Magical Wonderland Activity

This is a new option in Seaside.  I usually dislike the activities that are labour intensive, and require massive amounts of time, and this is both, but having played breeding games in the past that involved unicorns and ponies, I rather like this one.

I now have received the final Rewards, and although I set no alarm, I think it required about 15 to 17 hours of gameplay to reach the Level 10 status at a total of 2000 gems.  Maximum gems total is 20,000 gems.  That is a prodigious amount of time to spend in Seaside on an activity that has no link at all to my farm.

On the other hand, I adore the Unicorn and the presence of Unicorns and Pegasi was what drew me to the original Family Farm game.

This mini game is designed to persuade you to spend RC and cash.  The one option I recommend is the VIP Pass that is the only way to earn the actual Unicorn at the very end.  The free pass gives you special rewards including a Sleeping Unicorn Blue Box Decoration, an avatar and a frame, but the VIP Pass alone delivers an actual Unicorn.

The Unicorn is an Animal when, placed on your farm and fed Lucky Stars, will give you Unicorn Feathers.  The developers have confused Unicorns with Pegasi here, but however designated, it is a magical creature.

The Level Menu with its Pass format is on the top left of the screen.  You earn gems only by creating and merging Unicorns.  Like most of these games, the points required to reach the next level increase by leaps and bounds.  Nonetheless, it is a 10 day Activity.  My advice is to use patience if you do not like to spend RC or cash.

Note that you can refresh your Stamina once per day for a coin price of 1000 Coins.  The second refresh costs 1 RC, and after that, it is 2 RC per refresh.  Stamina will be replenished gradually as time passes but that is a slow process.

There will be a special sale offer each day on the top right offering Stamina and RC for cash.  After three of these 23 hour sales, there may not be further offers.  I did not see obe, but then, I had achieved my goals.  I believe you must reach a certain level to generate each of these.

The heart of this game is to create a chain of three or five matching items.  You then drag one item towards the other 2 or 4 to merge them into one that is higher on the scale.  Higher level items need to be created in order to unlock new screens that are obscured by fog.  Moreover, when they are unicorns, they are worth more in gems.  Only the Unicorns allow you to advance on the Free Pass and VIP Pass path.

Note that waiting to merge five items instead of three gives you two new higher level items instead of one.  It is more valuable when they are the higher level items that you are merging, but if you can resist the ability to merge three, it us worthwhile to hold out for the double reward for five items.

The plant items offer special little rewards as well.  I was able to create a Level 4 Magic Star Grove that released Stars at intervals two or three times before it disappeared.  The stars are currency for Seaside aids like OP.

You will be able to trade these in the Magic Store, found on the bottom right of the screen.

There are two tabs.  One is for Coin and RC purchases and the other is for Stars.

The Coin Menu offers three different Merge items for different prices.  It refreshes daily, but you can opt to refresh earlier if you pay.  Further, once the coin items are purchased, higher level items will appear.  You have to use RC for those.

N.B.  It is solely unicorns that give Gems towards the primary prizes for this activity.  The first item for creating unicorns is the Unicorn Horn.  Five of these creates two Unicorn Wings.  You receive Unicorn Horns as a sort of bonus item when you merge other items.  Unicorn Wings can be found in chests, but the Unicorn Horns are generated whn you merge other items.

Five Unicorn Wings are needed for two Baby Unicorns.  Where Unicorns are concerned, the benefit of waiting to merge 5 items instead of 3 is significant.

The items you have unlocked are listed in the Magic Gallery.  This menu is found by tapping on the book icon on the lower left side.  It is tge Magic Gallery that shows you the process by which you can obtain the specific items that unlock new areas on the map.

It is very important to unlock new areas on the map.  Look at the icon that is above the next area covered by fog.  You need to create this item, and then tap on the icon again to unlock that area.  Doing so gives you more spaces and often new items inside the obstacles you find there.

Sometimes you need to sacrifice items in the interest of space.  Merge three of the low level items if you need to clear spaces.

The other primary action is to remove obstacles on the map.  Tbese are rock and waterfall formations of various kinds.  Tap on each to see how much stamina is required to begin the process.  At each stage, items are released that can be merged.  At the final stage, a chest will appear that contains merge items.  The square on the map then will be clear.  These obstacles when removed clear a path or unlock new obstacles.

The lowest amount needed for any obstacle is 6 Stamina. The highest is 24 Stamina.  At each stage, you receive one or more merge items.

