I have a post that gives ALL the Bases with all Decorations that can be stacked on each. Here is the link:
Decorations 101, all Bases and their Stackable Decorations
Since I first created this post, there have been a couple of significant changes in the game. The first is the Clean Ticket option that allows your Pet to visit up to 20 Farms in a 'Batch', bringing back Gift Boxes and other rewards. The time it takes depends on the number of farms visited. The rewards are based on the actual Cleanable Decorations and whether or not there are Dishes to be consumed on the Cooking Stand at the time of the visit.
Another small change is a new Island Blue Box. This may be associated with some of the Decorations you can obtain after you reach Level 150. It definitely is associated with one Decoration sold in a special sale recently in the form of the lovely Bird Family that should be placed on the Island.
Please bear in mind the fact that generally speaking, all Bases and all Decorations rewarded by the Cooking Stand Contests give Blue Boxes. There are a couple of Bases who do not give Blue Boxes, but most do. The Decorations that are given as Rewards for completing the time-restricted Missions that begin on Friday mornings give Purple Gift Boxes. Now these Missions no longer give Island Decorations but have switched to giving one Accessory for the Pet House and one Decoration for the Seaside Farm.
A fairly new change in Seaside is the ability to clean Decorations that are stored in the Warehouse. When a player has stored Decorations, the ones of the highest values (giving Blue Boxes) will be cleaned first. Decorations stacked on Bases can be cleaned while on the bases. The first Gift Box will be from the Base itself.
This is an updated post that will include all Cleanable Decorations with the type or colour of Gift Box associated with them as well as their Charm Values. I originally created this post only to list the Cleanable Decorations with their Rewards when cleaned but I now intend to include the Charm Value of each as well. At the end of this post, you now will find a list of all the non-cleanable Decorations.
Bases and Stackable Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Originally, a farmer had to go through every Decoration on his/her farm, attempting to stack each on every possible Base to find out which ones had been added to the stackable list. Now, all you have to do, in the case of any completed Base is first to choose the Move tool on the Base and then activate the 'Search' Tool (magnifying glass) within the Base's own Menu. This will show you all possible positions for stackable Decorations as well as giving you a list of each in every position. You can position them for a preview as well if you wish! This is one of the GOOD new options in the game!
Values and Uses of Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Originally, Decorations were simply decorative in nature. They were used solely to beautify the farm or make it unique. Now, however, Decorations have other uses. Cleanable Decorations yield 'Gift Boxes' of various colours when cleaned by a neighbour or Buddy. Even non-cleanable Decorations have values in the form of a specific Charm Value and when part of the 'Theme' for a current Farm Beauty Contest, a value in terms of Votes as well as the rating of the farm.
Note however that recently Landscape Totals supplanted Charm Point totals in the Farm Beauty Contest for specific Character Votes and ratings.
The Charm value of any Decoration is found in a small flower pink or red flower icon with a number inside it. The number represents the Charm Value. When the item has a Coin cost, the total number of these Decorations that can be counted for Charm on any farm usually is limited to 5 but when the Decoration has an RC cost, there is no limit to the total number that can be placed on any farm to add Charm to it.
Charm Values are the reason I have expanded this post to include a section that lists the Decorations that have Charm values but are not cleanable. Now, however, in November 2016, Charm for the most part has become less important and has been superceded by the concept of 'Landscape'. Charm still is relevant in increasing Landscape Points but it is not as significant as it once was.
Most
players are familiar now with the various Gift Boxes in Family Farm
Seaside and how they are obtained. Basically, there are two types of
Decorations in the form of those that can be 'cleaned' by Neighbours to
yield Gift Boxes and those that cannot be cleaned. Beyond that,
however, there are further distinctions.
Gift Boxes
come in different colours. Each Decoration yields a Gift Box of a
specific colour. The very best Gift Boxes are the Blue ones. As a
basic rule, EVERY final Decoration from a Cooking Stand Contest yields a
Blue Box. Every Decoration from a time-restricted Quest gives a Purple
Gift Box. EVERY Base yields a Blue Box. Finally, it is through the
special Sales primarily that new Decorations that give Blue Boxes are
obtained.
In the Gallery now, some Decorations are
highlighted but although many of the ones that yield Blue Boxes are
highlighted in gold, this is not the reason. I am beginning to suspect
that such highlighting may denote the most popular Decorations.
