Flower Packing Machine Upgrader

 There is a new update to the game that forces many farmers with older versions of Android out of their farms unless they are willing to imvest more money in a new device.  As it is, many farmers have stripped their devices bare to allow all of their devices’ memory capacity to be dedicated to Seaside.  I find this troubling to be honest.  My low level neighbours cannot finish quests that require new premium Animals and Machines, and cannot participate in many of the new options.

Kindle Update

Some Kindles will update automatically, so you never will encounter this bed of thorns.  I basically play on two different platforms.  When I attempted to use my Kindle, I received the Funplus screen to ‘Update’.  This did not take me to Amazon, but to Google, which makes no sense.  I therefore closed the browser.  When I went directly to Amazon, the only option was to ‘Open’.  

What you must do is go to your settings, and then to ‘Manage Applications’.  Here you will see that the game requires new permissions.  Tap on that option to update the game, and it should install the update.  It is utterly absurd to expect ordinary people who play a farming simulation game to be this savvy.  Thus my strategy tip here.  Mind you, as I write this, the game is hanging at 99% still...  it got there in the end.

I am very grateful to every farmer who sent votes to HM. Freyashawk in the Farm Beauty Contest, and I know the efforts that were made, but I did not place in the top 10.  I want to thank you, however, for trying to make that possible.

The posts for the current timed Quest and the Darryl’s Adventure Tasks through 500 are below this one.  I thought it might be useful to give players the requirements and gadgets for the new Upgrader.

You can pay 1 RC for each of the Bouquet Wrapping Paper and the Bouquet Clips that you need to upgrade the Upgrader, or you can request Bouquet Clips from your Buddies and purchase 1 Bouquet Wrapping Paper per day for 5 Blue Mystrons.  If you look at the requitements for each new upgrade, and the total of materials required, it will take a long time to achieve these if you opt not to use RC.  The maximum number of Buddies any farmer can have is 15.  You will need a total of 45 Bouquet Clips.  That may take only 3 days to collect if tou have 15 active Buddies.  It is the Bouquet Wrapping Paper that will take months to collect, as you are limited to the purchase of 1 per day in the Mystron Shop.  I believe you will need a total of 83 to reach Level 5.  

Note that updates are rolled out gradually on the Kindle.  If you have Buddies who play on the Kindle, they may or may not have the new update.  You still can send requests for the material, but it will not be a ailable in their market to request or send unilaterally to you.  My buddy told me the request I made was blank, but had a ‘Send’ option, and I did receive the material.

Dragon Raising Tip

Players are desperately requesting rare items in global chat to fill the Magic Spring.  Please relax.  The Dragon does not require 100%.  It is a gradual process to hatch and grow any dragon and sadly, that pet will fly away from you in the end, however devotedly you tend him or her.  You then will have to start the entire process again.  

When your Dragon reaches full maturity, you will have only 30 more days with it.  After 15 days, a timer will appear to count down the days that remain.  I filled the Magic Spring faithfully to 100% daily.  I doubt it really matters.  As a matter of fact, I wish I could keep my Dragon longer.

What you can do every day for no cost is perform the little interactions that appear in the bar below your dragon.  When all those are exhausted, you can tap on your dragon’s head three times for three extra interactions.

Flower Packing Machine Upgrader

The Flower Packing Machine Upgrader can be purchased in the Market for 4000 Coins.

To upgrade, you will need:

Snow Flight Quest and Snowball Maker Mission

A new 11 day traditional Quest has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission.  You will need the Highland Cattle to complete this Collection Mission, and as the Tree is not a premium tree, the drop rate will be low.  For me, it takes about 30 harvests to collect the required item with a non premium tree.  The Highland Cattle is a premium Animal, sold for 15 RC in the Market.

As for the Farm Beauty Contest, it is much appreciated if you send votes to HM. Freyashawk.  I have kept inactive neighbours, hoping for their return, but at this point, am going to delete a few who have not played for two years or more.  There is no hope that my farm will rank in the top 10 unless neighbours of Rosewood Sanctum or Asgard vote instead for HM. Freyashawk.  So if you vote for either of those farms because you are not a neighbour of Freyashawk, please send them a message to become a neighbour of Freyashawk.  Obviously, if you vote for some one either than those two, I would not ask you to send votes to Freyashawk instead, but those two farms belong to my family, and they are fine without extra votes.