It took me a bit of time to see the function of the sun that falls down the screen.  Tap on it where there is a free space and it will become a random item.  Not very valuable, but it usually is a coin or plant.  If you are very lucky, it could drop Stamina in the form of a tiny lightning bolt.  Can be worth 10 Stamina.

N.B. You do not need empty spaces to be able to move any merge item, but in fact can place it on a space that is occupied by another merge item.  The merge item you replace will be moved to an empty space.  It can go to a different area on the map if there is no space for it on the same area.

Freyashawk in the Farm Beauty Contest.  My farm ranked No. 7.  I know I do not create clever geometric designs for the Contest, but my farm contains every Crop and Decoration that the game ever released, even the Crops like the Carp Banner.  It reoresents a history of this game from its inception.   I always like to create miniature scenes and landscapes, so I have an Ice garden area and a Lunar New Year area, among others.   The fact is that I ask for votes only because it inspires me to continue to update this site and allows me to gauge the interest of players in these updates.  I make absolutely no money from it.

Note from Freyashawk: Farmers never should feel obligated to visit neighbours.  Any farmer receives rewards by visiting YOU, especially if you have invested in premium decorations.  They receive coins, XP and a gift box reward for each visit they make.

There is a common misconception now about visits.  Global chat can be filled with posts by farmers who threaten to delete players who fail to visit them.  Amazingly they can be high level farmers!  Do they not understand that their visits to you give them more rewards than your visits to them?  It is heartbreaking when players beg forgiveness for not visiting because of illness or a death in the family.  Shame on those who bully others, whether they are in their teens or octogenarians.  It is so unnecessary and fosters a toxic attitude in this farming game.  I kind of suspect these farmers do not realise how unpleasant their threatening posts are.  People can become obsessive about games.

A new Farm Beauty Contest tomorrow, only a day after new premium theme items have been released.  

HM. Freyashawk was less than 100 votes from top ten, but although at No. 8 initially the last day, was 11 at the end of the contest.  I am grateful to all who have continued to vote for the farm.  The totals required are insane.  Please note that the reward for solving these riddles is the new Theme base.

The Reward is the new Childhood Memory Base.  This will be worth 9 votes per day when completed and placed on your farm, so if you are low on character votes, using RC after reset to complete the base is a good strategy.  At that point, you should be able to complete it for 15 RC, as you are given three free solutions per day with a total of 21 riddles.  That is 9 votrs daily for 21 voting periods that you lose if you do not place it completed at the start.

Your votes for HM. Freyashawk in the Farm Beauty Contest are the only validation for continuing to update this site.  I find the continuing increase in the number of premium items every month a little excessive, although I believe players should support games they play and like.  There is a vast difference, however, between paying the amount of one meal at a restaurant and paying out an amount that might cover a bill for one of life's essentials.   I stopped playing the original Family Farm when it became staggeringly large.  Seaside appears to be folloeing the model of the original.  The problem here is that the servers and game platforms for many players no longer support this game.  Players need to contact Support to beg them not to continue to expand this mobile game.  When you lose half of your neighbours, is it worth the cost for a new Activity?  The developers could opt to create a stand alone game instead for the Activities rather than attempting to force overloaded systems to accept these extras.

System update: The developers announced a fix for the Facebook log in issue.  Compensation for lost log in days was sent and the Beauty Contest extended to the end of the month. If HM. Freyashawk could end in the top 10 again after many months, it would mean a lot, but I realise voting can be time consuming.  It puzzles me, however, when high level farmers do not even register at all for the Contest when they could offer 6 votes daily to a neighbour.

Note to lower levels: Island items often are unlocked by Development Totals or Mastery Levels.  Highest total remains 7250.  Violets require a high level to unlock as does the Violet Essential Oil, requiring 3 Star Mastery of the Essential Oil Machine.

Note from Freyashawk:  As of 24 May, there still are countless loyal players of Seaside who cannot access their farms.  I reported the Facebook avatar issue to the developers, and was assured they were working in a fix.  It is rather outrageous that they have pushed players all these years to link their farms to Facebook, but now cannot manage to allow the avatars to load.  Many farmers recognise neighbours by their avatars, after all.   I thank all those who continue to vote for HM. Freyashawk in the Beauty Contest.  The game is unmanageable in its scope, but I have plans to add to the task list for Darryl's Adventure.  Your votes give me a sense of the usefulness of this site.  I ask only for HM. Freyashawk and only to try to reach the top ten in rank to make players aware of the site still.

