As usual, there is a Collections Mission in conjunction with a traditional Quest sequence. The Quest sequence grows longer as there now are 16 parts to it. The first special Reward is a Mission Gift Box. The second is a Movie Star Decoration for your original Seaside Farm. Then there is another special Reward in the form of an Island Gift Box and finally a Mini 3 D Californai Decoration for your Island Farm.

N.B. This is jolly unfair really as Crayfish was one of the ingredients needed for a recipe in the current Cooking Stand Contest. If you were involved in that, you would have used up to 60 Crayfish to complete the round... You can use the 'Boost' to make certain that you obtain Crayfish when fishing with the Squid Hook but it takes 3 of your tries. For this task, you cannot purchase the Crayfish but you can skip it by paying RC for whatever you lack This is NOT a good strategy, however, as you will need 6 Shrimp Meat for a Recipe in a later task.. In my view, it is best to use 7 tries simply to fish, come what may, because you need to fish 8 times.... then go for the Boost to catch the Crayfish if you do not have them in your Barn. Each Crayfish takes 4 minutes to process. Note that I am one of the unluckiest players alive as in 8 regular tries, I did not catch a single Crayfish... had to use the Boost after to do that.

Strategies for Mission

Your strategies will vary depending on whether or not you have gained access to the Island. Without it, it would be most practical simply to complete all the tasks that do not require Island access. When you reach California Girl XII, you will begin to be given Island tasks.
If you do have Island access, plan ahead and make certain that you have all the items required for the four Helicopter Orders that are on your board as early as California Girl I. Other advance actions could include basic recipes such as Batter, Cake Flour and Condensed Milk. Soft Dough, another Basic, is included as one of the early Tasks.
In this situation, where the Collections Mission Reward is a Tree rather than a Collectable, you can opt out of the Collections Mission by purchasing the Avocado Tree in the Market for 10 RC. You will need a fair amount of Avocado in the course of the traditional Quest sequence but you always can use Super Watering Cans or Watering Cans to speed the harvests. This is where Trees are so much easier than 'Collectables'.
These time-restricted Quests usually begin on Friday morning, so I never use any of my Neighbour Requests after midnight on Thursday in order to have them available for any Task in the course of the Quest sequence. Here you have two separate Tasks that require Neighbours to send an Item for a total of 50 items. I always ask at least twice the required number of Neighbours for an item as many players are 'casual' and may not respond immediately.
There is a current Cooking Stand Round, although some players, including myself, have completed it. If you have not completed it, however, you may wish to delay completion for a day or two. Certainly, you may wish to conserve some Crayfish for this time-restricted Quest if you are at a Level where the Dish that includes Crayfish as an ingredient is one of the Dishes of which you need to make 60. The dishes needed for any Round in a Cooking Stand Contest do depend on your Level. In any case, try to make certain that you have 6 Crayfish. You need to fish with the Squid Hook eight times. You can use the 'Boost' to catch Crayfish, but that will use 3 tries. None of this is truly significant unless you are in a hurry. Some players, including myself, like to complete the time-restricted Quests as quickly as possible.
Note that there are three different ways to speed production of any Animal or Machine. One is by having multiple Animals or Machines. Another, not recommended, is by manually using OP to make three at a time of any product. The third is by using Batch Production. Here, if you have multiple Animals or Machines that deliver the product needed, you can split the production between them, halving the time requirement.
Batch Production can be instantaneous but it costs more OP to complete early.
New Updates to the Game

Family Farm Seaside was updated to include some new options. One of these is a Beauty Contest. This is an ongoing affair and has Rewards, both in the form of Treasure Chests of different colours, similar to the ones that you receive by completing your Daily Quests and actual Trophy Decorations.

I am not certain that every Farmer will have a real shot at winning 1st Place, but we shall see. One of the things I really hate about the Family Farm Global Events is that ordinary Farmers cannot possibly win the best prizes...
The Beauty Contest is a new option that requires first that you take a snapshot of your farm and submit it to participate. You then can receive votes from Neighbours as well as the four main characters in the game as well as voting three times for Neighbours. The three votes that you have can be distributed randomly, to the 'Great Farmers' or by choosing 'My Neighbours' to the Neighbour or Neighbours of your choice. Regrettably, this requires a separate visit to a Neighbour's farm in order to place the Vote. Perhaps one day they can combine the visit with the ordinary visit that you make to fertilise Farms belonging to Neighbours.
By voting, you will receive a Gold Treasure Chest Tap on it to open it. You can receive these repeatedly.
The votes you receive must be collected manually by you. Tap on 'My snapshot' and you will see if there are any Votes to collect. Your Neighbours' Votes appear last. Each of the four Characters of Felicia, Dad, Darryl and Grandma are time-connected and the amount of time that you have to wait until they vote again will appear above their icons. Each of these Characters has different requirements. For example, for Felicia: Can you charm me? Theme up! Your best friends! Expansion time! In other words, her Votes increase depending on your Charm Point total, the number of theme-related Decorations that you have placed on your Farm, the number of Animals placed on your Farm and finally, the number of Expansions you have made to your Farm. It appears that only the original Seaside Farm is involved in the Beauty Contest.
The theme will change but at present is 'Grilling and Chilling'. You can see a list of all the Decorations and items that are considered part of this theme. There are four different Rewards for the Votes you receive for having the Theme: at 100 Votes, 200 Votes, 400 Votes and 600 Votes respectively. Each gives a Reward in the form of 5 Purple Vouchers and a Coin Reward. This has nothing whatsoever to do with your Ranking or the Trophies.
The Purple Vouchers is a new Voucher that allows you to claim new Avatar Icons. I do not quite understand how this operates because I bought Avatars and used them but to other Farmers, my Avatar remains the new default Icon of a Clover. You will find Avatar Icons in all the Mystery Shops now. Be warned not to mistake them for the REAL Item. I bought a Bat Milk Avatar thinking it was the Bat that dispensed the Milk! There are Crop, Animal, Machine and other Categories of Avatar Icons.
Along with this is a new value system for your Decorations. The aim now evidently is to cram as many of your Decorations onto your Farm as possible to increase your Beauty point total. I feel sad about this as a crowded farm is not the most beautiful farm, but what can you do? It will make it more difficult to obtain the Blue Gift Boxes as well as Neighbours who visit may be confronted with Cleaning Brushes on top of one another, obscuring the ones that are most valuable.
