Ice Island Activity

This is a walkthrough, now complete.

The best tip for this Activity is always to use the magnifying glass to find whatever you are asked to do.

Strategy Tip:  You can make 4 fish at once in a single slot in the Workshop but it takes longer than making one.  Collecting Pickerelweed Lures does give Star rewards, so I collect them and constantly have 4 fish in the making.  The process takes 20 minutes.

Another tip:  you can build multiple Fish Stalls.  I have built four so far and believe there are more.   I can see the ruins of two more now.   If you are patient, you do not need more slots as much as in previous activities.

New changes:  there are nany items to build that are neither included in the task list nor facilitate travel to the location of the next task.  They do count towards Stars, however.

By virtue of focusing on the list for Star Rewards, you can obtain all the Rewards without completing the tasks.  I will complete the Walkthrough, however.

Note that many materials, Energy and Diamonds can be used for the next Activity.  The ones that cannot be used are the ones specific to this Activiry, like Ice Cubes, Yarn and Fish.

Amother tip: There is a cap on Energy.  Trade for Energy always when your Energy is low.

1.  Clear Grass 12 energy

2. Fill 1 Ice Pit: 1 Ice Cube, 4 Grass

3.  Help 1 Teacup Rabbit: 2 Grass, 1 Ice Cube, 2 Ball of Yarn

4. Clear 1 Bush : 21 energy required

5. Build 1 Fish Stall: 5 Grass, 5 Branch, 5 Wood. (This becomes the Magic Workshop

To reach this, you must build 1 Wooden Suspension Bridge: 5 Branch, 3 Ice Cubes, 1 Ball of Yarn

6.  Clear 1 Bunch of Rocks: requires 18 Energy

7.  Light 1 Bonfire: 5 Branch, 2 Ball of Yarn, 4 Fish

You now need to use the Magic Workshop

The Pickerelweed is purple and it gives you Pickerelweed Lure.  Use this to make the Fish.  3 Diamonds gives you a second slot in the Workshop. 5 Diamonds gives you a third. Clearing all the purple weed will give you 11 Pickerelweed from this area.  It takes 5 minutes to make a fish.

7. Fill 1 Pit: 10 Grass, 5 Ice Cubes, 3 Yarn

8. Build 1 Wooden Suspension Bridge: 5 Wood, 5 Ice Cubes, 3 Yarn

9. Help 1 Teacup Rabbit: 5 Grass, 2 Ice Cubes, 6 Yarn

There are three toys in gift bags.

Pink one gives 1 Toy Train

Blue one gives you 1 Duck

Blue one gives Rockinghorse

Blue contains Duck

10. Fill 1 Pit: 5 Ice Cubes, 2 Yarn, 8 Fish

11. Light 1 Bonfire: 10 Branch, 8 Yarn, 4 Fish

12. Clear 1 Bush: requires 21 Energy

13.  Fix 1 Ice Cabin: 8 Ice Cubes, 8 Yarn, 8 Fish

To reach tbis requires other tasks.

First: 

Clear an Ice Pit: 10 Stone, 8 Ice Cubes, 6 Yarn

Then: Build an Ice Bridge: 8 Wood, 4 Yarn, 4 Fish

14. Clear 1 Pile of Rocks: requires 24 Energy, 18 Energy

15. Fill 1 Ice Pit: 8 Ice Cubes, 8 Yarn, 8 Fish

In this area, covered with mist, is a Fish Stall you can build.

Fish Stall: 5 Grass, 5 Branch, 5 Wood

This Fish Stall gives you another slot to make Fish and you can buy more slots here as well.

While waiting for fish, I cleared all the small mist areas in case something important was concealed there.  But no.  There is a Mary's Surprise beyond the Ice Pit

17. Build 1 Wooden Suspension Bridge: 8 Branch, 10 Ice Cubes, 8 Yarn

To the right, an Ice Bridge requiring two sets of Golfen Tools 

Meanwhile, it tells me I cannot 

build the Wooden Suspension Bridge until I clear more obstacles.  It may mean the Mary's Surprise.

To reach this, you must:

You then need to clear mist by clearing a single grass in order to see the bonfire

23.  Build 1 Wooden Suspension Bridge: 12 Wood, 8 Ice Cubes, 8 Yarn

To do this, you first must:

Cover 1 Pit: 10 Ice Cubes, 5 Yarn, 8 Fish

You then must clear mist by clearing 1 Grass

I am going to collect the gift boxes from the area that required 3 sets of Golden Tools.

You first must clear a variety of grass, bushes, ice to be able to reach the site.

I reached 1300 Stars some time ago, so obtaining more Stars does not benefit me.

The third Mary's Surprise can be reached now by going south and clearing many Pickerelweed Lures.  I now have 21 weeds.

I have 6 Energy, 5 Diamonds.

After opening the Surprise:

206 Energy, 55 Diamonds

I now will open all gift boxes in all the areas I cleared.

I had to destroy two yarn piles, using about 200 Energy to reach one blue gift box and I cleared a bush and some grass by accident (about 45 Energy)

Now have: 5081 Energy, 151 Diamonds

There is one Ice Bridge above the Theatre ruins that would require 4 sets of Golden Tools.  I have only 2 now.

There is an Ice Pit to the East that requires the following: 8 Ice, 8 Yarn, 16 Fish.

You need to fill this Pit to reach the last gift chest that contains 1 Sailboat.  With this, you can make the last Trade to the Trader.  You will receive 2 Golden Shovels for the Sailboats and final reward of 5 RC for completing all trades.

In the area with the last sailboat:

At the far north is a small area that was opened by filling a Pit.

There are two umbuilt items here as follows:

I reached 1300 so need not build these.  If you did not reach the total, here is the value of building all 5 Ice Cqbins:

There is one Ice Bridge still unbuilt.  It requires 4 sets of Golden Tools.  Completing all Ice Bridges gives a lot of Stars:

For 30 Diamonds, detonate a bomb that gives you Ice Cubes, Pickerelweed Lures and some basic materials

Now there is another Tornado that requires 3 sets of Golden Tools to the right.

In this new area, you can build another Fish Stall.

A third Fish Stall can be built in the West. 5 Grass, 5 Branch, 5 Wood) I think it was an area that required Golden Tools.

A fourth Fish Stall can be built in area with an Ice Bridge in the west and a Wooden Bridge in the south.
