  Given the Power requirement and the need to spend 90 Power on the Bean Stew with Crumbly, perhaps it would be more useful to use the RC to skip the remainder of this step.  Do bear in mind the fact that this advice pertains only to impatient farmers who wish to put the Mission behind them as quickly as possible in order to focus on other projects.  You do have plenty of time to complete the Family Dinner Quest!
Remember as well that Power always can be obtained randomly from cleaning and cooking Gift Bags.  Visit your neighbours, clean their decorations and click on the Cooking Stand to help both yourself and your Neighbours!

Another source of extra Power is the Gallery where specific Items when registered give Power as a Reward.  When you go to your Gallery, take a look at all the Rewards you have not earned yet and choose to Register an Item that will give you a Power Reward, if you need extra Power ror any timed Mission.

FINAL REWARD:  Autumn Arch Decoration  (This one can be cleaned.)

New Kitchen Recipes
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As is usually the case in these situations, new Recipes that are needed for the traditional Quest sequence have been released:

Candied Sweet Potatoes: 334 Coins, 1 XP
Ingredients:  Sweet Potato x 2, Vanilla

Cream Corn: 356 Coins, 1 XP
  Ingredients:  Cornmeal, Herb Cream Cheese

Cream Casserole: 730 Coins, 1 XP
Ingredients:  Candied Sweet Potatoes, Cream Corn

Strategies for Mission
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You will need to place the two Rewards from the Collections Mission in the course of the traditional Quest sequence.  One of these, the Vanilla Garden, produces Vanilla every four hours that is needed in one of the new Recipes that is a Quest requirement.  You therefore should try to complete the Collections Mission before you reach Family Dinner VI.

This traditional Quest sequence, however, has been organised far better than many others in the past, as some of the tasks in the Quest sequence are to harvest or produce Items that yield the Wine Glasses in the Collections Mission.  In Family Farm II, for example, you need to harvest 40 Chardonnay.  Chardonnay produces Green Wine Glasses.  If you collect the 70 Green Wine Glasses needed for the Collections Mission before you reach Family Farm II, you will have wasted an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone as it were.

Power always is limited in Seaside.  My advice is to make all possible ingredients needed for Recipes in advance or you will find yourself in a position where you either have to wait for your Power to be replenished or purchase some.  For example, Bean Stew with Crumbly is a Recipe required for a task.  This is the third Recipe in a Kitchen sequence, which means that the ingredients both are Recipe Dishes themselves.  You therefore can make the Crumbly and the Bean Stew needed for the Bean Stew with Crumbly in advance.    One of the new Kitchen Recipes requires another Kitchen Dish in the form of Herb Cream Cheese.  Make this in advance as well.

Betutu Chicken is a required task Recipe.  For this, you will need Spice from the Spice Rack and Turkey.  Produce the Turkey in advance.  Betutu Chicken Rice is another required task, and the ingredients for this are the Betutu Chicken and another Recipe Dish in the form of Coconut Rice.  This one is a bit tricky as Coconut Rice itself requires a Cooked Dish in the form of Sticky Rice.  Unfortunately, it is here that the system breaks down a little for players who do not have large quantities of Rice in the Barn as the Peacock that produces the Peacock Feathers needed for the Collections Mission as well as the Turkey that provides the Turkey needed to make the Betutu Chicken eat Rice as well!  Make certain that you plant Rice in large quantities for use later in the traditional Quest sequence.

New Gallery Rewards
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

With the release of the Gallery, almost every Item that you receive as a Reward in a Mission or Quest can be registered and Registration has Rewards in the form of OP, Power, Coins and or RC.  With respect to the time-restricted Quests or Missions, there usually is a Collection that can be registered as well.  In this case, it is the Family Dinner Collection.  To claim this Reward, you must register the Vanilla Garden, the Cornucopia and the Autumn Arch.