Please remind yourselves that Darryl's Adventure has no time limit.  I perform tasks now only when I have no time restricted quests or Activities to complete.  Take your time. 

Farm Beauty Contests:

For high level players, there is no reason why they should not be able to reach a total of 6000 votes without neighbour votes if they are willing to plan from the start, and spend RC earned in the game even if unwilling to spend real cash.  The increased theme total actually aids players.  Vote requirenents were not increased!  I will write a little guide for the next contest.

Friendship Flowers: you can register your own now.  If you have more than one farm, it can be useful to keep mature flowers in your garden for the sake of earning points to increase the garden level.

Neighbour visits: the insistence on reciprocity is counterproductive.  Yiur visit to a neiggbour, especially one who has invested in premium decorations gives YOU valuable rewards.  I do not delete inactive neighbours with valuable decorations.  I earn the best gift boxes sometimes from them.

Players tend to make demands without thinking logically.  High level Buddies, even when inactive, can be useful.  You need a few active Buddies, but not 15 necessarily.

I am grateful to all the neighbours I have, whether they visit or not, because they are fellow human beings who so often in dark hours offer moral support and prayers to us.  Please spare a moment to think of all those who come to the game with heartbreak, illness, loss and any other issues that make the road a difficult one.

Note from Freyashawk: HM. Freyashawk currently is at No. 10, dropping from No. 7.  I am grateful for every vote.  I reap no financial benefit from publishing on Google, nor from any source.  I have had this site for almost nine years.  Because I was hacked, the ability to edit old posts no longer exists but I do try to cover the timed quests still.  Being able to be in the top 10 at the end of the contest is a measure of this site's usefulness only.  I do not ask because of the negligable RC it would reward, but only to keep Freyashawk visible as a guide writer.  I no longer have the ability to work on complex enormous guides, but I have written some helpful posts for New Horizons on this site recently as well.  My guide for the original Gamecube version of Animal Crossing was over 1000 pages on IGN.  Those days are gone, but I still try to help players when possible.  Seaside now is too enormous to cover every activity, but I will try to continue to post the timed quests and Riddle solutions.  The latter costs me 18 RC to complete, by the way, so guide writing costs me financially rather than giving me any profit.

Starry Sky, Pisces

This is one of the oldest activities and it is charming, not too labour-intensive, and offers a good reward.  It will expire in 8 and a half days now.

The final Reward is a Pisces Statue that is worth 4 Landscape Points and gives a Purple Gift Box when cleaned.

You are taken to a Constellation Map, and a magical wand is given each day to activate a star.  Once activated, the three tasks must be completed within two hours.  If you wish to activate more stars, you must pay 2 RC for each additional magical wand, but you will have a new 'free' wand at reset.

Stars can be activated in any order.  Numbering is arbitrary.

Incidentally, you can use 'Out of Nowhere' instead of Batch Production if you do not have ingredients.

Love and Care Quest and Heart-Shaped Card Collection Mission

A new 11 day traditional  Quest sequence has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission.  It purports to be a romantic St. Valentine's Day theme, but some of the items have me at a loss.  A Meat Grinder is the Reward for collecting Heart-Shaped Cards.  We are asked to fashion Tractor Tires in our kitchen as one of our tasks.  The final Decoration is a Heart-Shaped Balloons Decoration, however.

A new Farm Beauty Contest has been generated hot on the heels of the last one.  High level farms should be able to organise themzelves to reach 6000 votes without askibg for neighbour votes.  If you are at a high level, you should hqve RC.  Use that RC to complete the new Base.  When placed, it is worth 9 votes per day for theme.  There are theme deciratiobs in the Lucky Wheel/Share Box as well that can be purchased for RC.  Those who refuse to spend 'real money' thus can use game currency to boost their farm value.  You need less than 200 votes per day to gain the Decoration at 4000.  You need less than 300 for the Avatar at 6000.  And it is not a 'daily' requirement actually.  It is just convenient to measure it that way.

HM. Freyashawk only needs your votes to rank.  I think it is outrageous that it appears to be impossible now to rank in the top 10 with ordinary gameplay by having your neighbours send their votes to you.  Winners are manipulating the system or actually cheating.  I do not ask for votes for any farm except HM. Freyashawk.  For me, it shows whether or not updating thiz sure still is useful.  I do not get paid.  I get nothing feom Google.  I am a target for hackers in fact.  Health issues and the ever expanding size of this game make it difficult to cover everything at this point in time.  My last procedure was not without effects that have to be addressed.  I do what I can, abd try to post the timed quests at least.  Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.