The
most valuable Gift Boxes tend to be those that are Blue or Gold. I
therefore will list the Decorations that yield these colours first.
Note
there is a new type of Decoration in the form of the temporary Trophies
given to players who have high rank in the Farm Beauty Contest.
Harvest Moon FDC received an Iron Trophy in the last contest.
Unfortunately, there was a glitch that both prevented me from
registering the Trophy and prevented any player from cleaning it for
almost a fortnight That now has been fixed, giving me the opportunity
to discover that the Iron Trophy yields a special Iron Trophy Gift Box
actually named the Farm Beauty Contest Iron Cleaning Box. Although it
is very pretty, it really is not as valuable as the Blue or Gold Gift
Boxes. It usually contains nothing more than Coins and a few Green
Mystrons. Nonetheless, I like having it in my Gift Box!

Note
that the first Bases released have yielded a Blue Box, but the Ice
Base is giving a Purple Box, rather disappointingly... as are the two Bases earned by completing Lighthouse Missions.
Most
of the other cleanable Decorations yield Purple Gift Boxes which are
the second best of all the colours. Lower on the scale are the Silver
Cleaning Boxes.
Every colour
contains a random assortment of Items that can include Power, OP,,
Coins, Gasoline and Green Mystrons. The only difference between the
Gift Boxes of various colours is that the Blue Boxes usually contain
more Items than the others. The Gold Gift Boxes are the next in value
generally speaking.
Note that Island Decorations NEVER
yield the original Blue Gift Boxes, although now there is a light blue Island Gift Box. They yield Boxes, however, that include Island
Farm Aids as well as the usual Rewards.
From time to
time, a special sale or offer will include Decorations that temporarily
yield RC or Yellow Mystrons instead of the usual Cleaning Gift Boxes.
After a specified number of days, the same Decoration will begin to
yield Gift Boxes instead.
To obtain any Gift Cleaning
Bag, you either need to be the owner of a Cleanable Decoration that is
placed on your own Farm and then cleaned by a Neighbour or your have to
visit a Neighbour's Farm to clean a Decoration there.
There
are other 'bags' that contain similar Items to those found randomly in
Cleaning Gift Bags. These include the Loyal Player Reward, the Cooking
Gift Bag and the Angel Rain Package. The Loyal Player Reward is one
that is given to a Player who stays logged into the game for a specific
amount of time. The Cooking Gift Bag is given whenever a farmer eats at
a Neighbour's Cooking Stand. The Angel Rain Egg, when cleaned by a
neighbour, yields the Angel Rain Package.
Stacked Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Stacked
Decorations are a fairly new option that was created with the various
'Bases'. All Bases when complete give a Blue Gift Box, but you can
'stack' other Decorations on them and these each give their own Cleaning
Box, the colour of which is linked to THAT Decoration. Whenever you
visit a Neighbour who has a Base stacked with Decorations, the first
Neighbour to clean the Base will receive the Blue Gift Bag... after
that, you can try to clean a specific Decoration by tapping on its
position on the base and you will receive the Gift Box that is
associated with that Decoration. In other words, up to five cleanings
can take place on a base that is stacked with the maximum of four
Decorations. The exception to this is the Bird Home Base simply because
the Decorations that can be stacked on it are NOT Cleanable. They have
Charm points but cannot be cleaned.
Storage of Stacked Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A recent update to the game has changed the configuration of the Warehouse to give it three main sections rather than two. These are as follows: Warehouse, Decorations, Gadgets.
The labels are a little misleading here as 'Gadgets' really encompasses ALL Stackable items, whether they are indeed Gadgets for Upgraders or Decorations that can be stacked on the various Bases, including the Bird Home Bases that are sold in the Market as well as the Bases that were obtained through Seasonal activities or now can be obtained by completing specific Lighthouse Missions.
In terms of the Warehouse and Decorations tabs, only items actually being stored will be shown when you access those areas, but where the Gadgets tab is concerned, you will see ALL Stackable items, whether or not they are being stored or are placed currently either on the farm or on their designated Bases. There is one possible action for these items which is 'Use'. If indeed the item is being used currently, that action will not be available and will be greyed out as it were. If, however, the item is being stored, you will be able to tap on 'Use' to place it either directly on your Farm or on its designated Upgrader or Base.
