Carnival Quest and Mask Collection Mission

 

The usual 11 day timed quest has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission.  The reward for the Collection Mission is yet another ‘Collectable’.

This traditional quest task sequence requires all of the special tasks.  You need to fish with the Dolphin Hook, have your Pets dig Chests, and tend flowers 15 times in the Botanical Garden.  You need the new premium Island Animal, the Rhino, that costs 15 RC, and can be found in the Island Market to complete one of the tasks.

Farm Beauty Contest Rewards

I have requested votes for HM. Freyashawk in the Farm Beauty Contest from players who find this site useful.  I always told myself I would stop updating the site if I failed to reach the top 10:in the contest because it would signify a general decline of interest in this site.  I have not been in the top 10:for a few months now.  To be honest, I understand that many players lost access to their farms due to a lack of coordination between FunPlus and Amazon.  Furthermore, the game requires so much data that a Kindle usually now requires a memory card if a player wishes to continue to use a Fire tablet for Seaside.  The requirement to link a farm to Facebook is yet another source of anxiety for many, as Facebook, like Google, failed to protect user details.  There no longer is a simple platform for ordinary farmers who want to feel safe when they work on a virtual farm.

I created this site and have updated it for eight years.  Although I have Facebook Groups for Seaside, I never made those a requirement for accessing game update information or tips.  This site has not made a penny for me because I refuse to allow Google to load advertisements onto it.  It is free access to any one anywhere.  That is what I want to see on any site, so that is what I provide.  To me, it is horrible to find a decent academic article riddled and bisected with wart removal adverts or other random advertising that has nothing to do with the subject of the article.  It is almost obscene.

There are two points I wish to make here: first, you yourself receive rewards daily simply for voting in the Farm Beauty Contest.  Players sometimes do not participate because they will not reach a total of 6000 votes.  That is foolish.  The most importsnt reward in the form of a new decoration for the new base is given with a total of 4000 votes.  If you are unwilling to spend RC to complete the base esrly, simply make certain you place it on your farm and take a new screenshot for the Contest afterwards, as the new base on your farm will add a maximum of 9 votes daily for theme if you have not reached maximum otherwise.

Above is a screenshot of the rewards in the chest today for simply having voted in the Farm Beauty Contest.  Whether you vote for HM. Freyashawk or not, you should register and vote to receive the daily rewards.  In particular, Power and OP always are useful.

Neighbour Visits

I was playing this game almost from the time it was released.  I played the original Family Farm for PC until the game became too unwieldy and demanding fo me to take any joy in it.  Seaside was a lovely, undemanding alternative... until it became more and more demanding as well.  Global Chat in game for the most part has become a nightmare, and it is the fault of the developers who have created situations where players feel they need neighbour visits and rare items to feed their dragons.  

Neighbour visits do not need to be reciprocal.  When you visit a neighbour, whether in person or by using a ticket, you receive rewards.  If the neighbour actually spends money on premium cleanable decorations, you will receive the best rewards when you visit and choose to clean either Island premium decorations or Seaside Blue Box decorations.  

If you are not receiving reciprocal visits, do not assume that your neighbour has no interest in your farm.  Kindle users are having a particularly difficult time at the moment.  Many players on all platforms are kicked out of their farms repeatedly.  No one needs the stress.  When I see messages of apology from farmers who beg to be forgiven because they had to attend the funeral of a loved one instead of visiting 300 neighbours, I wonder how this game is reshaping our hearts and souls.  Please do not force your expectations on others.  It is choking all the fun and enjoyment from the game.

Rare Dragon Orders

I fdo not wish to be harsh, but the entire Dragon activity is unduely stressful for all players.  Many of the rare items requested cannot be sold freely in the Stall.  There is a limit imposed upon them.  There is no time limit to grow the dragon.  If your dragon wants an item you cannot produce because it is the product of an Animal or machine that was a reward for a special activity, like the Swim Rings, perhaps just fill the orders you can, and wait for reset to refresh them.  I happily would fill my stall with the various swim rings if I could, but the game is at fault here for not allowing that.

Strategies for Quest:

Set the Monkey Boost to reduce OP cost for Batch Production.  You have 11 days to complete  the Quest, but if you wish to complete immediately, do not cast a Net, set the switch for pet digging to ‘Off’ and do not tend the Botanical Garden.

