Trade Voyage Quest and Options

The post for the current Quest is below this one.  I am creating a brief post for the Trade Voyage because so many players are confused.

First, please bear in mind that the Trade Voyage Quest is not time-restricted.  There is absolutely no reason to push yourself to complete it.

The untimed quest appeared recently.  It is designed to encourage players to become involved in this new extra aspect of the game.

I wrote a post about Unlocking the Port when the option was released.  You can find it on this site.  I am not going to repeat that information.

Once you have unlocked the port, you can send your boat to trade between New York and Rio de Janeiro.

Tip:  When you activate the tutorial, exit without using any Maritime Coins to make the purchase.  It takes time to earn Maritime Coins.  Save them to unlock the third port. All the Maritine Coin totals for unlocking each port are in my earlier post.

You must be able to trade the first two items in order to activate a voyage.  The third item is not required.  It will give you the greatest number of Maritime Coins perhaps, but if you do not have the required token, do not worry about it.  I find I almost never am able to use the token items I have earned.  Someday, when all ports have been unlocked, I will be able to use them all.

Note that if you neither have nor can make the items required for the first two trades, you can refresh the orders.

I will add to this post as time permits.  For noe I want to explain the Auest rask of lighting a room.

Tap on the boat icon on the bottom left of your screen to see the cabins you have unlocked. In that menu, you can place, move or store furnishinfs.

The first icon on the bottom right shows the Market and the first tab shows the furnishings you can purchase with Maritime Coins.

You will notive there are different set themes.  To light up a room, you must have and place every furnushing in a single set.

The themes in the Market are: Modern, Retro, Royal, Relaxing, Cozy.

There is one more theme in the form of the Cozy Set.  One item in this theme is offered in a time limited special sale offer each time you unlock a new port.  It may be a quicker way to complete a full set if you are willing to spend cash.

The third tab in the menu shown by the book icon shows all the furniture you have.

The fourth tab shows each room.  When you complete a full set, you can claim a reward here.

New additions to the Voyage option are two chests that appear each day in the water.  They may be free or cost 1 RC each.  The items they contain are random

The other new option is that of visiting the boat of a neigbbour or buddy.  When you visit any buddy or neighbour, you will see a boat icon has been added on the right of your screen.  Visiting the boats of three neighbours is the third task in the Trade Voyage Quest.

Underwater Expedition

I am writing a brief post becauae so many playeds are confused about this.  It really is quite simole.  Do not be distracted!  It is a maze game essentially.

When you first start, you have options to boost one of three aids.  To do any of these, you need 5 of the special reward coins as well as a Seaside item.  I feel it is coubterproductive to spend the reward coins.  You can conplete the activity usually without the boosts.

Press Play.

You have a little submarine on a map covered completely by fog.  You see numbers from 1 to 10 with exclamation points.  Ignore all of them at this point.  Simply clear every patch of fog.  Collect every reward but do not engage with any creature!

Once you have done this, find every creature with the number one and defeat it.  Your energy total and level are displayed on the top left.  When your level increases to 2, find the level 2 crsatures and defeat them. Continue in this way until you have defeated all the creatures.  If you fight at your own level, you can do this without any problem ordinarily.

If indeed you run out of energy, you have a choice to pay 1 RC to replenish.  Up to you.

Sometimes a little fog cannot be cleared without defeating a creature.  Do not engage until you are at the same level.

If you are not bothered by the loss of 5 coins, get the boost that strengthens the hull before you begin.  I myself prefer to save the coins.  Witb 600 Reward coins, you can purchase an avatar or a frame.  I thought I saw a decoration as well, but have not found it again.  Will confirm later.

N.B.  when you stand directly in frobt of any creature, its stats will be displayed in the top right of the screen.  Comoare with your stats to make certain your energy and level are sufficient.

This is the game.

The special coins can be used at the shop for special rewards.

Wishing Island

This is an Activity that is much like others in the past.  Clear obstacles, collecting materials from them and build or tend objects on the map as directed.  Always use the magnifying glass when you are given a task.  Do not try to make your own choices.  It is only by going to the exact object Felicia describes that you make progress.

There are many areas unlocked only by using Golden Tools.  Use your Diamonds to buy these or accept one of the special deals.

The difficult item in terms of collection in this activity is the Paper Crane.  They are few.  There are Paper Crane bushes on a timer.  Wait for the new growth.  Do not waste RC.  I would suggest, however, that the only time you spend Diamonds is on Paper Cranes to complete a task or on Golden Tools.