Remember that almost every Stackable item can be used solely on one specific Base or Upgrader. You will see the jigsaw icon when using the 'Move' Tool only when you have brought the item to hover over the Base or Upgrader where it can be stacked.
Charm Points
xxxxxxxxxxx
This
brings me to the Farm Beauty Contests and the business of Charm Points
and Theme Decorations. Once upon a time, we placed only the Decorations
we liked personally as well as trying to place as many of those that
yielded the Blue Boxes as possible. Now with the advent of the Farm
Beauty Contests, we have to worry about Theme and Charm Points. What
that means is that some of us tend to load our farms with as many
Decorations as possible, especially when they have been declared to be
part of the current Theme for a Contest. Theme Decorations can
consist both of cleanable Decorations and ones that cannot be cleaned.
They can include items without any Charm Point value as well. When
farms are crowded densely with Decorations, it sometimes is difficult to
find the ones with the Blue Gift Boxes. Nonetheless, this is our brave
new world...
Note that the rules have changed now in
that Decorations that are purchased with Coins will have a limit as far
as the Charm point total for purposes of any Farm Beauty Contest.
Achievements
xxxxxxxxxxxx
Note
that Achievements now include specific numbers of each colour of Gift
Box to be obtained from Neighbours' Farms. It therefore is worth the
effort to clean EVERY kind of cleanable Decoration now!
Tips for Farmers
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
As
the Blue Boxes do contain the best items for the most part (everything
IS random, of course), it is a good idea not to crowd cleanable
Decorations that yield different colours of Gift Boxes together unless
you are past the point where it matters to you... if you place all Blue
Box Decorations together in front or in another prominent or easily
accessible position, you probably will obtain more Blue Boxes every
night when the game resets.
Gold Cleaning Box List
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This
is a new list so it will be updated gradually. The Gold Cleaning Gift
Boxes are almost as valuable as the Blue Gift Boxes. In fact, I
sometimes receive more OP from the Gold ones than the Blue...
I do believe that all the Decoration Rewards from the Farm Beauty Contests give Gold Cleaning Boxes.

Silver Gift Boxes
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The
Silver Gift Boxes probably are the least valuable of all. Oddly
enough, the large Swimming Pool yields only a Silver Gift Box as does
the Duck Pond that we had to build a couple of years ago. I do believe
that the Gift Hill gives a Silver Box as well. In fact, many of the
Cleanable Decorations that you can purchase in the Market for Coins give
only a Silver Gift Box. Some do not give ANY Box but only give Coins.

All
Time-Restricted Quest Decorations yield Island Purple Gift Boxes. The
Island Decorations that you purchase in the Market for RC yield Island
Gold Cleaning Boxes. For example, the Cow Plant Stand and Sheep Plant
Stand both yield the Island Gold Cleaning Boxes where the Swan Lake and
Christmas House yield the Purple. The Landmark Decorations that you

Which Decorations are Cleanable?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If
you see the icon of a Cleaning Brush next to the Decoration, it is
Cleanable. When you purchase a Decoration in a special Sale, tap on the
little 'i' that gives information and it will tell you precisely what
colour of Cleaning Gift Box you will receive from the Decoration as well
as any special temporary Rewards such as RC, Yellow Mystrons or others.
The temporary Rewards usually are for 5 to 7 cleanings and are NOT
time-restricted. If no one cleans the Decoration, the temporary Special
Reward will activate whenever it is cleaned... and there can be gaps
between cleanings as well.

Back in the day, the Collections Missions consisted of a Decorative building that had to be placed on the farm before one could begin the various Collections that gave Rewards. These 'buildings' could be upgraded to Level 5 and only when fully upgraded could be stored once the Collections Mission expired. When stored, you will find them only under the 'All' tab of the general Warehouse. They have no Charm Value and never are featured in the Theme of any Farm Beauty Contest. They are quite interesting and many are seasonal in nature. Sadly, the nature of Collections Missions has changed and one no longer builds any decorative building... furthermore, there is only one Reward for completing the Mission as opposed to multiple Rewards that once included Farm Aids, Decorations, Trees and even Machines.