Warning: I am not really at a point in my life when I can perform these updates effortlessly any longer.  I domask my administrators to look at the published post for errors, and I am grateful for their willingness to do so, but no one really is super-thrilled any longer with the increased duties imposed by this game, and even when we do still embrace the game with some enthusiasm, Life has become complex and the thorns in the path must be cut back on a daily basis for many of us.

Rely first on the actual tasks to make certain I have included everything in the lists that I provide as a helpful aid.

Chinese New Year Party Quest and Mini Bamboo Steamer Collection Mission

A new 11 day traditional Quest has been released in tandem with a Collection Mission.  I always advise low level players to try to complete the Collection Mission even if they are unable to complete the Quest, but of late, the Animals or Machines required for the Collection Missions have been premium ones.  This one requires the Pancake Maker.  I would like to thank Kaye and Anne, two of my wonderful administrators in our Facebook Group,Family Farm Seaside Freyashawk for their help this morning sharing screenshots especially.  My computer was hacked by an old friend sadly, so until that issue is resolved, I am forced to work from mobile platforms.

As far as our group is concerned, we are changing the questions to make it easier to verify farmers who request admittance.  I apologise if your request was not accepted initially.  We really simply try to protect our members and their information from hackers, and therefore need to make certain that requests come from legitimate players.  It is a sad world now in many ways, but I certainly intend always to fight back.

If you still find this site helpful, your votes for HM. Freyashawk in the Farm Beauty Contest are greatly appreciated.  It is not the Rewards I seek by reaching the top 10, but visibility as Freyashawk, a name assiciated for a long time with strategy guides, although I no longer work on guides for any games apart from this one.  Updating this site is a time consuming job, however, and I am doing this singlehanded.  I created the site so that any one in the world, whether on Facebook or not, could access it.  I never allow Google to place any adverts on my sites, so I never make any money from this, and that is fine.  My motivation is to help players enjoy this game more.  Unfortunately, the game has become far too large and complex for many players, and older devices no longer can be used to play it.  The memory required is so significant that often players have to delete their other applications in order to continue to play.  I think this is counterproductive.  We do not need mini games and endless activities.  Furthermore, many of these are unlocked only at high levels.  I once played the original Family Farm, but stopped as the game became far too complex and unwieldy, no longer a pleasure, however beautiful visually.  I hope FunPlus will reconsider its current strategy of expanding this mobile version.  Give us new beautiful  Crops instead of these sressful activities and min games.  Make the fabulous ‘temporary’ Crops like the Koinobori Plant, (Carp Banner), now unavailable, as well as the Christmas Bow, the Akita Rice, the Snowman Crop, available in the Market, and permanent.

Finally, although there is nothing wrong with asking players to support a ‘free’ game by purchasing a few premium items, but the premium items have become totally excessive.  The Farm Beauty Contest premium decorations for new bases, new Friendship Flowers... all of these need a reduction in price or a less demanding schedule in terms of sales.

Farm Beauty Contest Strategy

Most players, if they have less than maximum votes from the four characters, lack votes either from Grandma for having four fully equipped Pets on their farm, or for Theme.  There always are deorations that count more towards Theme totals than others.  The new base, if obtained from Penny at the Magic Cauldron, placed on your farm, and then captured in a new Screenshot for the Contest, will add 9 votes each day to your total number of votes.  That is more than you would receive by  exchanging votes with another player.  I see players begging for vote exchanges in chat, but you can add more votes by doing this.

Another strategy, if you actually are invested in this game, is to create a second farm, and send the votes from that farm to your first farm.  Many veteran players have multiple farms.  I only ever ask for votes for HM. Freyashawk for rank.  As far as reaching 6000 votes is concerned giving all contest rewards, other farms that belong to my family can do that without ever obtaining a single vote from a neighbour. 

In all honesty, the reward that really matters for any farm is the Decoration gained with a total of 4000 votes.  That decoration will become a theme item in future Farm Beauty Contests.

Set your Monkey Boost to reduce OP.  In the traditional quest, the only special tasks are tending flowers in the Botanical Garden, and you only need to perform the action 12 times, so you really do not need Friendship Flowers from neighbours for this quest if your Botanical Garden is at maximum level.  There is no fishing, and pets do not need to dig Chests.