Note that using Diamonds to obtain materials will not advance the total of items collected.  In other words, if you use diamonds to complete the required number of Oaper Cranes for a build, the ones you bought will not be counted towards any total.

One advantage of unlocking the areas that require golden tools is that they contain more Paper Crane trees.

Work in progress:

I began with 212 Energy, 86 diamonds

1. Clear 1 patch of Magic Grass

2. Cover 1 Pond: 4 stone,  4 grass

3. Build 1 Stone flower bridge: 2 branches, 3 wood, 1 wishing stone

First cover a pit:  2  branches, 2 grass, 2 wood to cover it

4. Clear 1 Rock cluster with mushrooms ( required 24 energy then 18 energy)

5. Cover 1 pond: 2 grass, 4 stone, 3 wishing stone

6. Build 1 wishing mailbox: 4 stone, 1 paper crane, 3 wishing stone

I had only 10 energy left so I went back to open all the boxes at the starting area. Increased to 131 Energy total, 10 in each box

7. Clear 1 pile grey rocks

8. Clear 1 bush (21 energy)

Now there are more gift boxes

126 before opening:

2 boxes giving 20 energy

Now you can build a bridge with gold tools or move towards next goal

9. Build 1 wooden flower brifge:

5 wood, 5 stone, 5 wishing stone

Now you can clear an obstacle to the west of the wishing mail box to obtain 5 gift boxes

These contain 10 energy each.

Now you either can clear Magic Fog to the northwest using golden tools or move north towards the bridge you need to build

Magic Fog: 1 Golden Pickaxe, 1 Golden Saw, 1 Golden Shovel

If you clear the fog, there will be 6 ordinary gift boxes, 5 special gift boxes that contain 20 energy each, two pink boxes containing 10 energy, 2 diamonds each, one super gift box that contains 40 energy? And the best pink that contains 30 energy and 5 diamonds I think.  Go north, clesr stone and grass to find three more gift boxes.contsining a total of 40 energy

Now:

10. Build 1 Wishing Msilbox: 5 Stone, 3 Wishing Stone, 5 Paper Crane

11. Clear 1 pile of grey rocks

12. Build 1 Paper Crane Jar: q Grass, 3 Wood, 4 Paper Cranes

To get there, you will go through an area with more gift boxes.

Before, 250 energy, 56 Diamonds.  After 320 Energy, 56 Diamonds

You then must cover a pit: 5 branches, 5 grass, 5 wood

More gift boxes then.  Before, 270 energy, 56 diamonds.  After 320 energy, 56 diamonds

13. Build 1 Wishing Mailbox: 5 stone, 4 Wishing Stone, 4 Paper Crane

To do this, clear a couple of obstacles and then cover a Pond first.

Pond: 5 Wood, 7 Wishing Stone, 7 Paper Crane

Now you can open more gift boxes.

Before: 20 Energy, 61 Diamonds.  After, 141 Energy, 61 Diamonds

Up to this point, the Paper Crane Bush would give 1 Paper Crane.  Four in rain are on a timer now.  When the timer expires, they simply can be harvested again.  No additional reward.

14. Build 1 Paper Crane Jar: 10 Stone, 9 Wishing Stone, 9 Paper Crane

This requires covering a pit and building a bridge first

Cover Pit: 3 branches, 3 grass, 3 wood

Stone Flower Bridge: 5 Wood, 5 Stone, 5 Wishing Stone

15.  Build 1 Wishing Mailbox: 7 Wood, 7 Wishing Stone, 7 Paper Crane

Note that to the north, there is a Wooden Flower Bridge requiring 3 of each if the golden tools to build

15. Clear 1 Bush: (21 Energy)

16.  Cover 1 Pit: 5 Wood, 7 Wishing Stars, 7 Paper Cranes

You will see fog everywhere.  By clesring 1 obstacle, some fog disperses, allowing you to see what is ahead

17.  Tend 1 Wishing Tree: 8 Wishing Stone, 5 Wind Chimes, 8 Paper Cranes

Near there, 2 new types of  boxes that contain wind chimes

There is a Mary's Cow to the north of this Wishing Tree

My game keeps crashing.

To reach the Mary, you must go all the way round and chop down many trees and remove other obstacles

When you restore the Wishing Tree, a flower mat appears in the water, allowing you to cross to the next area

18. Clear 1 Tall Rock with Mushrooms (Requires 3 blows)

N.B. I never opened the gift boxes in one of the first areas unlocked by building a Wooden Flower Bridge.  It is in the North.  Opening now.

