Tractor Race Quest and Key Rings Collection Mission

A new 11 day Quest has begun.  As usual, a traditional quest sequence was released in tandem with a Collections Mission.

The reward for the Key Rings Collections Mission is a new Stove House Recipe, the Shakshouka Recipe.  You will need a Kumquat Tree to complete this Collection Mission.  The Recipe is given below.

Any one is welcome to post a link to this page in his/her Facebook Group but please do not rip the text without giving credit to Freyashawk.  I work hard to log these quests myself and I am happy to share with every one, but have the decency to credit me, please.

Toy Machine

You will need a Toy Machine to complete all Tasks in the Quest sequence.  The Toy Machine is available again for a limited time in the Market in the Machine department.  You can find it randomly at any time in the Green Mystrons Shop but if you wish to buy it outright, it will cost 800 Coins.  You then need to complete it before you can use it.

Completing a Toy Machine requires the following:

Incomplete Machine: 800 Coins
5 Gear (Neighbour Request or 1 RC each)
5 Screws (Neighbour Request or 1 RC each)
1 Filter (1 RC)
3 Switch (3 RC each)

In other words, you must spend a total of 10 RC to complete the Toy Machine.  The materials that require RC to purchase sometimes may appear randomly in the Coin Mystery Shop for 60,000 Coins, according to members of our Family Farm Seaside Freyashawk group.

Trees to Harvest

When a recipe calls for a fruit harvested from a Tree, you can buy the fruit/product from the Flea Market if you do not own the Tree.  If, however, the actual task is harvesting a specific Tree, you need to have the Tree itself or skip the Task.  The following Trees must be harvested:

Almond
Maple
Sakura
Lychee

Of these, the Almond, Maple and Lychee Trees can be purchased with Coins in the regular Market.

Shakshouka Recipe

The new Stove House Recipe, like most of those that are earned as Rewards for completing a Collection Mission is very simple and cooks quickly.  The ingredients are:

3 Cheddar Cheese
3 Eggs
1 Roasted Tomato Soup (2 Ketchup, 1 Egg Soup.  Egg Soup is made with 1 Egg, 1 Seaweed)
2 Red Peppers

Add all ingredients and cook.  You have to finish it within 20 seconds.   The Dish requires 6 Power.

Fish for Mackerel 6 times
  Skip for 6 RC

  Use the Boost with the Treble Hook to catch 2 Mackerel.  If you are not familiar with the 'Boost' option, it can be activated when you have chosen any specific hook by tapping on the hook and then using the menu there to find the specific item you need to catch.  You have 7 tries by default.  The boost will take three of those tries but will guarantee that the item you hook is the one you have chosen.  You still have to catch it, though!  Thus, with 7 tries, you can use the Boost option twice here to catch 2 Mackerel.  You then either can purchase 5 more tries for 200 TC to give you two more Boosts for 2 more Mackerel or simply wait for time to work its magic to regain 7 tries.  You will need a total of 18 tries using the Boost to catch 6 Mackerel.  Otherwise, you simply can take your chances using the Treble Hook again and again until you have 6 Mackerel or skip the task or part of it using RC.  Note that another task below requires 6 Mackerel!

Tearful Rose Quest and Rose Ice Cream Collections Mission

My visions of these Fairies are derived from the fabulous works of Cicely Mary Barker.  The Rose Fairy is shown above.

(Screenshots of two of the characters in the Quest tale made by the incomparable Madame Alexander.  The Rose Fairy was made in the late 1990s as a special limited edition.  The exquisite Fairy Queen dates from the late 1930s and has what is known as the 'Princess Margaret' face because the mould originally was created for a Princess Margaret doll.  I guess you may be able to tell that I love dolls myself and have collected them for years, although nothing as pristine as the Fairy Queen.  My own Fairy Queen is rather tattered and missing her wand and tag, although I still find her beautiful and was indeed lucky to find her at all!)

The Reward for the Collections Mission is a new 'Collectable' in the form of the Buttercream Stand which means that you must complete this Collections Mission in order to have it on your Farm while the Quest is active.