Black Friday Sale Offers Decorations
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This is a temporary list of all the Decorations currently offered in the 'Black Friday' sales with the colour of Gift Boxes they give... I just came out of hospital having had a major operation so will do things this way because I am in too much pain to sift through lists to see which ones were added and which still need adding. This way everything currently on offer is listed and I can organise it later into the main lists.
A word of warning about the sales offers. They are not all equal. The DIY offers, where you can choose your Decoration, has one that offers mainly Decorations that give Blue Gift Boxes but one Decoration included gives only a Purple Gift Box. The Decorations that are included in the Fortune Packages for the most part all give Purple Gift Boxes and nothing better than that. Obviously there are other reasons why players choose specific decorations... perhaps they are trying to complete their Galleries and there is only one they missed or perhaps they simply LIKE a specific Decoration. If, however, you are choosing according to value, the Blue Gift Box Decorations are the most valuable. Read the entire information detail found by tapping the question mark icon, though, because many of these Decorations will dispense something extra like Blue Mystrons, Yellow Mystrons, Green mystrons or 1 RC for 5 to 7 Days as well as giving the appropriate Gift Box when cleaned.

Tips on Being a Good Neighbour
I have written posts about this before, but as I visited some of my Neighbours today, I realised a new post might be helpful to some of my fellow farmers.
First of all, there is a proliferation of cleanable Decorations that makes a visit a bit different from Neighbour visits in the past. Cleanable Decoration are not all equal by any means. The ones that deliver the best rewards on the original Seaside Farm, generally speaking, are the ones that give Blue Gift Boxes. Most of these come from items offered in special sales events as well as some of the Rewards for completing a Cooking Stand Event but there are a few that can be purchased in the Market. These include the Market Stall and the Clothes Drying Rack. Decorations purchased with Coins usually do not deliver the best Rewards when cleaned. Most of the time-restricted Quest Rewards give Purple Cleaning Boxes.
I did write a post once that listed all of the Cleanable Decorations with the colours of Gift Boxes or other Rewards that they yielded, but it needs to be updated. Meanwhile, though, from memory, I do know that the following yield Blue Gift Boxes: Market Stall, Clothes Drying Rack, Mini Beach, Red Panda Habitat, Small Squirrel, Toucan, Sheep Table Set, Christmas Train, Mommy Duck, Thai Elephant, Japanese Garden, Flamingo, Boy Cupid, Girl Cupid, Teddy Bear Balloon, Panda Table Set. There are a few more, but I have to make certain before I add them to the list. I would imagine that, once earned, the Cow Table Set will as well as this is a Cooking Stand Contest Reward and so far, all Rewards from these Contests have yielded the coveted Blue Gift Box.
There are some that surprisingly do NOT give Blue Gift Boxes, including the Willow, yielding only a Silver, Duck Swimming Pool and the Hammock. Nor does the large Swimming Pool.
There is a distinction to be made between Cleanable Decoraitons on the Island and those on the original Seaside Farm. Island Decorations when cleaned tend to yield Gift Boxes that include items useful only to Farmers on the Island. They do include items that can be used on either Farm but the tools used to fell Island Trees and so on can be found in these boxes as well.
There are two situations that can be frustrating to visitors. One is when Farmers have an enormous number of Decorations jumbled together in such a way as to give a visitor no way of knowing how to tap on the ones that give the best Gift Boxes because they are placed so close together. This is counterproductive not only for the visitor but for the Farmer who owns the Decorations because often they include the Decorations that yield only coins. It is better to store Decorations now that give only coins, keeping out only the ones that yield decent Gift Boxes.
Second, very often one visits a Farm only to find that all the plots are empty, awaiting a new planting. I do understand that Farmers who are involved in a quest sequence may wish to wait for the next task, but meanwhile, one always can plant Clover, taking only half an hour to mature or Pasture or Pineapple, both of which take only an hour to mature. A visitor cannot earn any Coins or XP from empty plots or from Trees that need to be harvested. That is the third issue... too often, all Trees on a Farm are laden with ripe fruit and need to be harvested before a visitor can interact with them.
Again, these are not issues that affect only the visitor. The Farmer who owns the Farm will achieve more if he/she makes certain to perform the tasks that will give both visitors and himself or herself the best results.