Go south from the area where you need to build the Jar, remove a couple of obstacles and find gift boxes and Paper Crane Trees you need.

At the farthest point to the West, to the left of the Wishing Tree you now must tend is a little grass that, when removed, gives access to more gift boxes.

Move north to see Magic Fog, a cloud of butterflies.  To clear, you will need 3 Golden Pickaxe, 3 Golden Shovel

If you clear this, open gift boxes.

After: 3000 Energy (approximately), 388 Diamonds.  My girl hacked at Wishing Stone rocks twice by accident and thst used about 60 Energy.

A bonus here is that there are four Paper Crane trees

This is an unfinished post.  I am just working this out.

NOTE THAT THE ITEM NEEDED FOR THE THIRD ROW TRADE WILL CHANGE!  IT CAN BE ANY OF THE SPECIAL REWARD ITEMS AT ANY PORT.

Now even Support acknowledged this is confusing.  With only two ports unlocked, simply fill the trades demanded at BOTH ports and the ship will set sail for two hours.  You must fill the demands in order, doing the first row before the second, but the ship can set sail with only the first row filled at both ports.  It is the second row orders, however, that randomly give the special items as rewards thst are required to fill the third row orders.  Note, however, that the third row rewards never are anything special.  They are Seaside aids like Power.  What the third row does give is more Coins thsn the first or second

I do not recommend paying RC for that.  The Port is a slow, long term option in the game.  Do not allow it to stress you out.  If you cannot fill tje orders displayed, you can refresh to change them for a small amount of TC.

You start with New York and Rio de Janeiro unlocked.  By performing the required trade voyages and paying out Maritime Coins, you can unlock Cairo and then...

Rio de Janeiro is unlocked as well as a destination.  You will see three trades possible at each location.   The trades you execute determine your rewards.

The final third row requires special items only obtained through executing second row trades.  Without these items, you can pay RC to complete the order.  The only significant reward from the third row is more Maritime Coins than given by the first two rows.  This is not worth spending RC.  The significant order always is the second row and it only RANDOMLY gives a special item as a reward.

The third row in New York trades required the Bear Soccer Players you earn randomly by filling the second row of Orders in Rio.   Filling my second row New York orders today gave me two Statuette of Liberty.  Claiming the reward from the book gave me 100 Maritime Coins.  Those statues can be used later I expect to complete Orders for another port.  Later, I received 10 of the Bear Soccer Players from Rio.  I was able to use those in New York.  Now, however, the third row in both ports requires the Boomerang from Melbourne.

Support has not explained any of it to my satisfaction, but I will keep on.  The ship will be launched automatically when you activate the destination.

Essentially, the action is as follows:

With two ports and three trades for each, fill as many of the orders as you can at both.  They must be filled in order.  First row, the second, then third.  It is seldom you will have the special items required for the third trade at this point.  Do what you can and the journey will be activated.  It lasts almost 2 hours.  Keep trading and travelling until you can unlock Melbourne.

It really is not worthwhile to pay RC to execute the third trade.

Note that in four voyages, I only earned 340 Maritime Coins.  Stupidly, I allowed the tutorial to dictate the expenditure of the Coins given initially.  I now have a Modern Sofa I really do not want!

The reason I write this is to show that the whole business will be a slow process.  I have 4 Voyages and 340 Maritime Coins.  I believe it is not be having them that anything us unlocked but by spending them to unlock a new option.

Unlike Darryl's Adventure, it does not appear that any Rewards have any effect on the main Seaside game apart from giving small rewards in the form of Power and such..

The furnishing of the ship cabins reminds me a little of the Room Renovations activity, except that there is no time limit.

You do need to make the trade items for the first and second row orders in Seaside.

I used RC to complete these.  Sometimes the items are hard to name.  Hope all are correctly listed.  The base when placed should be worth 9 theme votes daily if you are not at maximum for theme.

2 June: Incidentally, there was no timer for the Beauty Contest last night and no boom for theme items.  I think it is outrageous to spring a contest upon us today.  What is the rush?  I almost did not register because I have a cat who is ill and have bern distracted by that.  Players had two periods only to solve riddles for the new base without paying.  There is something really unseemly about the haste to force us to obtsin new bases and ptemium decorations.  Not to mention a new Activity today.

