The Mission is two-fold as usual with a Collections Mission and a traditional Quest sequence. The main difference between this time-restricted Mission and those that preceded it is that it is the very first to incorporate the Island in the Tasks. The traditional Winter Break Quest sequence therefore hs been divided into three main Parts, each comprised of four groups of tasks. At the end of each group of four, you will receive a special Reward. The first is a Reward that consists of Farm Aids. The second is a Decoration for the Seaside Farm and the third is a Decoration for the Island Farm. If, therefore, you have not unlocked the Island yet, you still can complete Winter Break I through Winter Break VIII to receive the Seaside Decoration Reward. It is only Winter Break XI and Winter Break XII that include Tasks that require access to the Island.

The traditional Quest sequence essentially is in three parts, with a Reward for completing the fourth part of each sequence. When you complete Winter Break IV, you will receive a special Gift Package that contains Super Fertiliser, Super Watering Cans and Power. When you complete Winter Break VIII, you will receive a Sandcastle Decoration for your Seaside Farm. When you complete Winter Break XII, you will receive a Play Area Decoration for your Island Farm. Note that this is the first time-restricted Mission that includes both the Seaside Farm and the Island Farm. If you have not unlocked the Island Farm yet, you still can complete most of the Tasks in the traditional Quest sequence.
Note that you need not complete the Collections Mission in order to obtain the important Reward, which is the Plumeria Tree. You can purchase that in the Market for 6 RC if you prefer.
If you study the traditional Quest sequence, you will see that different tasks in the early portions of the Quest require the production of Items that randomly produce Surfboards. In Winter Break II, you need to harvest 40 Daisies. In Winter Break V, 4 Elderberries and 50 Bottles of Wine are required. Daisies produce the Blue Surfboards of which you need a total of 70. Wine produces the Red Surfboards of which you need a total of 50 and Elderberries produce the Purple Surfboards of which you need a total of 10. It therefore makes sense here not to complete the Collections Mission too early, especially as you will not need the Plumeria Tree until Winter Break VII.

In Winter Break XII, you need to ship Angora Hair made by the Angora Rabbit from the Seaside Farm to the Island, process it in the Spinning Machine there, then ship it BACK to the Seaside Farm to sell it from the Barn there. Without access to the Island, skipping these Tasks will cost a total of 80 RC. The Decoration that is the Reward for completing the last four steps in the Quest sequence is one that can be used ONLY on the Island.