A final point is the speed with which any Farmer obtains his/her Gift Boxes from Decorations that have been cleaned by Neighbours in the course of any given day. In my game, all Gift Boxes from Neighbour Visits appear on my Decorations at 8.00 p.m. each night. I do not know if the time is constant irrespective of the Farmer's time zone or varies from zone to zone, but it is a good idea to find out when this occurs so that you can obtain benefits from Neighbour visits to your Farm again where your most valuable Decorations are concerned.
I know that I am not perfect in terms of my own Farm and my actions. I keep far too many Irises on my field. I hope that one day the developers will make this a permanent Crop but meanwhile, these are plots that can receive a Neighbour's interaction only once.
As far as Decorations are concerned, apart from those that appeal to me personally, I do try to load my Farm with those that yield the Blue Gift Boxes. I have stored many of those that yielded only Coins. (Many of the Christmas Decorations give Coins and it is the wrong time of year for those in any case! The only Christmas Decoration on my farm now is the beautiful candle surrounded with angels and that is simply because I think it is enchanting. Actually, the Train is a Christmas Decoration but it gives the Blue Gift Box, so I have two on the Farm for visitors to clean.
Note, however, that there are Achievements that require you to obtain specific totals of other colours of Gift Boxes, including the Golden Cleaning Gift Box. Silver Cleaning Gift Box and Purple Cleaning Gift Box. Do not scorn the lesser colours, therefore, as every Achievement gives its own Rewards.
If you visit your Neighbours on a daily basis, it is more likely that they will visit you as one of the default list orders of Neighbours is your Most Recent Helpers. Thus, if you visit a Neighbour, your place in the list will be higher than a Farmer who did not do so.
In this context, it perhaps would be helpful to discuss the Neighbour option. At the top of the Neighbour screen (accessed either through your Menu or the icon of hands clasping) you will see on the left a pull-down box that gives different visiting orders. There are: Recent Helpers, Fertilisable, Facebook, Call Back, Level, Island Farm and New. Each has its own advantages. The 'Call Back' option usually is used only when you wish to delete Neighbours who no longer play the game. This is important only if you have reached the maximum number of Neighbours allowed by the game.
On the top right of the Neighbour screen is an option to mark 'Island Farm First'. This will take you directly to the Island of any Neighbour who has unlocked it. Cleaning Decorations on the Island delivers different Gift Boxes than the Decorations on the original Seaside Farm. There is only one problem with this option: you will not have access to the Cooking Stand. If there is no active Cooking Stand Contest, this will not matter, but if there is an ongoing Contest, you will miss the opportunity to obtain the Cooking Gift Bags that are available in addition to the 1 Cleaning Gift Box you can obtain from any Neighbour's farm per day.
You can toggle back and forth from one option to another. Visiting 'New' Neighbours is a kindness, even if they are low level players who have not unlocked the Cooking Stand or obtained any Cleanable Decorations yet! Furthermore, remember that doing so will alert them to your Farm and possibly a reciprocal visit.
In any case, I would urge my Neighbours to store Decorations that do not yield good Rewards unless they love those Decorations and to plant even Clover on their fields rather than leaving plots bare for hours. I understand this is a game and real life must take precedence, but it makes sense to improve your own yields as well as those of your visitors if you can.
Daily Requests and Free Gifts
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
A player who has over 300 Neighbours will be hard-pressed to distinguish between them in terms of gift-giving and usually will 'Select All' when sending a daily Free Gift item but it still may be worth mentioning the Trees that are in the Free Gifts Menu. Today, when I visited a Neighbour, he/she had changed the name of the farm to 'Do Not Send Trees!'. Trees make a great free gift for low-level players but a medium or high level player will have no use for them, where Wheat Flour, Milk, Honey, Cheddar Cheese and to a lesser extent, Wine, Blueberry, Red Rose, Glass Bottle, Glass and Earring Hooks always can be used. White Rose Bouquets can be sold for a fair price, where selling an Apple Tree or Orange Tree yields next to nothing. To access the FreeGifts option, you need to go to the Menu. It is the first box on the top left of the screen. Do not confuse this with Free Gifts on the lower right of your screen that gives you access to your own Gift Box. Every player both can send a FreeGift and respond to one Request from every Neighbour daily.