One more point.  I very much appreciate the support of the farmers who vote for HM. Freyashawk again and again but I am not certain this site is needed as it once was.  I missed being in the top q0 in the last contest by about 200 votes.  If one more farmer had sent six Votes daily, I would have had the required total.  I always told myself the votes were a measure of the usefulness of the site.  People on Facebook ask to join my Seaside group but do not know about or use the site.  This site is the point of the group, and is freely available to any one, always without advertising.

The final Reward for the ordinary path is a Mermaid Crown Princess that gives a Blue Box.  The final VIP Reward is a premium Animal in the form of a Pelican who eats Yellow Croaker and produces Deep Sea Fish Oil.

The essence of this game is to merge items to create better items and to clear objects to obtain other objects.  By creating specific new superior objects, you unlock more areas on the map.

The first new area is unlocked when you create the Baby Mermaid. Each of the higher Mermaids in the chain will unlock a new area through the Mermaid  Crown Princess.  After that, you will need a Level 7 Royal Pearl Shell, then a Level 7 Seaweed Patch, and finally a Level 7 Octopus.  The areas must be unlocked in order.

N.B.  Tip!!!  Note that the Octopus items are the rarest and are obtained most often from the ship part obstacles.  I find them on the second clearing effort that requires 8 Stamina.

The activity runs on Stamina.  This refreshes over time or can be purchased.  In any given day, the first purchase giving 90 Stamina costs 1000 coins.  The second purchase giving 90 Stamina costs 1 RC.  The third purchase of 90 Stamina costs 2 RC.

You can merge three of a kind to create a higher level item but if you merge five instead, you receive a bonus higher level item.  Reasons to merge three are to clear spaces on the map or to create the first item needed to unlock a new area.

Note that the Mermaid Roe are generated when you merge objects and they can be merged to create a Baby Mermaid.

Further Stamina is required actually to create a Mermaid and that process is also on a timer.

Chains:  To unlock the last few areas, you need a Level 7 item from one of the various chains.  It is possible that every gane is different, but the last area requires a Level 7 Octopus and that is the only Level 7 item that still eludes me.  In general, the Octopus items appear to be rare at least in my game.  I am at Level 9, but cannot manage that merge yet.

All chains are listed in a Book called the Magic Gallery.  Unlocking a new item in a Chain gives Stamina Rewards.

At the bottom left is the Gallery where you can see the items you have unlocked in each chain.

On the bottom right is the shop, the Magic Store.  Here you can buy items for Coins and RC. You can refresh the items or wait until reset to refresh automatically.

In the second tab, you can spend the Stars you collect with the Magic Grove.  Randomly, you may find a gear or Machine Mastery ticket here.

Fairy Island Activity

Initially, I believed this Activity to be more farmer friendly than its predecessors, allowing one to make far better progress without spending cash.  I apologise for leading farners down the 'primrose path' of disappointment with that statement.  The Activity begins with success, but becomes as brutal and unforgiving as its predecessors when one reaches 700 Stars.  The amount of materials required becomes absurd and it is simply exhausting to make them in the Workshop.

Note that you do not need to complete all tasks or all that earns Stars to obtain the final Reward.  The game does state that any Energy and Diamonds earned beyond what is required will be available for use in the next Activity of this sort.

I am including a full walkthrough below.  As I did not plan to write a walkthrough originally, I am working from two different farms.  Bear with me!  The full walkthrough is at the end of the post.

Unfortunately, I now have spent most of my RC to create this Walkthrough and still have some way to go.  I simply cannot afford to spend more cash now, so it will take a little longer.  As one progresses, one needs to expend more Energy.  400 Energy does not do much at this point!

Note that I give my own Energy and Diamond totals before and after opening gift boxes rather than doing the maths each time.

Follow the prompts to achieve the best results rather than removing obstacles randomly.

Tip: Always tap the search option in the prompt to fibd yoir way to the precise obstacle you must remove or object you need to build!!!   I made the error in previous games of thinking independently.  Follow orders!!!

In the bottom left is the menu for the Rewards earned with Stars.  Try to complete those tasks in tandem with the prompts if possible.

I found my first Mary's Gift without being forced to search. It actually was partly visible.  It is to the right of a Fairy Stage.

Before, 244 Energy, 137 Diamonds.  After, 444 Energy, 187 Diamonds.

I found my second Mary's Surprise Gift by accessing the little peninsula that resembles an arrow.

Trading Energy:  on the map itself, a crystal above a flower.  Here you can trade Seaside resources for Energy.  Trades are on a timer.  I believe it takes 4 hours to yield the results irrespective of level.

