Thursday night, 26 January:  I never expected that the Quest would be released this early.  I am going through it and logging it as quickly as I can.

The reward for the Collections Mission is a Collectable in the form of a Cured Beef Rack.  As with any new Collectable that is linked to a Mission, you will not find it in the Market until the Mission has expired.  You therefore must complete the Collections Mission in order to obtain the Cured Beef Rack to use during the traditional Quest sequence.  Note however that, as always, you can skip the task of placing the Rack for 10 RC.  The Recipe that requires Cured Beef allows the farmer to buy the Cured Beef if necessary for 39 TC.  You will need a total of 6 to complete the Task.  It is better to pay for the Cured Beef than to use 6 RC to skip the Task completely as the Dish that is made is an ingredient for another Dish required in one of the later Tasks.

Chinese New Year Guests and Pets

Note:  The Journey to Anatolia is still live at the time of posting this.  You will find all details in the post below this one.

A new update to the game makes the game an even larger app on your device, but includes many new options, some of which are permanent and others temporary.  Note that you now will be unable to continue to play the game on any device until you have performed the update.  On my Kindle, I had to delete a number of other games and apps before the update would fit.

Among the temporary options are special Guests that can be invited for the Chinese New Year, although this will end on 30 January.  You will find the option to invite special Guests ALWAYS on the bottom left of the Guest House screen in a little bubble or cloud.  When you are rewarded by these guests, you will receive both Coins and Chinese Lion Doll Tokens.  The Chinese Lion Doll Tokens can be used to craft three different items in the Factory.  Two are old Decorations in the form of the Ice Cat and the Snow Hedge but there is one new Decoration in the form of the Tree Mail Box.  The number of Chinese Lion Doll Tokens to make each is:

30 Chinese Lion Doll Tokens: Ice Cat
50 Chinese Lion Doll Tokens:  Tree Mail Box

Special Guest Groups

The Special Guest Groups are a temporary option, usually linked to a specific Festival like Christmas or in this case, the Lunar New Year.  In any situation where the game adds special Guest Groups, they will be the usual Guests dressed in special costumes with special requests that fall within the classifications of the sort of things that they usually prefer but in this case, dishes or items that the game considers to be 'Chinese Products.'   For example Huey, dressed now in an Asian festive hat, often requests seafood items.

As previously indicated, you will find the special Chinese New Year Guests in a little round icon on the bottom left of the Guest House Menu.  As with any Guest Invitations, you will need Passports to invite a set of Guests.  If you have used your Passports for the day, you can buy more by tapping on the plus sign next to the Passport number bar.  Buying the first additional passport costs 150 TC.

Note that when special Guest groups are introduced, you will have to unlock the various levels in the same way in which you unlock ordinary Guest Groups from different areas on the 'Map'.  Telescopes are required and used for the 2 Star and 3 Star Levels.  What this means is that you always will find a need at some point for more Telescopes and that means continuing to open Chests on a regular basis.

Ingredients Needed to fill all Orders

I have logged the actual Orders I received at the different Star Levels but essentially, you will need a large quantity of the following ingredients:

Rice
  You will need raw Rice as well as Rice Flour, and the Rice is used as well in a number of different Dishes that are requested.

Soft Dough
  You will need a very large quantity of Soft Dough.  One guest requests this, but it is used in a number of different Dishes that are requested as well.

Eggs
  More than one visitor will request raw Eggs, and Eggs feature as an ingredient for many of the dishes that are requested.

Other Crops, Fruits, Products:
  Sweet Potato, Kumquat, Sugar, Coconut, Green Beans, Spinach, Cabbage

Seafood Items
  You will need Shrimp Balls (processed from Crayfish) and Crab that is processed from the Blue Swimmer Crab.  You will need a quantity of Seaweed as well.  All three of these items feature in Dishes that are requested, usually by Huey.

Coffee Friendship Flowers

There is a special sale for a new type of Friendship Flower.  It is the Coffee Friendship Flower.  Initially, I was not terribly interested in this one.  I thought I would need to have one in my garden to register it in the Gallery but other than that.. until I read the description.    Both Host and Recipient will receive 5 RC AND 6-11 random Pet Cards when it matures and is crossbred.  That number of Pet Cards will not make an enormous difference but it does give a new type of Reward for a Friendship Flower.

Upgrader Batch Production

A big improvement in the game recently is the ability now to use Batch Production with any Upgrader.  Initially, we were forced to use our Animals and Machines manually while they were on their Upgraders in order to produce the amounts necessary to upgrade them.

You now can expand your Decorations section in the Warehouse from 150 to 170 if you feel the need.  What is required is:

60 Cement Bags (Request to Buddy)
9 Fire Extinguishers (3 RC each or purchase in Yellow Mystrons Shop for 100 Yellow Mystrons each)
20 Wooden Panels (Craft on Island or pay 1 RC for each)
15 Diamonds (Craft on Island or pay 3 RC for each)

Remember that you always can store any Decorations in the General section of your Warehouse and retrieve them from that location by selecting 'All'.  Gadgets and stackable decorations no longer occupy slots in the Warehouse but have their own section where there is no limit.

This time, the Collection Set consists of two Trees in the form of the Cashew and the Juneberry Trees and the Evil Eye Vase Decoration.  Register all three before the expiration of the Quest to obtain a Clam Friendship Flower as well as the usual 88 Green Mystrons and 1 RC.

Ice Base

The Ice Base is back in the Market.  You can purchase it for 3000 Coins.  Materials to complete it can be purchased in the Special Daily Deals section of the Market or you can purchase them for 1 RC each.

New animated stackable Decorations for the Base are being offered in the special Sales available in the top right corner of your game screen.  These consist of the following:  Seal Fish Bucket, Seal Ice Pond and Seal on the Rock.  When all three are on the Base, they will perform a cute sequence of tossing a fish to one another.  Finally, the Seal in the Seal Fish Bucket will eat the fish.

Above, a photo of the three new Decorations.  The Seal in the Fish Bucket has taken a dive in this moment, while the Seal in the Pond has leapt into the air and the Seal on the Rock, awakening from a doze on the rock, is fully involved in the movements of the fish from seal to seal.