Aquarium Tips

The Aquarium is a mini-game that must be accessed by unlocking the 6th plot in the Resort.  I have wriiten about this in an earlier post, but will add a few tips here.

Essentially, the number of fish you can purchase is linked to the upgades of your Aquarium, but it is bizarre that you can purchase more than the declared total.

The maximum number of fish that you can have in your Aquarium when fully expanded should be 30.  If you have 30 fish, you will not be able to purchase more.

If, however, you decrease the number in the tank to 29, you can use the Lottery option to purchase 10 more for a total of 39.  This is the option to:

Get 10 Fish for 900 Coins.

The fish in the Lottery are random, and can include Rare fish.  It is only through purchase using the Lottery option or breeding existing rare fish that you can acquire more rare fish.

Ordinary fish breed only more ordinary fish, and macimum level fir these is 3.  Rare fish should be bred only to other rare fish, and maximum level is 5.

You can borrow one rare fish from a buddy each day for missions.

You can release fish you do not want by pressing on the icon of the fish in the Fish menu, or you can breed two fish who are mature to decrease the total and possibly improve the level of the fish you have.  For example, two Level 2 Fish can be bred to obtain randomly another Level 2 Fish or a Level 3 Fish.

You can earn Aquarium Coins to buy fish or use in the Exchange by participating in the Fish Missions.  These are generated randomly like the Daily Orders, and you can refresh a mission three times each day without cost if you cannot perform a specific Mission.

New Year’s Dinner Quest and Confetti Cannon Collection Mission

 

A new 11 day Quest has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission.   The reward for the Collection Mission is a Collectable.  Once the Mission expires, you will find the Collectable in the Market but will be forced to pay RC to buy it.  I therefore always advise players to try to complete the Collection Mission even if they cannot complete the Quest.  The game has become more demanding, however, and recently requires one of the newer premium machines for the Collection Mission.  In this case, it is the Donut Maker.  If you wish to move forward in the game, you will need all of the premium Animals and Machines.  That is the new reality.  Once the Quest expires, it should become available from the Lighthouse as soon as a new timed Quest is released.  In other words, you now can access the last Quest, Christmas Dream, from the Lighthouse.  The Quest are divided into four parts, however, and you will be given credit only for the full quarters you completed prior to expiration.  (A friend had completed all tasks apart from the last task of cooking the Stove House dishes.  The Quest expired two minutes prior to her collection of the dishes. She was not given credit for that task, and therefore did not complete the Quest.  If she accesses it now from the Lighthouse, she will have to repeat tasks 13 through 16 if she wishes to complete the Quest now for the Decoration.)

Freyashawk are much appreciated if you use this site.  I know I am not doing as much as I once did, but the site is the result of eight years of work, and much of it still is helpful.  I do try to update with all timed quests still.  Being in the top 10 makes a big difference to morale, and I am truly appreciative of every vote sent to my farm in the Beauty Contests.

Farm Beauty Contest Strategies:

You need to maximise the votes of the four characters on your farm instead of relying on neighbour votes, especially now.  The game has become more demanding.  A variety of Crops, Animals, Machines, Trees on your farm, four Pets fully oufitted with two pieces of apparel and one piece of equipment, landscape points, farm level, and theme items will give you maximum votes from the four characters each day.  Most players have difficulty with theme points.  Go to the Trophy icon, and tap on the Red Book to see all Theme items.  Tap on each item, then hit the magnifying glass to see if you own it and where it is situated.  Only items that are on your farm and not in storage will be counted, and duplicates do not count.  The new base if completed counts for 9 votes daily, so if you are low on theme, pay RC to complete it now.  These ‘free’ games all exact a price if you are invested in receiving all possible rewards.  That alone will give you more votes than the maximum of 6 you can receive from any neighbour.  Unfortunately, all the theme items that give you multiple votes are premium items.

They are including the final reward decoration from the last quest as a theme item, so if you have that, it will give you 3 character votes per day.  Other theme decorations can be found on the aLucky Wherl now.  They include the Hannukah Gelt Tree, final reward for another recent timed Quest.  You can purchase that for 12 RC in the Wheel or Share Box.  The Piggy Cabinet was a Calendar Reward and is another theme item found now in the Lucky Wheel or Share Box for 10 RC.