Magic Bunny
xxxxxxxxxxxx
I did not think this topic worth a post of its own but it should be mentioned. The old 'Activities' pop-up no longer will appear when you access your farm. Instead, go to Activity in the Menu and tap on it to be taken to the Market where you can purchase a Magic Bunny for 2000 Coins. This Magic Bunny can be placed anywhere on your Farm, including the Building Plots area. Tap on it to see the current Weekly Activity. There is another tab now as well that will take you to the Daily Orders, which have changed to include an increased number of Orders. Island Items now have been featured randomly as well, requiring that you transport them from the Island before you can sell them. The Weekly Activity still earns the Farmer 10 Yellow Mystrons. Somehow, the Daily Orders are connected with Blue Mystrons, but I have not encountered those yet.
Strategies for Completing Missions
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
An important component in the traditional Fortune Telling Night sequence that may not be as familiar to new players as veterans are the requirements to make Items in the Beauty Shop. I have seen posts on Facebook asking whether or not the Beauty Shop is worth the price. Well, like other buildings that cannot be sold or stored, it will be used again and again. If you do not complete it, you will be unable to participate in many of the Quests unless you spend RC to 'skip' the task. It therefore makes sense to spend the RC on the Beauty Shop instead.
Beauty Shop Items like those processed in the Seafood House, take time to complete. Each Item has a different time frame, but the Item is counted towards the Quest task when you BEGIN to craft it and not when it is completed. Note that many of the Ingredients are in fact Items processed in the Seafood House. In this Fortune Telling Quest, you first have to make some Conch Earrings. Later you will be required to make 10 Rose Facial Masques and 10 Pearl Hydrating Masques. Note that ALL Masques have the Clay Facial Masque as the primary ingredient. You therefore may wish to prepare these in advance. You will need a total of 20 Clay Facial Masques to complete the two tasks.
A difficulty where Processed Items made in the Seafood House is concerned is the fact that many of these are only possible bonus Items. The Janthina Sea Snail that produces the Conch required to make Conch Earrings ALWAYS yields two Conch shells but the Nautica Sea Snail that produces the Snail Shells only does so as a possible bonus. Furthermore, it takes 50 Minutes to process a single Nautica Sea Snail. The Conch Earrings are one of the earliest tasks in the Quest sequence. If you have been diligent, you will have plenty of Snail Shells in your Barn. If not, you either will be required to wait while the Items are processed, buy each Snail Shell for 1 RC or skip the task by using RC. .
Likewise, the Pearl that is needed for the Pearl Hydrating Masque is only a possible Bonus when Scallops are processed. As the two Masques are needed to complete later Tasks in the Quest, you may wish to make certain that you produce as many as possible in advance. Unfortunately, there is a task that requires you actually to process 10 Gulfweeds, which means that your Seafood House will be in use at THAT point. Nonetheless, good planning should help you where the Pearls are concerned.
As far as Crops and Animal Products are concerned, you will need a fair amount of Beef to complete the traditional Quest sequence. You need Beef for Beef Salami as well as for use in one of the new Recipes. I have found that 20 Beef often are sold in the Mystery Shop. As my Farm, although expanded to the largest size, is very crowded, I find it useful to purchase the Beef when offered using Green Mystrons rather than allowing the enormous Cow to occupy most of my free space! Other Farmers may not have this problem but whether you produce it yourself or purchase it, the Beef will be needed.
Many of the Tasks require Items that use Machine Products as Ingredients. One of these is the requirement to produce 15 Kvass. Kvass uses Black Bread and Honey. Black Bread is produced in your Baker. It is not a bad idea always to have plenty of Wheat Bread and Black Bread on hand in your Barn for potential use in future Quests. Oat Bread is useful as well but not to the same extent. Incidentally, I never take any Power out of my Gift Box until it is needed. As your Power will refill over the course of time, it is best to use additional Power only when YOUR Power gauge has reached zero.
The most Power intensive series of tasks is Fortune Telling Night VI when you will need two Pickled Cabbage and two Onions for each of the 20 Braised Cabbage. You therefore will need a total of 60 Power to complete this single task. With the 6 Juniper Sausage, you need a total of 66 Power. If possible, make the Pickled Cabbage in advance!
Other products that you can obtain in advance are the Milk and Maple Syrup needed to make Maple Milk Tea and the Apples and Maple Syrup needed for the Candied Apples. If you have been playing the game for awhile, you should have plenty of all these in your Barn as long as you harvest your Trees regularly. Milk can be requested from Neighbours as a Free Gift. When there is no ongoing Quest, I try to request Milk, Wheat Flour and Cheddar Cheese from my Neighbours for stockpiling as these Items are used constantly.