There was a glitch wherein some players received the third material from the Daily Quest Iron and Silver Chests rather than the Turf Grass.  The developers extended the collection by one day so if you do not have 12 yet, take advantage on Friday, 14 July to collect 2 more.  The item can be purchased for 1 RC as well from the Base Menu.

The third material now should be available in the form of the Clay Bag from the highlighted Order on the Daily Order Board.  You may need to refresh the Orders today or wait until reset.

This is less expensive than skipping the task.   Furthermore, you will need these dishes for another Recipe.

Farm Fiesta Quest and Cocktails Collections Mission

A new Farm Beauty Contest has started.  You really do need to maximise the Votes from the four Characters if you wish to achieve the Decoration at 4000 Votes or the Avatar at 6000 Votes.  Asking for Votes from other players is NOT the answer unless you are very close to 200 Votes per day from the 4 Characters or 300 Votes per day from the same 4 Characters.

It is the current photograph or Snapshot of your Farm that is the basis for ALL Votes, not the current state of your Farm if you changed anything.  In other words, take your time to organise your Farm BEFORE you take the initial 'Snapshot' for entry to the Contest.  This can make a big difference as every day counts in these contests.

The key to this is balance.  You need to have a variety of Crops on the Farm.  Try to have 16 different Crops growing... the total number needed may be lower from 12 to 13 but it is easy to grow different Crops and you have nothing to lose.

You need to have at least 12 different Machines on your Farm to obtain the maximum Votes for Machines from Dad.  Some players claim that the Salad Machine has counted as two Machines in the past but again, to be safe, move as many Machines onto your Farm as possible before you take your initial Snapshot.

Do the same with respect to your Trees.  You need a variety of Trees.  Duplicates never count.  Most players should not have any trouble in placing 16 different types of Trees on the farm.  I believe that the total needed is less, possibly 12 or 13 but again, it does no harm to be safe.

Finally, there are the Animals.  Butterfly Houses and Beehives of each type count as Animals and every type counts as a different Animal.

Landscape Points count for Votes with three of the Characters.  You do not even need 2300 Landscape Points to maximise these votes.  I believe the actual total is close to 2250 points but need to confirm for the current contest.  Recently, the game changed to add Landscape Points to Charm Points for a new total.  I will try to pinpoint the number required for maximum votes.

Expansions are another good source of votes.  You only need to have performed a few expansions to gain maximum votes from Felicia and Dad for expansions.

Another category is your Gallery.  Now that you can register Crops and other items, even low level players should be able to maximise votes for a good Gallery.  Votes are based on the totals of the items you have registered.  Your Gallery 'upgrades' at specific totals.

Finally there are votes for a 'high level' farm.  I have not achieved the maximum on Harvest Moon FDC yet because I believe you have to be at Level 150 now for this.

'Theme' gives votes from three of the four Characters.  Your best bet to maximise your Theme Votes if you have not played long or did not collect Reward Decorations for any other reason would be to purchase the Otter in a Tube from the special sale offer in the top right of the screen.  It is expensive but if you are not at maximum for Theme, it can give you 9 extra Votes for theme each day from the Characters.  If you are unwilling or unable to do that, at least place the new Farm Pool Base for 9 more Votes per day for theme.

Here are screenshots of all Theme Items and below, names and descriptions of each, as well as where they can be obtained if not strictly available in the past.  New Decorations have appeared in the Lucky Wheel, will add prices when they are changed from their current prices of 999 RC which has to be an error!

The Farm Pool Beach Base is one of the few Decorations that will give you 3 Votes from each of three of the Characters every day.  You will find the unfinished Base as well as all the first Materials needed in one of Felicia's Messages.  After claiming the item in the message, you should be able to find it in your Gift Box to place on the farm.  You can obtain the 2nd Material, the Turf Grass, in the first two Chests in the Daily Quest Path until 13 July.  Some farmers, including me, received the
Clay Bag instead on the first day.  We will be in trouble unless the developers exchange them for Turf Grass or extend the deadline by another day.