The Trading Energy begins with a 30 Energy capacity.  To upgrade it to Level 2 costs 10 Diamonds.  If you are a low level farmer, it may be best to stay at Level 1 as you may not gave sufficient resources in Seaside for many trades.

On my little 2nd farm, I have 544 Energy and 312 Diamonds, so I probably will use 10 to upgrade.  Note that the timer is 4 hours at both levels.

At the very start, farmer has 152 Energy and 10 Diamonds.  After building the first bridge, open all boxes.  You should have 272 Energy, 10 Diamonds.  Clear 1 Magic Bush and open boxes. 271 Energy, 10 Diamonds to 391 Energy and 10 Diamonds.  You now can use your golden tools if you wish to build the bridge to the south.)

On the Map, there is a Magic Workshop.  This is new.  Build it to create materials you will need:

You can use Diamonds to add a slot if you wish to produce faster.  I believe the 2nd slot cost 3 Diamonds.  The third costs 5 Diamonds.

Meanwhile, I used 60 Diamonds to build a bridge that required golden tools.  In the area I accessed, I was able to collect the following:

I went there with 275 Energy and 267 Diamonds.  After opening boxes, 880 Energy and 277 Diamonds.   I think this is a better use of Diamonds than speeding up the timers.  I did use Diamonds as well to add a second slot to the Workshop.

I used 90 Diamonds to build a bridge that required 3 of each Golden Tool. 

Before, 27 Energy, 192 Diamonds.  After opening gift boxes, 623 Energy, 227 Diamonds.

I also decided to trade my existing RC for Diamonds instead of spending cash I cannot spare this month.  If you go to the top of the screen, there is an option to trade RC for Diamonds.

60 Diamonds to build a third bridge with golden tools, two of each sort.  I had 258 Energy, 3 Diamonds and after opening the boxes had 733 Energy, 18 Diamonds.

There is another area that requires Golden Tools to clear Magic Fog.  30 Diamonds for 1 tool of each type.  I had 79 Energy. 8 Diamonds.  After, 449 Energy, 38 Diamonds.

(Second farm: 173 252,  after 543 282)

Note that you are given one set of golden tools in your imventory.  You can build a bridge in the middle of the south of the map.  What you receive:

Another bridge in the south requires 3 golden tools of each type or 90 Diamonds.

Going there, I had 180 Energy and 3 Diamonds. After opening boxes, 775 Energy, 38 Diamonds

  This requires quite a journey. You first open boxes.  I had 250 Energy.  After, 310.  You need to clear a Pond (15 Wood, 15 Stone, 10 Magic Wreath)  

After clearing the Pond, you can open boxes if you clear obstacles. I had 374 Energy, 8 Diamonds.  After, 434 Energy, 8 Diamonds.

N.B.  At this point, there is only the final Reward when I reach 1300 Stars.  There is no Energy or Diamonds to be gained by completing any more tasks, only Stars.  There is one more Mary's Surprise Gift, but no boxes in the next area as far as I can tell.

I chose to cover the Pond.  The rask to build the Fountain remains active but I can open gift boxes now.  

Before: 119 Energy, 3 Diamonds, after: 279 Energy, 3 Diamonds.  Not significant really, but I am one step closer to the area with the 3rd Mary's Surprise Gift.

The requirements for the Fountain are daunting.  There is one more area to access using Golden Tools.  One needs 1 of each, or 30 Diamonds.  I convert RC to Diamomds and cover the Pond.  Before, 49 Energy, 13 Diamonds. After I open all boxes, 329 Energy, 18 Diamonds.  It will be some time before I can build the Fountain.

Required :88, 44, 22 Energy .  Now you can see the 3rd Mary's Surprise Gift to the far left.  You will need to clear obstacles to reach it.

When I reached the Fog, I could collect enough Rewards for the final Prizes at 1300 Stars.

After clearing the Magic Fog, one can open boxes in a new area after clearing some grass.   I had 65 Energy, 76 Diamonds.  After, 205 Energy, 76 Diamonds.

41. Build 1 Stone Flower Bridge (5 Magic Flower Wreath, 5 Heart Fruit Sculpture, 2 Mushroom on a Stump)

I had to use most of my Energy to reach the bridge.

Note, I still get 15 Energy for completing a task.

Energy situation: I upgraded the fountain to Level 3 giving 70 Energy every 4 hours.  What this means is that if you have no Energy saved, you cannot perform this task in one session.