In this Quest, you will need great quantities of Rice, both in order to obtain the Blue Candles that Peacock Feathers yield randomly and for use as an Ingredient in Cooked Dishes. The appearance of any Collection Item always is random. You will need a total of 50 Blue Candles. This could require the production of 100 Peacock Feathers or 300 Peacock Feathers depending upon your personal luck. Rice must be fed to a Peacock to produce a Peacock Feather.
When to spend RC (Premium Cash)
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Many Farmers do not wish to spend ANY RC in any so-called 'free' game but if it is a game that you like, you may wish to invest in it, as without funding, these games cannot improve and sometimes even die. Unfortunately, unlike the original Family Farm that gives RC as a daily log-in Reward on a regular basis, Seaside does this only rarely. You can earn RC, however, by completing Accomplishments and by registering specific Items or Collections.
How, then, should you spend your precious premium cash? I would suggest that you use it to produce the greatest benefits for your Farm. In terms of RC that is required to complete any Building or Machine or to buy a specific Tree or Animal, these are investments that really cannot be avoided if you wish to be able to complete all Quests or Missions and obtain all possible Rewards. Do not hesitate, therefore, to use your RC if it is absolutely necessary to purchase a Material to complete a Building or Machine. Every Building and Machine is required again and again. You only delay the inevitable if you 'skip' a task that requires the use of a specific Machine because you are reluctant to spend RC to complete it. In any case, you only can skip Tasks in Quests by paying RC, so you really are wasting your money if you do this.
There are times, however, when the use of RC during a Quest sequence is beneficial. In some cases, an Ingredient needed to make the Item required in a task cannot be obtained quickly or easily. This is true particularly where 'bonus' items processed from Seafood Items are concerned. You may process 30 of the Seafood Item without receiving the Bonus Item you need. In such a case, you may consider, not 'skipping' the Task but purchasing the actual Ingredient instead. After all, each action in Seaside usually has an XP Reward and increasing your Level of Experience may unlock new Items and Quests.
Where Farm Aids are concerned, it is better to obtain these by using Gift Boxes than by purchasing them but sometimes you simply need more. If you are embarking upon a time-restricted Quest or Mission, you may wish to invest in the Farm Aid you need most, whether it is OP or Fertilisers. Seaside does give Farm Aid Rewards, however. You can obtain them in Gift Boxes, by registering Items in your Gallery or by completing Accomplishments. Your level of patience will determine whether or not you wish to speed a task by using a Farm Aid.
On the whole, I prefer to purchase 200 Super Fertilisers for 21 RC rather than purchasing Rainbow Rain for 30 RC. The Super Fertiliser can be used for specific Crops I need. The Rainbow Rain simply blankets your entire Farm. If the Rainbow Rain were less expensive, I would use it, but in the circumstances, I would rather target the specific Crops needed to complete a Task.
Power always is a problem in these time-restricted Quests but the price of purchase for extra Power is truly prohibitive. For 20 RC, for example, you obtain only 30 Power. It is far better to visit Neighbours and place as many cleanable Decorations as possible on your own Farm in order to garner as much Power as possible. Remember, however, that any Reward found in a Gift Box is random. What is true is that the Blue Gift Boxes contain the best Rewards and the greatest number. This brings me to another opportunity to use your precious RC.
From time to time, sales will appear in the top right corner of your screen. They are time-limited and usually include a special Decoration as well as Fertiliser or RC. If you are willing to spend real money on this game, the sales are one of the very best investments. Not only do you receive RC that usually would have to be purchased by itself but you often can obtain a Decoration that yields the valuable Blue Gift Box when cleaned. The most recent example of this was a sale that offered the Boy Cupid, the Girl Cupid and the Japanese Garden in different offers. All of these yield Blue Gift Boxes, I believe. Other Decorations that yield the Blue Gift Boxes include the Market Stall and the special Decorations rewarded for completing Cooking Stand Contests. Among the latter are the Toucan and the Small Squirrel.
Purchasing a bundle of items in a special Sale therefore carries multiple Rewards for the Farmer, especially when it includes a Decoration that yields a Blue Gift Box. These Items when registered often give a Reward in the form of 1 RC. When part of a Collection, registration of the Collection often gives an RC Reward. Finally, each time a Neighbour cleans the Decoration for you, you receive a Blue Gift Box that may contain OP or Power.
Finally, where any Collections Mission is concerned, there are two different strategies that make it easier. One is to have multiple Machines or Animals working together to produce the product that randomly produces the Collections Items. The second is Batch Production. Batch Production really is the least frustrating method of completing any Collection Mission where any Animal or Machine is concerned. By using Batch Production for the Animal and Machine, you can focus on the Crop and Tree that yields the other two Colours of the designated Item. If you are patient, you can wait for the Crop and Tree to produce the Items naturally, but if not, you can use a Farm Aid to speed matters along.
Gallery Registration
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
All three Items that are Rewards in this Quest can be registered and have the following values:
Juniper Bush: 8 Medals, 2 Super Watering Cans
Street Lamp: 2 Medals, 2 Power
Flower Barrow: 5 Medals, 15 Green Mystron
When you have registered all three, you will gain the Collections Reward for the Fortune Telling Night Collection as follows:
5 Medals, 150 Green Mystrons, 1 RC
The History of St. Andrew's Night
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The celebration of St. Andrew's Day and Night basically is rooted in Northern European traditions. St. Andrew was St. Peter's younger brother and his martyrdom took place on a cross that was fashioned in the shape of an X. In the old Northern European Rune alphabet, this form is a Rune named Gebo, signifying both 'Gift' and 'Sacrifice'. As the Festival occurs at the very end of November, traditionally a time when blood sacrifices were made in ancient Northern Europe, it is possible that St. Andrew originally represented an older form of human sacrifice for the fertility of the land.
Whatever its origins, St. Andrew's Night is a time when girls traditionally played ritual games in order to discover whom they would marry. (We did this ourselves as children.) One would peel an apple very carefully, making certain that the entire peel remained unbroken, then throw it over ones shoulder. When it landed, the shape it made would represent the first letter of the name of ones future husband.
Another old rite is that of melting wax and dropping it into water to see what form is made. This can be done using molten metal as well, provided one has the means. Another ritual is that of writing the names of potential spouses and placing them beneath the pillow. In the morning, one chooses a slip of paper and the name written on it will be the future spouse. A girl often will bury either 21 grains of wheat or a fresh sprig of basil beneath their pillows. If none is taken in the night, she will marry within the year.
St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, Poland, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. The festival is celebrated both in Austria and Germany. The very flag of Scotland has the saltire or cross of St. Andrew emblazoned upon it.
St. Andrew is considered the first of Christ's disciples by many. He was one of the fishermen who, hearing the call of the Saviour, cast down his nets instantly to follow, becoming instead a 'fisher of men' according to tradition.
The Festival of St. Andrew falls on 30 November during the time of an old Roman festival devoted to Saturn in his manifestation as 'Father Time'. The depictions of St. Andrew usually show him as an old man who originally would have represented the Sun at the very end of the year, when he is old and weary. in Romania in particular, some of the ancient traditions connected to St. Andrew's Festival are inherited from the Romans. On St. Andrew's Night, wolves are allowed to eat whatever and whomever they wish. They can speak to humans as well on this night but if a person should hear one speak, he or she will die within the year.
Another Romanian tradition is that of the mother of the house taking branches from Apple, Cherry, Pear Trees and Rosebushes to make bracelets for all the members of the family. The one that blooms by New Year will enjoy special health and good fortune.
There is another rite connected to the belief that ghosts haunt the land on this night. The rite is a special social gathering known as 'guarding the garlic'. The doors and windows of the house are rubbed with fresh garlic. All the dishes in the house then are turned upside down. Three bulbs of garlic for each girl at the gathering are placed in a wooden tub in a room lit only by candlelight. An old woman is set to the job of guarding the garlic throughout the night. In the morning, the tub is taken outside and every one dances round it. Each guest then takes some garlic home for protection.
Another rite of protection involves the cattle and livestock. Salt is blessed and buried beneath the door of the stable. On St. George's Day, it will be unearthed and given to the livestock. This is a rite of protection against wolves. St. Andrew is known as the patron saint of wolves.
There are many more traditions that involve divination and protection.
